Yeah! I'm glad they thought that far ahead, it just makes it more difficult to become a math teacher.
I wasn't expecting it either. I found out from one of the teachers when I couldn't figure out how I got the wrong answer. PEMDAS is still good, you just now have to remember to do multiplication or division based on which one comes first in the equation, same with addition and subtraction.
I hope those storms just die out before they do anything. The storms that have already hit are bad enough.
I went to Community College and now University. Really, I did that by luck. My high school offered dual enrollment for the local CC xD But yeah...saved me a TON of money transferring over.

Going into trade jobs is super smart right now too because so many kids have been encouraged to go to college and told that it's the only way that tons of trade jobs are dying to have people fill the positions. I never thought not going to college was an option when I was choosing what to do after high school. A community college also wasn't an option because no one talked about that kind of stuff really. It was four years of university, military or flip burgers, which is totally not true, but I didn't know any better. My brother has his own issues, but he tried to do college and it was a disaster, but he was told he should go and he got a sports scholarship so he went for it, but he quit after three years with nothing to show for it except lost money and probably feeling upset at not being able to finish. A bit later, he ended up doing a one year course through a community college and is a diesel mechanic who makes more money than I do as a teacher. Everyone has a path to take, but looking back on it I probably would have changed a lot of things about what I did, but since I did the 4 year university path I never changed my initial major (history) even though I probably should have. I also never explored things that interested me because I didn't think that something like art could translate into an actual job. Anyways, what I'm saying is a community college is an excellent choice especially with the ridiculous cost of education. Don't even get me started on that!
I totally know that situation. My best friend was in school nearly 10 years before she got her nursing degree because she chose to go to university where I was and attended 3 years before changing her major from photo journalism to nursing, but our school had no nursing program so she transferred to another university that had nursing hoping to get admitted to an accelerated program for people with partially completed degrees, but didn't make it since she checked out her last year of her 3 years at uni with me since she was super depressed and unsure about life so then they wouldn't admit her because of the grades. She kept trying at the second uni anyways though just the long way around to get into their nursing program and then finally she found a program at the community college and was a nurse 2 years later. I cringe to think about how much debt she has racked up from doing that. Too late now though like you said, but at least you figured it out sooner than her! :D
i'm being forced into inpatient. i've been deemed at very high risk for sudden death and am unable t find it in myself to want to do anything about it, so i'm being sent away. if i go voluntarily i can choose the place. i'll be going around may. i'm really scared.
It sounds like it's a good idea and it probably should be sooner. Just be open to the treatment and be true to yourself and to those around you because you're really not alone and you need to find the right set of tools to properly deal with the source of your problems.

I had a busy day yesterday i orderd a lounge set for my balcony. 2 chairs, table and a couch and for a nice price. They got deliverd yesterday. But they said until the side walk and not to my home... weird delevering orders. I got the boys so far they took it to my front door and the 3rd floor. I unpacked it and darnit the couch was broken at the headboard, and called the company where i bought it. They want pics and then they see if i get money back of a new couch (i want a new couch).
I put it all together (alone), so proud of myself. Took me 4 hours. So still waithing for the shop to contact me back but i am enjoying sitting outside.
Hang in there Kate. I know it's super scary, but we'll be here for you when you need us and like Taarna said it sounds like it's going to be a good idea. It could even be one of the best things even though it's hard now.
hugs We're always here for you when you need us!
I hope they replace the couch! That sucks :(
After several talks with the family, I might be putting off University until I can go in person. These online classes are not what I thought they would be like...I absolutely hate them. I want lectures. I want to SEE the professors and my classmates. Even though they gave me the book for free as a PDF, I still bought a physical copy. I just don't think I will be happy as an online student. It's convenient...but I like more structure than this. I've never tried online classes before, so I needed to try...I feel ashamed of myself, but if I do something now, I can better afford to leave...I'm going to contact my counselor, but this is still a possibility.

- Do NOT feel ashamed of yourself for not liking the online classes! They aren't for everyone! I agree, they SOUND totally convenient, but it's hard when you don't see a professor to really ask questions, or have a peer sitting next to you to also ask questions. And those online books/PDFs suck! I hate them too; I always buy a physical copy when I can.
- They better replace your couch! It's not your fault it's broken, it came that way.
- That sounds a lot like me. I went to Uni with my friends for 2.5 years before I decided I needed to step back and find something else. I was on the same path as my best friend, but she was a little ahead of me, and she kept telling me about all the stuff she was doing, and I just had zero desire to do it. I'm looking at around 6-7 years I think total, before I have an RN. Then, I'll probably go for BSN, so looking at around 9-10 probably overall.
I tend to either buy a physical copy of textbooks for online classes or download the pdfs so I can access them offline (just in case my internet goes out).
I remember I was a computer class and right before we took a test the server went down for all the computers and our class couldn't take the test online. So we had to take the test on paper, and some students mentioned that the sudden format change made them uneasy and might have caused them to score lower. Situations like these make me believe that completely converting to online/digital format might not always be the best move.

i hope so to. -waits for email or phone call-
good for you! You like the real classes and do them.
Hugs If you are at serious risk, it is necessary to get the help you need and the sooner the better! This will not be easy and I understand why you are scared. But it also sounds like it is exactly what you need to recover. Best wishes and all good feelings to you and let us know what's going on when you can.
That was a lot of work! How disappointing the couch was broken. Hope they replace it soon!
Hugs to you too! I don't know if I would like the online classes either. They do seem like they would be convenient, IF everything worked and you got all the proper materials (my son did not - it was a nightmare). But like you and the others said if you go in person you can always ask questions and get something clarified that you need. I like the structure too as you said. I'm glad there are choices in how to take classes now. Something for everyone. Both ways have pros and cons and both ways could be great for the right person. My daughter took courses both ways and both worked for her depending on what was going on in her life at the time. In the end you just have to do what suits you the most. But hooray for you and and for keeping going. That is the hardest part.
it was my poor hands and wrists. I hope they contact me asap or i will have to visit the store.
well my phone went dead on Tuesday morning and without phone, no internet. called at&t and they said they couldn't come out until Friday so yippee a day early. I'm glad to be back online. sure did miss it.
will be praying for you.
hope you get a new couch soon
Give a flower!

Sorry for the silence. Driving is going really well. Almost ready to try freeway. It is really tiring me out, though. Dmy is STILL waiting on the apartment. Dad is sometimes going without the walker for over 300 feet now.
glad you got back online.
hugs for when you get back online.
My eyes are burning so not reading back far.
TGIF! whew this week has been s/thing else both at work and in my head.
Honestly, I can see why you would feel ashamed after stressing over it so much but you recognized what you needed pretty quick instead of trying to continue and that's got more sense in it than feeling the other way. ;) (hope that came out right)
I never went to college so I wouldn't know about the structure you talk about, and since I'm a self taught person, online classes would probably work for me but I can see how they wouldn't be for everyone. I also thought about how you talked about hating change and I wondered how you're going to feel when you, Andrew and the furbabies get your own place.
Hey, when is your vacation b/c I'm looking forward to some pics! :P
You have definitely put in your work just to stay there and work. Seems like it would be a constant hassle and make me question if it was worth it.
I was reading the other day that Austria was tightening up some of those same rules b/c of the amount of refugees coming into the country. Hopefully that doesn't affect what you already have to deal with down the road.
Yay for driving! But damn, what the hell is up w/ getting the place?
How you been?
smushes Ok everyone's getting their profile done and I'm getting jelly. Who was the other that recently offered?
Make sure they deduct that down time from your bill!
I'm loving that orange :D
Anyone watching Jersey Shore? lol This was one of the funnest shows for reality tv I've ever seen. :P

i hope so to. Just had a call about it... will have more info for me next week :(
Sometimes I also wonder if it's worth it, but it's way easier now that I have a full time job and I like the lifestyle and the quality of life is something I really appreciate here. Americans work really hard and don't get a lot back and I think it's getting worse. I like that it's not the same way here. The government in Austria has gone more right wing since the last election so they are tightening up in some areas. I'm in the middle because the US is technically categorized as a 3rd nation, which falls in with places like Syria, but at the same time I'm a native speaker of English so they like that. It works to my advantage and against me sometimes. Anyways though, I'm far enough in that it shouldn't affect me and the amount of integration I've done also helps me, but you never know either. Never say never as they say. All of Europe has been freaking out about the refugees though and there are now people at the borders checking things even though the EU is supposed to be open and a lot of countries have been trying to close up shop to the outside world. So, things have changed a lot.
Mornin' KSrs
Not been posting or in discord for the last week or so. Just wanted to say I'm fine. Nothing going on here. Just feeling unsocial. It'll pass. I worried people in our discord channel and I so didn't mean to. Just wanted to ping y'all and say that I pretty much sign into subeta daily even if I don't post or open discord so if you need me for anything or just need me to let you know I'm here, just shoot me a comment or an smail.
Sorry to be late to comment. You need to take care of you. Sounds like surroundings more focused on your health is a good thing. Hang in there. Hope you can find a place you like.
waves Been fine. Hybernating a bit. Brother was up from KY last weekend so we celebrated Easter and his birthday (which was in March) then and mom had dr appts this week (she's fine). Next week is all pre-NJ trip stuff and likely heading to NJ May 1st or 2nd-ish. Still having computer issues. Was going to lug my computer with me because it's faster than my mom's ancient laptop but don't want to now with more issues cropping up. So while I'm away I'll be the computer less. It gets frustrating to try and do stuff on the slower laptop.
Glad lessons are going well even though they are tiring you. Stinks that dmy still isn't in her new place! Super excited to keep hearing about your Dad's progress. I bet after all this time he is so happy to getting better!
“Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.” - Benjamin Franklin
"Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people, making widows their prey and robbing the orphan." - Isaiah 10:1-2
That's so true about Europe and the crying, lol. I don't typically read that kind of stuff - at least, not w/ anything other than a mild interest - but when I saw "Austria" I hopped on it. lol
It's also so unbelievably true about the quality of life here, and many other countries think the same, although I'd argue that parts of Asia experience a worse quality. That would be more than worth it in itself to stay and go through so much and I'm really glad to hear about it.
I don't use the "never say never" thing. Mine is interchangeably that s/thing may be possible, but not probable. (and v.v.) I have a pretty open mind to a lot of things (which is why I read such a variety of stuff) and I've come across that somewhere and it just always stuck. ;)
YAY to see you!! (still check your avvie to see what you're wearing) :P
You've been putting in an extreme effort for a very long time to maintain sociability so I would say it's good you take time for yourself.... not to mention that I completely understand the frustration of slow pc's.
I forget where we left off w/ your desktop, other than it rebooting on its own (I think?) or not going into sleep mode. I really wanna help w/ that, but it would require time and patience and me asking a load of questions. I also know some good forums for help and now that I'm on Reddit, I can ask around there, too. If it's hardware, I'll probably be out of the equation. I'm very software savvy but hardware has always scared me. :sigh:
I keep forgetting I have Discord on my phone. I know you don't like to worry people, but you should let them worry (just not in a bothersome way, if you know what I mean - and yeah, I'll say that publicly). It will suck when you're away from us in NJ without any contact. :(
