I think there should be more activity in Port Plunder, it's a celebration after all. Maybe pirates could take over some of the games and we'd have a low chance of winning the items?

Here's something I posted in a feedback thread on Freyalise. Suggestions start at the 4th paragraph if you don't want to read the whole thing.
I'd like to see some form of change. Something. Either more items every restock or maybe a time delay on purchases like the Token Shop (But less severe; like one item per restock or one item every 15 minutes or something) Just to give people a better chance. You can still get something but you're not getting multiple things per restock.
This is one of my least favorite holidays. Not because I don't like pirates or don't like the items or anything but because I hate the shop. I usually want to collect items for my wardrobe and TC and I can't.
I'd like to be able to buy from the shop but the fact is is my net isn't good enough. I don't have the speed to be able to get anything from the shop even if I manage to catch it and see it there. And we've already heard from people that vending and quests don't guarantee items and rate you get anything may be very low.
I'd like to see something different from other shops we have right now. They're pirates! There has to be something that can be changed that can make people happy.
I love pretty much all the suggestions has made. Keep the holiday the way it is with its focus on restocking, and add a few more chance options to it, sounds like a wonderful compromise and the suggestions made DarkVixen28's post are really creative and would work well with the overall theme of the holiday, I think.
Has great suggestions. I have never caught anything in the shop which can be frustrating but I would rather the shop stay restock oriented. I think the items I do get, vending, which is several a day, and questing are then worth more. I don't mind spending for what I want or working out trades. Pirates should not be easy to deal with... they are pirates after all.
I love Port Plunder, I love the holiday in general, but I don't really participate in it because I don't want to sit refreshing the page all day. I've basically been doing Carl's quests and that's it because this holiday is frustrating for me.

Honestly, I usually forget about this holiday because the shop is so crappy. I like restocking, but that's in normal shops where you don't have every item selling in a split second. As I said in the feedback thread, we really need to change it up, do something that isn't an everyday occurrence. Yeah, people will complain that staff took away the "restocking holiday" but restocking and battle are the only things I can think of at the moment that have their own holidays, and Morostide has plenty of other stuff for everyone else(there's the Gelly war, too, but that's not exactly on a regular schedule). And with battling anybody can train their pet up to get the prizes from the challengers; on the other hand, you can practice restocking as much as you want, it's still very luck and internet speed dependent. Sure, you could just buy from other players, but the same could be said for battle loot, or steamworks tokens, or vesnali tokens, etc. Making players with slow internet speeds have to pay more for items is just... ick. Especially since slow internet is a region thing a lot of the time.
To be honest, I always thought I'd hated the Keel Hauliday event, because I never managed to restock anything and there's not much to do besides refreshing the Freyalise Trading Co. But then I really managed to restock something ... I saw the shop NOT empty, panically clicked everywhere I could, and ta-dah, an item! Though it was not from my wishlist, I was so happy: I participated! I felt great! :D Anyway, I see why some people love the rush, the stress and the feeling of victory while restocking, and that's why we should keep it.
I agree with point, that a festival needs more activity! And had some great ideas there. Let's be pirate-y and demand ALL of it! 😆 The NPC backgrounds are a good beginning, but why not have all of it: Trading, more games, more Rum! That would be so great o-o
I agree on this. I like doing this way more then the beer event (alegarten right)
I don't think the holiday should be changed. I get that some people don't like it/don't think it's fun, but I'm personally very squeamish and don't think Survival's fun outside of the Sweetheart stuff. That doesn't mean I think it should be removed just because I personally am not having fun. I just am on the site less during the holiday.
That being said, I'm a ridiculously casual user, and really flakey about remembering to be on this site, and I still can grab things from the shops. Last year I had nothing but time on my hands and was getting one or two items an hour because I kept refreshing while working on other things. Set a timer every five minutes if you really want things. It reminds you to keep an eye on the shop status.
The quests make this event way more accessible, which is a good thing. I haven't tried vending so I can't speak for that, but I think that there's enough options for people to participate in everything. People who have time/little SP = restock. People who have SP = do quests/buy from restockers. People who have huge token vaults = vend. I don't think it's a total loss to not participate in some of it because you don't want to/can't sit around and refresh.
Frustrating? Yes. I think it could stand to restock more often/ with a few more items. I don't think the format needs to be changed because there are plenty of people who like it as is, and most of the other holidays are formatted to be way easier. I think we can wait/spend a little SP/time to get what we want from this one.
I couldn't agree more with people who said:
If you hate RSing or have a shitty connection, buy from user shops. Already the items have depreciated in value because there are more on site, and they are very affordable (I don't consider 200k expensive, and only a few are still over 1 mil). I've done all my Carl quests and have received 5-6 Freyalise items each day, plus I got random items from Pete, Quentin and Mori. Vending the max amount has also gotten me 5-6 items per day. That's on average, 13-14 items per day for not rs-ing, PLUS I have the option to buy from users if I don't get the items I want. Really, what more do you guys want? They've given multiple options for those who don't/can't RS!
I posted on another thread, and I'll reiterate here.....please leave this holiday as is. Not everything will and SHOULD be easy on Subeta, and we already have other holidays and events that cater to users who battle, who like to socialize on forums, who like to quest, dress up their HA's, etc.
I love to RS, and since we no longer have RS wars, this is my favorite event because it lets me RS and compete against other players in that way. The only thing I would like to see added is maybe more lore and character development surrounding the holiday itself and its NPC's. But the Freyalise shop? Please let us just keep RSing. If you don't like it, do your quests, vend, and buy from those of us who get a kick out of it. It's not as though the user prices are unreasonable!!
I love restocking. It's pretty much all I do here anymore, so I really kind of enjoy the FTC even if it can be frustrating at times. That said, I wouldn't mind seeing some aspects of the holiday change so long as the restocking element stays. For instance, we really don't need another perma-stock shop or a new currency (honestly, I thought creating a new currency and shop for the bath house was really pushing it, but what do I know). But it would be cool to see the lore of the holiday expanded further and somehow integrated with how the shop function. Somebody on the other thread mentioned haggling with pirates. I really liked that idea, as the holiday can still maintain its competitive edge but at the same time take on a more inventive angle. I also would not be opposed to shorter waits between restocks. Waiting 20+ minutes can get pretty annoying.
...
We're not going to make another currency and we're not going to change the shop to be a year round purchase shop like GoOutside or like some of the other holidays. We don't want to make Keel Hauliday just like every other holiday. I'm open to finding a few more ways to get items out throughout the holiday, more than just Carl. I know a user suggested here (or on the other pirate thread) that fishing could be a thing. You guys have come up with some great ideas in that regard!
Next year, I'm hoping we have more going on throughout the holiday, too. :) We have pirate themed items going out various places this year, but I would love to do another small thing like the scavenger hunt we had one year along with more lore added!
What are we celebrating? Why is Keelhauliday there? Why is the only thing to do literally just buying things?
It doesn't help that Keelhauliday is between two other events that are at most okay. Like, there isn't passion for the September-October stretch, they just feel like filler to make us wait for Morostide. The anniversary is just a couple item releases, and LOLALEGARTEN.
Because we're in a stretch of three events that don't feel special, don't bring any unique actual activities to the yard(we have permanent shop all year long, we can restock all year long), and if they didn't exist, I don't think people would really notice. Like, it's cool to have a couple new items, but Keelhauliday and Alegarten are just business as usual days. They don't feel like holidays and if you don't want them to be like "every other holiday", it should actually feel like a holiday in the first place. Right now, it doesn't.
So, we should make Keelhauliday great again. Because right now, it's not that interesting. I feel like Subeta has too many holidays, and too little to actually do in these holidays
I hate restocking. But I understand that some people love it. I have bad vending luck too!
Carl is a superb lifeline for those of us with slower connections or limited time to shop-stalk.
Would certainly support the pirate items being fished up out of the sea - who owns that 'Boat fer rent' in Port Plunder?
Loving your ideas! Not sure we should be encouraged to root about in Dirty Matty's pockets, though... xD
Maybe open up some 'just for the holiday' games or daily things to do in the other cabins on the Freyalise?
Maybe we can have a user contest to design a sea monster that will a) be a battle challenger, just during this time b) be a random event like Tempest, just during this time Tentacle hugs, not bear hugs!
There's a treasure chest outside the Trading Co. maybe this could work like the 'trash can' again just for the holiday?
Like I said, I’m up to having more things happen next year. We only have so much time to devote to something new/different for holidays. I also don’t understand why the anniversary needs to be a huge thing; I get that people are still upset that we don’t do goodie bags anymore, but in general does it need to be a big thing? Yes, for the 10th anniversary we went all out because the 10th is a milestone. BUT THAT'S A DIFFERENT TOPIC.
And we’re going to be doing something different for Alegarten. :) It’s not really fair to say “business as usual” for a holiday that hasn’t even started yet ;)
There's the random boat for rent in Port Plunder. What if you could rent it once a day and have a chance at finding a Freyalise item that fell off the ship during transport?
omgz don't seal my ideas :V
Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I don't see much point in making a big deal about the anniversary. A free item or maybe double quests for the day is more than enough in my opinion. Goodie bags are overkill and just flood the site with a lot of pretty but useless items.
Keelhauliday has a lot of cool items. Restocking isn't my favorite event, but by the end of the holiday, most of the items are really affordable! I really like 's ideas to incorporate more activities into Keelhauliday that could help bring more of the lore into the holiday.
And yay for Alegarten :) I LOVE the wearables, and I'm definitely looking forward to it!
We could turn in Beach Shack items like flippers, bathing suits, snorkel masks, etc and go diving for treasure.
I love the idea of fishing for items too though I hope it's not with Temictzin (or that the game gets updated if it is) since I'm convinced he's just trolling us with that "best fishing spot".
I actually kind of enjoy having a highly competitive shop to restock in but other things aside from quests/vending are fun too. c:
