- our group at work had the first "experimental" cell phones installed in our cars. You had to go to a special shop and leave the car for a few hours while they drilled holes and ran cables. And the phone was welded between the two front seats and was the size of a regular house phone. We did have speakerphone. There was a box the size of a VCR or small desktop computer in the trunk taking up space. And we had two curly antennae on the roof.

n those days, I drove a VW Rabbit. So it now had ears and we put a pompom on the trunk with a hairband. On warm days, people would yell "I like your tail" at me through the open car windows as they drove by. I would love to hear what your dad has to say about his early car phone. We were so excited by our second car phone because it was only the size of a large purse and could actually be removed from the car and hauled around to use elsewhere.

Sorry for the late reply -- bird duty calls! Awwww, mean owners! And just by you rescuing him, loving him, you gave him the best time of his life! My Nanday, Ellie, is a rescue also. She was supposed to be my older sister's bird, but chose me instead! I've had her for five years as of August and when my mom, older sister, and myself went to look at her, we decided to rescue her. She didn't even have a name, living in a travel/vet cage, chewed/shredded feathers, and roughly 15-21 years old at the time -- I deemed her to 15 years so she can still be a young gal. (;

She's a bit opposite of Kijani -- she is a total introvert and loves her cage. I could be holding her for 15 minutes and she flies right to her cage when she's had enough out-of-the-cage time. I think it could be stress related and she likes the protection of her "room." Where Kijani wants to be out 24/7 and is very demanding when she wants "mama time." But Ellie has turned around completely from when I look back at when we first got her -- bigger cage and toys, proper diet (she's super picky with her fruits/veggies but loves apples), super talkative and I don't trim her wings as she's good about flying where she wants to go. I still have bouts of her chewing her feathers and trying to preen her, but over all she is a great bird~ <3

I am still a bit issed that I missed the double quests yesterday and had the feeling I am not doing enough and have to sit and can only watch...

I am not hurting myself, my hubby would definetly drag me away from the PC if he felt it was for my best. Plus I am also working. So I can stay up

If folks are looking for ways to prepare for the trail coming up, you could train up a pet if it's too weak to take on the spiders or scarabs, or you could play Slots for Oofa fruit for when those Lasirii show up again!

Edit: And Virus reminded me about Medical supplies from Medicontra. Maybe a stash of those would be convenient too!

yesterday I was asleep at the computer and my hot dad put me in my bed. He never complains though. He just made me my favourie food and made sure I stay in bed at least a few hours.

Wow, that really was first gen. My dad wasn't quite that cutting edge. His was about the size of a...I don't know, a regular phone set, maybe a little smaller and more rectangular? I do remember the holes drilled in the car, though, and the big fixed stand it required.

I don't know if it was planned this way, but both teams have turned out pretty even in regards to most things so far. We have a pretty good chance of winning the next leg too if we try, so that will keep it even.
