you could start right at 4 and play through no problem. if you start at the beginning, then later on you will find some things that are connected.

that being said, i still haven't played the first 2. /cries

That's good to know! I really like a lot of the story and lore bits of fallout, so even though I know a lot of it already (I don't really mind spoilers too much haha), I think it'll still be fun to play through and find things out for myself. I might start with either fallout 3 or new vegas and play through the series!

I'll be interested to know which one you like better and which one you start with. I started with Fallout 3 and i like it a little better than New Vegas. And I know there are some people who started with New vegas and they like new vegas better.

When I get started on them, I'll be sure to let you know! It'll be fun to have someone to talk about Fallout with while I'm playing the games for the first time c:

I've logged 385 hours and 17 minutes into fallout4. I don't have nuka world but I have all the others. I just hit level 107 and I mostly spend the game building settlements.Im full minutemen, and slightly railroad but my game has been glitched since level 12, so i can't talk to anyone in the railroad or the BoS. In fact, i can kill members of the brotherhood all day long and its like they dont even see me. Pretty nice glitch in that respect, lots of brotherhood loot.
Maccready is my faverite companion but ever since automotron I've had a robot follower :x

I'm totally in Fallout! I don't have all DLCs, but if I have money left in the next month I try to get Nuka and some others I'm missing. Maybe I start over too. Now I joined the Minutemen, becaus I hated the BoS and the Railroad is too extreme. Maybe I join the Insitute next time, could be interesting. I just hope Nick will still like me. My favorite character. Just sad I couldn't bang him. I did everyone I could. Just sad I didn't catch a STD like in Fable.

Awesome! I'll look forward to hearing about it!

I couldn't even tell you how many hours i have. it just shows up as days in my files. I really love the building aspect. When I played 3 and New Vegas I really liked decorating my houses with stuff, so you can imagine how excited I was about 4. haha. That is a nice glitch. I really don't like the Fo4 BoS. I don't know who my favorite companion is, but I don't think I've ever used Deacon longer than you have to for that mission they want you to complete.

Why would you want your character to get an STD? lol. You can always get them infected with molerat disease I guess.

I know the BoS Is so...arrogant and I just dislike them in general. Deacon is a cool dude, if you replay the game though you can catch him literally spying on you WAY before you get to the railroad. He wasn't lying when he said he's kept tabs on you. If you try to talk to him hes so casual and won't engage in actual conversation. That made me like deacon much more. But macreedy is such a sad guy, I romanced him and we traveled around the wasteland for a long time and he's just a skrawny sad dad, running from his problems, just like my character was when they met macreedy. [Br]
oh god you can tell I play way too much if this dumb game lmao...my fiance has caught me talking back to people in the game, like I'll say excuse me if one of my settlers walks by. I wish I could post pics of my santuary, I made it basically a minutemen college town, where newbie MM come to train and receive thier first power armor. The castle is for veteran MM only. Hnnnnng I gotta find a way to get a pic of the castle, I fixed the walls and filled it with shops and gun stores.

I play Fallout 4, but it's been a little over a month since I last touched it. I didn't want to completely restart the game to get all the alternate endings, so I kept a saved file, picked a faction to stick with to the end, and then reloaded that initial save and sided with a new one. I mainly did it for the achievements tbh but also to see all the different endings.

Trust me, I like the game, but I wish Bethesda worked harder on the alternate endings per faction. Practically everyone's are the same with the exception of the Institute. It's just, meh. Even the Minutemen's ending is the same--you don't get an achievement for their ending but I did it just to do it. It made it a little bit of a turnoff. After completing all the sides, I decided to continue my Minutemen playthrough. Even though I thought the BoS and Railroad were a bit extreme in their ways, I didn't agree with just killing them off which is why I ultimately didn't choose Railroad or BoS, and I didn't care for the Institute either.

I haven't played it in a little while, but I really love it. I was just kind of dicking around and didn't really get super far into any of the main quests though. I was genuinely awful at it when I first started playing. I don't think I've ever died so many times in one game before, haha! Once I got leveled up and got the hang of the controls a bit more it got easier and thankfully I've been able to avoid getting annihilated so many times.

oh yeah i know. deacon is a stinker, stalking you the whole time. i tried to talk to him in goodneighbor and he was just like 'yeah hi'

yeah the story maccready tells about his wife and kid made me sad.

i play way too much too, you're not alone. lol. have you played fallout3?

yeah the endings are definitely disappointing. there are a lot of missed opportunities in fallout4. and it's a real bummer.

lol, even after leveling up, there are still certain enemies i run away from.

Oops I forgot to reply. But yes I agree. I played Fallout 3 and New Vegas but not in completion. I got distracted and have never finished the campaign or played their DLC's. My fiance definitely prefers 3 over 4, both campaign and DLC. I haven't played 4's DLC yet but he has, and he said they're just kind of 'eh' in his opinion and he didn't get emotionally invested in them like 3.

Also this game makes me feel so bad for poor Danse during the BoS playthrough. Maxson is so vicious, man. I thought I was going to like him when I first met him but daaaang. Also I didn't realize that Deacon was following me around, what! I just watched a video about his locations and I never noticed! I really don't recall seeing him in Goodneighbor actually. Apparently he shows up during Hancock's speech and I really don't remember Deacon making an appearance.

I've completed most Fallout Games except the brotherhood of steel one. Had a lot of fun with the older ones like fallout 2, and Fallout New Vegas is by far one of my favorites in the series. I only recently finished Fallout 4 though, and started playing the DLCs a bit. I like it but I don't know. Doesn't have the draw like older games had on me, but still a really fun game in general.

ah, i asked because i wondered what your reaction was seeing maccready as an adult after meeting him as a kid in fallout 3.

it's so weird, i tried to play fallout 3 the other day and it felt so weird, and i almost died right away. feels crazy after spending so much time playing 4.

Yes, omg Danse, it breaks my heart. I hate Maxon so much. He was such a cute kid in Fo3 and turned out to be such a bastard ugh.

I never noticed Deacon either, I feel like you have to really really really pay attention to every individual person you see or have to be looking for him, but that's just me. The first play through i thought he was just saying he'd been keeping an eye on me.

ah i have only played 3,4 and new vegas. good old games had the first 2 for free once, but i didn't download them because my computer is a piece of junk and i knew it wouldn't work and would just bother me. orz. really need a new computer. and honestly i always forgot about the BoS one.

Yeah, there is something different from 4 and the others, can't really place it though.

I restarted with my main SS a few days ago. Been a while since I last played, and I haven't explored the DLC yet, despite having each one since its release. xD Scratched the surface of Automatron a while ago, but that was about it.

Just got Natalia reunited with Hancock, so now it's time to make some serious progress! Hehe. I have to get those two travelling together ASAP, whenever I start a new game with her. <3

Deacon shows up a few times before you meet him properly! :D

SPOILER (click to toggle) He's a guard standing near Danny Sullivan, just after meeting Piper, and before you first enter Diamond City.

He's a Drifter in Goodneighbor. Usually hangs around near KL-EO and Daisy's shops. And yes, he can be there for Hancock's speech.

He can also be seen in one of the pods in the Memory Den.

I think that's all his locations. The shades give him away, and his voice.

oh man, how have you made it without playing the dlcs? i couldn't even sit still while they downloaded lol.

after my first playthrough and i learned about deacon following you, i'd found him in the first 2 spots, but didn't know about the 3rd one. interesting. next time i start a new playthrough, i'll have to try and find him.

My fault really. I was waiting for them all to come out before playing any of them, and wanted to start fresh. By that time I'd played so much I was a little burnt out on the base game. Then other games came along and distracted me for a while. ^^; But I'm right back into it now and it's GREAT to be wandering the wasteland again! <3

Oh! Deacon also shows up as a caravanner at Bunker Hill. Never seen him there myself. I think he stops appearing in all those spots once you meet him properly. It's fun looking out for him! :D

you are so much stronger than me. haha. I have been playing it so much lately ever since mods came to PS4. now all i am doing is building stuff and killing super mutant behemoths with knives. haha.

i really need to do a playthrough and make him my companion. i've never done it before.

I haven't messed with mods yet. It's something I want to try, but I don't have all the trophies and mods disable those. Even the ones that are just aesthetic. I'd love to add some that improve building options though, and the one that lets you create a Ghoul character! :D

Deacon's pretty cool to travel with. Not my favourite, but he is fun.
