Now for the obligatory monkey wrench in the entire proceedings:
Can we make an item that absolutely removes an arm or a leg (i.e. covers with cloth or the like) in some fashion? I ask this on behalf of the Dragon Age players on here who want to make avatars of their Inquisitors, myself included.

Yes I know!!! I am sooo curious to see what people will come up with __
My CW thread ❤️
... You just gave me a very good reason to get back into CWs. c:

Thanks for the (re)clarification. Sorry if it seemed nitpicky but it just seemed like an odd comparison in the original short answer, and it was obviously - as shown here! - going to be a large area of interest.
Still nice to have been wrong about the 'all covered' style possibly being required, even if darker skin tones may unfortunately be rarer.
I like the idea. In fact when I was pondering my waffle cones I was wondering if this would ever become a thing. It is such a shame though that the site has not implemented some standard arms other than those as of late. Of course the ones I'm talking about could be with the elbow portion bent so that it looks like it's holding objects... Anyway, I'm rambling I'm on pain medication so forgive me. Thanks for this update though I'm curious how this will all unfold for all.
By standard arms, do you mean bases with arms bent ? I don't see the site as ever having base avatars with different limbs. It would mean all previous items would have to be redone to accommodate them, and any future item would have to be drawn twice (upwards to four times, maybe more if you factor in possible leg positions). AND they would most likely all have to be made transformable. An exception to this are the limbs from Rachelle, I know. But you go into that knowing you have to make a sacrifice in what will and will not work. If the site made posable limbs for base avatars, people would throw fits when things didn't fit correctly.
Sorry if I misunderstood what you meant !
yes, that is exactly what I meant in my post. And I get why it wouldn't work on some level due to the need of art having to be redrawn and what not. Though, it would be nice to have the option like that of the limbs by Rachelle, even for one arm not necessarily both or even the legs being re-positioned. Not so drastically either, unless it makes a dramatic difference in the way the item sits on the HA, if that makes any sense at all.
If that became an option, I'd be all over it to be honest because it would be a small step forward instead of having to purchase and transform all the time or being stuck with a single pose. While a lot of items might no longer work (rings, held items, etc); I am a firm believer that if such an option became available site-wide for the base of our HAs it could open up another window of opportunity for the CW market and of course subeta as a whole could grow too.
Maybe I'm just a day dreamer about it all, haha. Never the less, it's probably unrealistic as you mentioned and as I've thought for a while now but I'll hold on to that dream.
The way Rachelle's stuff works is the limbs layer over the HA. They're like items in the wardrobe. So that wouldn't work at all, as it would just layer an arm over what the HA is and then have nothing to cover what is under it (so think the new arms without the sleeves). The HA would have to be redrawn for each pose, and done in every color. In order to lift the left (our right) arm, the artist would have to fill in the cutout on the thigh. Lift the other arm and they would have to erase and fix the lines of the waist/hip. While the HA's need a touch up, it would upend a lot to do this.
Oh, I didn't even think of CW artists. We've have to draw an item for every possible pose and Jessi would have to make sure it fit all of them. And then we'd pretty much have to have transformable items. No one is going to want to buy every pose, and none of one one pose would fill because so many people would prefer differing poses. I get so many "I like this, but not my color" comments on why someone doesn't want an item, it would be the same for poses. "Oh, I like this but I never use the standard pose, let me know if you do one with X arm in X pose." "I want this wig but it covers X arm oddly and prevents me from layering, I hope you do it with X pose cut from it." etc. etc. etc. And each one would have to be for both f/m avatars.
Who knows what may happen ! I love the possibility of different poses but logically speaking, layerable items are the only way I can see position changes happening. I hope I don't sound mean DX
ya big meanie! :p Haha, just kidding. It all makes much more sense and I'm rooting for the idea but not the splurge in funds. I'm too addicted to LuLaRoe at the moment to be able to feed anything else, haha.
So thanks for clarifying as I wasn't aware that Rachelle's was just an overlay, which when I think about it makes total sense.
Either way I hope there is a solution from all of this because I cannot fathom spending a large amount on an arm plus a cw to match. I would cry at that expense. One or the other is how I'm viewing it.
Eyebrows seem a little random to me, but I'm glad it's making people so happy! And multiple limbs...I WANNA BE AN OCTOPUS

I'm just waiting for something to be created now.... lol
