I just LOVE the season one finale, I think it's episode 25? You know, because Cecil and Carlos x3 I also really enjoy 'A Story About You'. I'll be honest, I love Cecil and Carlos, but episodes that are almost exclusively about them kinda bore me =/ I'd much rather hear about the creepy town they are in ^^'

see i love the town, but i love every tiny little mention of them XD i hang on every mention that cecil makes of carlos XD

my least favourite episode was 'a story about them' i guess because it just didn't fit into things the way they usually do XD

i love Khoshekh too, so sweet! :3

I think I love the episodes where they just naturally are part of the overall narative. Like, Cecil talking about Carlos' findings or something. Maybe calling him on the phone to have a scientist to ask about a subject. Again, something that feels like a natural part of it. Otherwise it just seems like fanservice for people who want to see them interact, and I'm not much of a fan of fanservice =/ Khoshekh is great =D Did you know Subeta even has a minion modeled after Khoshekh? =D They also have a wearable item that may remind you of the mighty Glow Cloud ^^

nah, love me a bit of fan service XD sometimes things are overdone, i've seen that happen. so far i've not had it happen yet with Nightvale. i like how it's just little mentions of things that hint at what they are up to, like when cecil brings Khoshekh back from the vets and keep him at his house, and he's like 'carlos is allergic to cats. i got him some claritin. he'll be fiiiine' which i went 'omg! they moved in together!' XD

and oooh have to get that minion even though i'm not the biggest fan of minions XD

Yeah, that's the kind of stuff I'm totally fine with too. But I think there were a couple episodes, one after the other, that felt like their relationship was the main subject, and while that's fine in and of itself, the gay couple isn't the reason I listen to Nightvale. The creepy atmosphere of the podcast was missing, and I honestly was worried they might have changed the focus of the podcast from 'creepy town with some insight of the radio host's private life' to 'the private life of a radio host, and then there's also some supernatural things going on in the background', and I have little interest in that. I loved the final scene between Cecil and Carlos in 'One Year Later', because these scenes and all the little domestic scenes are cute and I'm happy for them. But if I wanted to listen to the everyday life of a gay couple, I'd probably turn to something different =/

Exactly! The reason why I started listening was how beautifully and artistically they describe the town and everything that's going on, with enough humor, and ridiculousness and weirdness to keep it funny, but also with enough abstractly threatening imagery that you can feel an enjoyable amount of dread and uneasiness.

i saw a description of it that i thought was pretty near perfect:

it's like Stephen King and Neil Gaiman created a town on the Sims, and just let it running for years.
