It's quite clear by now that we may not be getting PvP battles the way we know it from the mainline games. So far, with the confirmed leaks, it looks like real time battles and Gen 1 for release (the other Gens will be coming later - as you can see, Fairy, Dark and Steel types are noted within the game and Type Advantages are a thing with PGO battles).

Considering we will begin with Gen 1... what does your team now look like? What are some of the first places you will head towards?

I'm relatively new to Pokemon and am not looking up Pokemon Go news as I want to be surprisedXD

Currently I have a DSI so not able to play the newer games.

Currently playing White Version 2 and HeartGold. Just began on the latter.

Am doing fanfic journal entries for both to keep others informed of my progressXD

HERE is the only entry out so far. For White Version 2, now playing HeartGold to get enough content for a journal entryXD

Really wish I found more bird Pokemon on White Version too. Adore Evee and its evolutionsXD

Ahh! You should definitely get the (new) 3ds if you can! They did a great job with the Ruby/Sapphire remakes.

Plus Sun and Moon is coming out late 2016 as well. Very excited to see what they do with it. I'm personally hoping for more fairy types, as I'm the Fairy Gym Leader with TRG.

I will be getting a 3ds when I can :)

My current DSI was a donation from my fianceXD

I like fire and birds. I added Volcarona onto my team as flying (moth but it still counts) and fireXD

So your fave would have to be Talonflame and Ho-Oh and Moltres? Haha.

Fairy types right now are a small pool of pokemon, I'm hoping with Sun and Moon they'll really widen it up so I have more to choose from for my team. Fairy types have really good special attack and special defense stats. The only drawbacks are that they have low defense and low speed, typically. ;x;

My fav is Articuno strangely enough O.o

I've always liked the design of that one even though it's IceXD

That being said, I adore Moltres tooXD

I tend to be more into outright attacking enemies and not focusing on doing stat changes. Which made it so that I had to look up how to complete the Pokestar Studios film Red Fog 2 (or w/e that name was) as I was foaming at the mouth wondering what to do as my usual way of attacks weren't workingXD

Lol opposite!! Mixing it up haha. Yeah, I preferred Articuno's design too. I always liked the "blue" pokemon in the trios. Articuno, Lugia (if you can count that, but it's technically duo), Suicune, etc.

Ah haha. That's all without stat changes. I don't do a lot of stat changes in my battling style either. Rather hit them hard and fast if I can. But I do like stall teams (e.g. bulky pokemon using Toxic and constant evasion/etc moves so it lasts).

Yeah, I mix it up because life needs to be interesting =D

I adore one hit kills.

Playing White Version 2 and I have such a loathing for the Deerling as I have two awesome Pokemon that are basically useless against themXD

omg haha. Deerling are super cute. Which pokemon do you think are the cutest? I think Altaria (NOT mega, I just think its mega looks like Capn Crunch), Azumarill and Klefki are all tied. I adore them.

I reallyyy hope Dunsparce gets an evolution for Sun/Moon and it's a Dragon/Fairy typing. w

Okay so. Beta testing for Pokemon Go opened today in the US. There were pre-applications and invites sent out, I was lucky enough to get one. I've had the beta test version on my phone for all of a half hour and I'm so excited, you guys.

Can't say much because omg the confidentiality legalese would choke a camel, and I haven't gotten the chance to catch anything, but this is going to be fuuuunnn.

I didn't try for Beta. I just have only played 2 of the games and so I don't know how good my input would beXD

Can't wait for it to be out! Hope that if it does comes over to the southeast asia region, there would be a beta test so I can sign up for it.

To be honest, I'm not sure you need previous info on Pokemon to be able to be a decent beta tester! It's more like...what's working, what doesn't work? What's happening that makes the game kill itself, what's fun, what's not fun? What's glitched, what's working smoothly?

They've already changed some stuff, which is neat to see happen in real time.

Congrats! I wish I got invited. e_e I have a couple friends who got invited (and I'm the more involved pokemon fan.....ZZZZZZ) and they've shown me a bit. Not too important since I already have a decent idea concerning the beta with the subreddit The Silph Road. :)

I already have my Go Plus pre-ordered so I'm ready!

Yes! But not one team is better than the other. I chose valor because I have to friends that play and they both decided on valor and I liked the idea of having teammates that live close by.

There doesn't seem to be a difference between the teams right now.

Understand about wanting to join a team with friends :)
