(( -giggles- poor girl hope she enjoys her week lmao.))
Paddy was uncertain how she'd get on with looking after it, but having caught a cold while she was sitting outside watching the full moon last week, she realised that maybe a booger-eating creature might be quite useful.

(ooc: will edit this with the diary before Sunday)

A large shadow passed over him and he rolled over just in time to see Magnus (()) land. Fade’s eyes widened along with his grin. “Good to see ya’ Magnus, you look great. Nice lesson.” Or rather much improved since the last time. Reaching out a hand for the Pegasus to smell Fade patted the equine’s neck and admired it’s subtle dappled coloring. Chase was glad to see Magnus as well and hastily trotted over to the other boy intent on rubbing lots of fur onto the bottoms of his pant legs. Fade had taken care of Kippers while Magnus was in the hospital wing and the two cats had developed a sort of camaraderie.
Looking around for , Fade poked at the chocolate in his pocket and hoped it wasn’t melting. She had been very kind offering her candy to him at the last meeting, and he felt like he should at least try and reimburse her. This week he decided to bring some Hershey's he had stashed away from the last time they visited the states.
Squinting to see what Magnus was taking out of the small box Fade was quietly disappointed it wasn’t frogs again. He knew enough about Pygmy Puffs because had one, but this bigger possibly puffier version was news to him. The assignment reminded him of what upperclassmen at his old, non-magical school used to talk about when they had to care for an uncooked egg for a week and keep a journal. Only this time the thing they were caring for was very alive.
Dear diary...

Day 1
I'm not entirely sure how one goes about determining a pygmy puff's sex, but I've decided that it's a girl. She's a deep merlot color and seems content when I call her Hollie. At least, she hums every time I do it, so I think it's a good sign. She's spent most of the afternoon sitting on a pile of books on the corner of the table nearby where I've been studying. Off to bed soon - we'll see how she does tomorrow.
Day 2
I'm allergic to puffskein saliva. I woke up with her sitting on my pillow, her tongue in my nose. After a panic that lasted just long enough for me to figure out what was going on, I put her in a spare owl cage we had lying about and promptly began sneezing. The matron gave me a potion to calm the allergy but it appears to have worn off as I've begun sneezing again. Hollie looks pleased with herself. I don't want to be angry at her as she was just doing what puffskeins do best, but I'm keeping her in the cage for now.
Day 3
Puffskeins do not like baths.
At least, Hollie doesn't. I took her to potions with me and the poor dear fell off of my shoulder and into a jar of standard ingredient and got her fur all filthy. I took her to the prefects' bath to clean her off and the second her fur touched the water I'd poured in the sink, she was clambering away, tossing about in an attempt to escape. I finally managed to wrestle her into the water and get her cleaned up but she won't speak to me now. She's stopped humming and is sitting on the windowsill above my bed, pointedly not looking in my direction.
Day 4
I can't be entirely certain, but I think Hollie's eaten my Charms essay. It was on my bedside table last night, and now I can't find it, and she had a few little scraps of parchment in her fur when I picked her up earlier. On the up side, she appears to have forgiven me for the impromptu bath last night and is humming away once more. She's made a nest of my hair, though, and has taken quite the liking to sweets. I let her sniff at a bonbon earlier and she ate it right up. I'll continue feeding her puffskein pellets, but now I know I can give her the occasional treat when she behaves.
Day 5
Hollie's gotten into Gaia's bag and found the girl's stash of candies. We found her this morning beside a half of a ton-tongue toffee. She seems alright, but we're still laughing at the way she sounds now. Her hums sound like a broken horn after the toffee and we have no idea how long the effects will last. Thankfully the laughter doesn't seem to upset her, which is great because this could go on for quite some time.
Day 6
Hollie's hum is back to normal, but it took me a while to recognize her this morning as someone's gone and turned her a rather unflattering green color. I don't know how they've done it as finite incantatem didn't return her to her usual dark red, but she's happy as ever so I suppose it's not a big issue. I may have to keep her in a cage in the dormitory this afternoon, however, as I worry she'll get lost among the plants in the greenhouse at this colour. The last thing I want is for her to run into a venomous tentacula or meet some other unfortunate end because I can't find her.
Day 7
It's my last day with Hollie and I'm sad to have to give her back. She's grown on me, even with these awful allergies, and it would be nice to keep her around. Perhaps I'll be allowed to keep her. I'm sure that with a little more time, we could learn to coexist happily, and perhaps I'll find some sort of a potion to help prevent the sneezing so that she can continue to eat her natural favorite diet... though I'd prefer not to think about it...

Puffthing's Diary
Day One; Picked a brownish yellow puff. It seems quite happy to clean up everyone's leftover snacks in the common room. I'm not keen on letting anything stick its tongue up my nose while I'm sleeping though..., now where was that snot-nosed little first year sleeping?....
Day two; It's a good thing puffskeins are tough enough to be thrown about a bit. Whats her name, the first-year, was a bit startled when she woke up..., to say the least. I can still hear her shrieking upstairs, clear down by the fireplace in the common as I write. Puffthing is humming happily away next to me on the couch. It's really quite soothing to listen to. I think I'll put it in the hood of my cloak when I go to class. Sending Umbra to the joke shop with a couple galleons today. One of those trick wands that shoot boogers should be just what the Puffthing needs.
Day three; The other girls insisted I put Puffthing in a cage overnight. Luckily Umbra came back with the wand, so I filched some swiss cheese from the kitchen and filled all the holes with snot. Puffthing ate the boogers, and the cheese as well, and is humming happily away. I wonder if a puffskein can get overweight?
I honestly think that Puffthing's hum helps me concentrate. I didn't spill anything in potions class today, and I almost got my wiggenweld potion to the right shade of green. Prof actually complimented me! I'm still in shock.
Day four; Had fun in transfiguration class turning Puffthing into a crystal goblet and back again. It seems to enjoy having magic done to it, so after dinner some other students and I practiced our color changing charms on it. Puffthing is now bright Chartreuse with purple and blue stripes.
Day five; Puffthing eats live spiders and mouse poo, ugh! I just realized, I've never had to clean a mess up after it, I wonder if it eats it's own poo? It seems to eat anything and everything it can find. Chua informed me that we need to keep it, after Puffthing ate his shed skin, that snake is so fussy about cleanliness.
After looking Puffthing over carefully I believe it's a she.
Day six; The color charms have faded. Puffthing still has stripes but now they are brown on her original yellowish color. Can't find anything in the books about magic not lasting on puffskeins, still I really like this color combo.
I brought her down to the kitchen to find a really holey loaf of bread to put the boogers in tonight. Even the house elves love her. They passed her around and hummed with her until they had a regular harmony going. Never heard anything like it, like a surreal lullaby. I had to scoop Puffthing up and hurry back to the dungeon before they put me to sleep!
Day seven; Puffthing has definitely gained weight. I put her in the hood of my cloak to go to breakfast and nearly choked myself. I really think I'm going to get myself one of these. For something that just eats and humms she has sure grown on me, in more ways than one. Chua thinks I should "forget" to return her today. Larcenous little snake.
((IRL and the other rps I'm in all attacked at once. T.T Besides, I don't think I can top Garnet, so Katsumi flatly refused to take one home. It's for the best, really. I guarantee you that Cato would have tried to eat the thing, and that could only end poorly.))
The way some people spell makes me wonder about their pronunciation. My CW shop, and my ping group
Paddy welcomed the distraction from the Pegasus - as much as she wanted to get on with them, she couldn't shake off the feeling that they were just a bit too large and (even though she didn't want to admit it), slightly scary to be sitting on. Stroking them was ok, but she wasn't too confident about riding them, especially if they were going to be racing the length of the Quidditch pitch.
My Diary

Day 1: I don't know why everyone seems to think Puffskeins are useless, ok they might not be the most interactive of pets, but who wouldn't want a humming ball of fluff? Picking out a nice white 'skein, I stopped off at the library on the way back to the common room, to read up on protective charms just in case Snowden decided to use the Puffskein as a chew toy. I think I got the charm slightly wrong though, as this little ball of fluff changed colour to bright red, and seems to have glowing amber eyes. The library was due to close in a few minutes, so I couldn't hunt for a book that might explain it a little better - I'd just have to hope it does the trick.
Day 2: I've discovered a cure for the common cold.... a Puffskein does a fantastic job of clearing nostrils, although it is somewhat freaky to wake up and find it munching on my boogers. Snowden was very interested in the ball of fur, but once those eyes glowed amber, the pup backed off. I wonder if Puffskeins are meant to do that, or if it's a side effect from my charm-casting.
Day 3: I'm sure it's not just boogers this thing is eating, I've named it Puffy seeing as it already seems to have put a lot of weight on. I took Puffy to Herbology today, but had to take him (or is it a her?) back to the common room when he started eating the plants. It doesn't seem to have done him any harm, but he's been banned from the greenhouses. I left him with a plate of food I'd brought from breakfast, and had to run back to the greenhouses.
Day 4: There's no sign of the colour changing back to white and I'm beginning to think I might end up having to keep Puffy if he doesn't lose this intense colour. Actually, that wouldn't be such a bad thing, as Rodney has been cuddling up to the Puffskein overnight.
Day 5: Why did I take Puffy with me to flying lessons? They couldn't find any balls to practise basic Quidditch skills with, and someone suggested using Puffy. Thankfully the professor stopped them before he got dropped or injured, but I tucked him into the pocket of my robes for the rest of the session. It took a while for him to calm down, but he started humming after about 30 minutes, so I think he enjoyed the end of the lesson at least. I gave him a small piece of chocolate cake as a treat this evening, and other than the chocolate over his fur, he seemed to enjoy that too.
Day 6: Never try cleaning chocolate from a Puffskein! The chocolate from yesterday's cake had set on his fur, so I tried wiping it off with a damp cloth. Unfortunately, each time I got close to Puffy, he decided to try aiming his tongue at my nose, so in the end I gave up. The chocolate looks like strange brown highlights against his red fur, but I'm hoping he might lick it off before he has to go back.
Day 7: I've not been sleeping too well, but last night Puffy started humming just as I got into bed - I fell asleep almost instantly, and didn't even wake up when he started booger-hunting. That red colouring still hasn't worn off, and I'm a bit concerned that the other Puffskeins might not accept Puffy back into the group given that his eyes are still glowing amber at random times. Although I've never tried looking after a 'skein before, I've really enjoyed this week.... I really should've read up on protective charms first though.
(OOC: I couldn't resist it, and made my own Puffskein today:
He's shedding fur right now, but at least he shouldn't eat boogers :P)

The Pegasus went well, and certainly better than the werewolf session. Magnus petted Chase and conversed with Fade, happy that the other boy didn’t seem upset with him for the werewolf thing either. By the time the next meeting approached, a week later, the boy was completely recovered. It was also when the puffskiens were due back and as several people handed their week long pets back, Magnus informed them that those who wanted to keep them could. The shop owner agreed to this since he promised to pay for the ones his classmates kept.
First Prize winner: You may choose either the (which contains the item for the puffskien if you want it.) OR you may choose the with the
Second Prize Winner: I’ll send the remaining prize to you once I know which one Garnet would like.
Third Prize Winner Please set up a junk trade. That puffyskien plushie is adorable!
I wound up having to get a person to read these (earlier last night) that didn’t know you three; it was that close. Everyone did an amazing job and I thank you for being in the contest <3
Dragons
There was a large green dragon in the centre of the quidditch pitch, and off to the side a baby dragon. On a table was some broken egg shells. However, Magnus wasn’t noticing the students, he was too busy talking to two adults. One of which the club members had met previously, the ex-auror Unspeakable named Paul, who had taken over speaking after Magnus’ dad tried to rush the cage.
Paul looked even younger in his muggle attire, and his more relaxed demeanour. The other adult Magnus was talking to was a beautiful woman that was smiling brightly.
“Oh don’t be ridiculous, Magnus,” the woman said, “of course we are staying. As if I was going to let you carry on with the dragons on your own.”
Magnus said, “I thought the dragon ranchers were coming.”
“They couldn’t, one of the dragons is very ill. Your father got called into work and the best I could get was Paul and a those stunners over there.” The team of four stunners stood near the adult dragon who looked rather uninterested.
“Gee, thanks Stella,” Paul said with a smile, still amused. “Maybe I should’ve sent the twins, they’re just starting to walk so surely they are better than me.”
Stella ignored him. “As I was saying, I’m not about to let you get hurt.”
“But, Mum, this is different…”
“This is not negotiable. You get us or you can teach flobberworms today like your father suggested. Now,” she said playing with his hair, “surely you would rather have your mum here than a flobberworm, right? Oh look, you’re little friends are here!” She was beaming at the students.
Magnus gulped at her beaming, he knew she would be unable to help herself. “So, er… this is me mum, Stella,” he said to the club, “and o’ course Paul the unspeakable that ‘elped with the werewolf session. And these,” he said pointing to the adult and then infant dragon, “are the dragons. Welsh Greens they are. As you can see, they got two spiked ‘orns on its ‘ead .The adult is a male and rather ancient so ‘e ain’t really bothered ‘bout much of anything. Got stunners nearby though an’ ya can’t get too close. Dragons are considered the most dangerous animal in our world. Ya can’t train ‘em, they breathe fire and are pretty ‘ard to ‘ide. Some people ‘ave ridden ‘em before but don’t bother askin’ cos we aint allowed. We use pretty much every part o’ the dragon. The ‘eart is used as wand cores, the ‘orn is used in potions, their hides are used in clothing, even the dung is used in fertilizers. Now, whilst we can’t get too close to the adult, we got the baby ‘ere and if only one or two people pet ‘im at a time, we should be okay. ‘E can’t breathe fire yet so must you can get is a blister or two if ‘e sparks at ya.”
(first set of pings deleted to ping everyone)
((OOC: Holy doodle! I'd love the collection, please. I need that puffskein in my life! Thank you so much! Also yay, dragons!!!))
Aderyn waited in the great hall for Emmy () to come down so the two of them could head off to the quidditch pitch for the day's Care of Magical Creatures Club meeting. She glanced around, waiting for the other girl impatiently, wanting to get outside and see what they'd be covering that day already. When Emmy finally arrived, Aderyn grinned and hugged the other girl before tugging her along.
"Let's go!"
She dashed out the front doors to the castle and down the steps, heading toward the pitch with Emmy. Aderyn's eyes widened as they approached the quidditch pitch and their animal of the day came into view. She was fascinated by dragons, and Welsh Greens were her favorite, so seeing one up close was immensely exciting. Bouncing excitedly on her feet, she broke into a run as she headed for the pitch proper, yanking on Emmy's hand.
As she ran up closer, she slowed down, waving to Magnus, Paul, and a woman she didn't recognize.
"Hello!"
(( It should be there now :) Thank you for entering :) It was fun seeing what you all came up with xD ))
"Hello," Stella said beaming, "I'm Magnus' mum, Stella." Magnus smiled and said, "'Llo. This is me mum and mum this is Aderyn."
Aderyn smiled brightly and bowed her head a little in greeting as Stella introduced herself.
"Nice to meet you! I see we have a beautiful specimen here today! Where did he come from? Was he born and raised in captivity, or is he wild?"
She glanced over at the babe, too, and smiled. It was adorable, even though it would be able to eat them all in a single bite quite soon as it grew larger, and she inched slowly closer to it as not to spook it.
(OOC fun contest. Thank you! The key is going straight into Volante's TC!) Sam ambled onto the pitch chuckling as she rolled a rather obese, but happily humming puffskein from arm to arm like a quaffle. "Boy, I almost hate to have to returm thiiii... Ahhh! DRAGONS!!!!" The puffskein bounced as it hit the ground, totally forgotten, as Sam grabbed Magnus in a crushing hug. "I can't believe you really managed to bring us a dragon! That looks like a really ancient Welsh green..., and a hatching too? Oh Wow...." Sam babbled on about different dragons, inadvertently revealing the fact that she had apparently read every book ever written about the creatures.
(OOC: Yay! Thank you for the contest, and also for the 3rd place prize :D) :D
Carrying Puffy back to the CoMC group, Paddy wondered how the other Puffskeins would react to him with his glowing amber eyes. She was relieved to hear Magnus say anyone who wanted to keep their Puffskein could, but she was determined to not let Magnus pay for them all. "Tell me how much I owe you for Puffy," she said to Magnus, before noticing the two dragons. Her jaw dropped as she looked at the adult - she hadn't realised anything could be quite so.... well, huge! "How on earth did you manage to get dragons?" she added, tucking Puffy into her pocket for safety.

Aria ran back into class with a terrified and sad look on her face. She was very glad to see that Magnus was back to health after his horrific transformation injuries. She waited until there was a moment when she could talk to Magnus in order to explain her recent behaviors. () "Magnus," she started softly, "I'm really sorry for missing so much class recently. I've been in the hospital wing ever since the full moon. I've had a really bad case of Black Cat Flu and I was being quarantined." Aria explained while looking down at her feet. "Is there any way I can make up the work I missed so I won't recurve a bad grade? Please?" Aria looked up hopefully; she noticed that Dax was sitting beside her calmly looking at Magnus too.
While speaking to Magnus, Aria kept staring at Stella. She is so pretty and looks very kind too, Aria thought. She smiled at Stella and blushed when Stella noticed her and smiled back. Aria whispered to Magnus (), "Does she know who I am -- I mean, you know, that I'm going to be her," Aria hesitated before saying the word, "daughter?" She finished in a whisper so soft that a normal human might not be able to hear but Magnus did.
Aria almost sat down and cried after learning that she'd missed the Pegasus classes, but figured she might be able to see one a different day. She looked up at the hur green Dagon and was totally captivated. "I've never seen anything so large or magnificent!" She said to herself and Dax.
( Aria has not yet received a parcel from her father in owl post btw.)
(OOC: I'm sorry for being gone for a couple weeks - I just moved and it took until the 11 to get internet (not having it since March 22 has been difficult because my phone was incredibly slow!) and there's just so much to do that I feel swamped and hardly have time to sleep!! I really am getting close to having more free time though! lol Also the coconut dessrt ball is one of my more favorite wearable 'minions.' I am sad to have missed it. <3 I miss you guys - I'm trying to be active from here on out!)

I really really extremely want:Stella answered before Magnus could, "they are both from a Welsh Green farm near the house I grew up in. The farm owners allowed me to borrow the dragons."
Sam arrived thrilled at the dragons and almost broke Magnus with her crushing hug. His mother then said, "Oh! you must be Sam!" She then hugged the girl deeply and continued, "Oh you are too cute! I can see why you fancy her Magnus, she's adorable."
Magnus wanted to die on the spot, turning positively beet red. Aria was trying to speak to him but again Stella got there first. She grabbed Aria in a deep hug. "I would know you anywhere, my lovely daughter." She was beaming from ear to ear. "I was going to send something to you but then Magnus was injured and I knew I'd becoming here, so decided to give it to you in person." She pulled out a box filled to the brim with sweets. "Best selection from Honeydukes. I brought Magnus some pastries, since I learnt he doesn't like sweets much."
"You don't owe me nofing," he said to Paddy still embarrassed. "Mum got 'em, grew up near a dragon farm, she did."
(Ambition, its a club so nothing to make up :*)
Aria watching in good humor as Stella completely embarrassed ()Magnus. She was caught off guard when Stella, her new mom, threw her into a huge hug. Aria recovered her shock quickly and hugged her mom back tightly. "Oh my goodness!" Aria exclaimed as she received the huge amount of sweets, "thank you so much." Aria was beyond delighted with the gift, "You may have just found out one of my greater weaknesses: chocolate!" Aria giggled and looked more closely at the candy. "I wonder if there are any of those frog chocolates that Magnus gave me once. I bet Dax will still be scared of them!" Aria said conspiratorially to Stella.
((OOC: I know it's a club, but aren't the kids in class and (in theory) 'earning grades' for their 'work'? I know thre isn't any makeup work to actually do. I think I am confused! lol btw cool ha!))

I really really extremely want:( nope. He's just the club captain, the class is different. Just their free time ) "There's some chocolate frogs at the bottom," she said smiling, "that would be amusing to see him scared of them."
Aria reached into the bottom of the treat pile and found a chocolate frog. After opening the seal on the box she left the lid on and called Dax over to where she and ()Stella were standing. "Dax why don't you say hello to my new mom?" Aria asked Dax. "Stella, this is Dax, my mini snowy owl griffin," Aria said by way of introduction. "An introduction might not be necessary though, as I am sure Magnus has told you many things about Dax," Aria said with a wink at Magnus.
Dax looked up at Stella and and chirped softly before rubbing against his leg and falling to her feet, belly up, begging for pets.
Aria made a small hand gesture to Stella, motioning for her to stay standing. Aria opened the chocolate frog and it promptly leapt from the box, landing directly on Dax's belly. "Eaaakee!!" Dax let out an awkward screech in surprise and jumped up faster than a shooting star streaks across the sky. He ran around behind ()Magnus's legs and watched as the frog jumped around at Aria's feet. Aria giggled while watching his fear turn into curiosity as he began to creep forward between Magnus's legs.
