How do I get infected again?

I actually feel like this year the strains are all progressing much slower. Might be in general or because of the glitches but I think I was on my third strain by this point last year, while this year I'm only on my second. Hopefully it picks up though, I'd like at least a third one progressing this year before the event ends.

I hope my avatar will adapt to the change, too because so far I absolutely see no difference in progress speed.

Faster is better - I just wish mine would go faster too! lol
