Hahaha I haven't been to Neo for...before whenever they got rid of the Habitarium. Once I wasn't able to RS a profit there anymore, I left for greener pastures. Was at other sites for a while and then found Subeta and never looked back. n__n

Can't wait for new minimods! This will be great. More purple peeps running around.

There's something to be said for the 'if it's not broken, stop trying to fix it' vibe on neo. Too many people making too many changes. And maybe forgetting who the main user base were...

This site has done an amazing job of keeping the cash stuff in line with the site currency, as well as making gold accounts worthwhile without them being unfair. Tis a delicate harmony and it must be preserved! WEEEEEEEE!!!!

I know, right? I got sucked into that thing for hours and got all sad when I forgot it for two days and had to go back and repair everything! A server move is the excuse? Maaan, you'd think they'd keep it as one of the bigger draws. But what do I know.

Neo has so many broken things now, and hardly anything gets fixed. They barely even answer questions about them. Customer service over there is a huge pile of crap.

I very much enjoy the freedom we have here to talk about almost anything. It's nice being able to post without having to worry about whether it will get deleted or getting a warning for something utterly stupid.

They also had to get rid of Key Quest for the same reason, I believe. They keep saying they hope to bring it back eventually, but I don't see that happening as they also said they basically need to redo the entire thing. I've also heard rumors that most of the code for the site is a bundle of garbage, and that's why it's so difficult for things to get fixed over there. Combine that with a seemingly incompetent staff, or at least people who aren't as familiar with the site as the old staff since they laid people off, and you get a whole mess of problems that probably won't ever get solved.

I'm still wondering how much longer the site will last, the only thing keeping it afloat right now is the people who for some reason still buy NC and premium service.

The censorship achieved nothing, that was the thing that grated. Some people baited the staff/filters, most people just stopped chatting. How can you get a fun community vibe going without talking? Very sad.

People still chat, but I think the biggest problems right now are that the filters have problems and limit things you can say because they contain a "bad word" within them. Like you can't say "grape" because yeah. Also it wouldn't be so bad to only talk about on-site stuff like avatar collecting and all that, but it gets old when there's really nothing much to do on the site nowadays.

You're seeing masks already? I'm still having fun playing around with pandemic skins! I adore Masq, I truly do, but I know I'm not ready for it yet!

I was playing the site when they originally sold it. It was clear from the very first that the new owners didn't give a flying fluff for the userbase except as a means toward money, and I'm not surprised it's a mess of conflicting code. I mean, for all their efforts, Subeta's the same way (and by that I mean a mess of code because things get built over the years and it doesn't quite match so smoothly anymore), and neo's new owners clearly didn't care to spend the money to get the site running smoothly. So yeah, agree completely. I don't even remember key quest, for whatever that's worth. It's too bad. The site was really fun back in the day, and still has such potential. But it was totally squandered.

That sounds awful. :c Yes, all the tea, all the time! And yup, that was me. The moment I heard how easily and quickly and pointlessly people got targeted in the forums, I avoided the forums like the plague. I avoided everything except the dailies and a few games. Shame.

When I was still active on neo I always feared that I get my account frozen and so I was near to never at the forums. Only talked on the guild forums every few days. And still gor frozen 3 times because I used words that didn't even mean anything bad. I remember once I spelt "Weihnachten" (German word for christmas) without the "h" so it said "Weinachten" ans Wein means wine so I talked about alcohol and that's one reason I got frozen xD

I'm actually in my wardrobe right now trying to put a nice outfit together ^-^

I'll probably use a zombieskin with it like last year cause I love fashionable dancing zombies :P

Are you talking about the sale to Jumpstart? Because yeah, they haven't really seemed to care about the existing users at all, and for some reason they are still stuck on neo being a children's website even though there are plenty of adults and teenagers who contribute a lot to the site.

If only they could get some decent content people or writers or something, they could do more plots and other events and things like they used to. People would be more willing to play if there was stuff to do. But as it is, they got rid of the old staff and have a bunch of new people who don't know and don't care. It's sad, and even though they are releasing new content as far as items go, some of it has been really lazy. I know I and some other people have noticed some of the newer items have literally just been copied from stock images. It's terrible.

The chat these days by definition has to be very bland. Still makes me laugh that any verson of 'pass' was banned in case of password theft.

I do too! Especially when they're really fashionable. My first Masq I spent half of it in a skeleboytar outfit. It was fantastic.

I mean back in like, 2001 when the original creators and owners sold it to whatever communications company decided it looked like a good investment. From that moment on it startd sliding fast downhill. It sounds like things are even worse now.

When they instituted essentially a pay to play option "you get the BETTER search if you pay for it!" that was one of the last straws for me. Just, nope. If you can't play a site and have fun without paying, then that's not a site I want to stick around for. If I'm enjoying myself I'll throw money at it.

I keep thinking every once in a while I should stop back in, if only to see how many months I have stocked up under that badge now. But...it's just not worth it.

Yeah, that's when things first started to get bad. But it is even worse now, they sold it again like a couple of years ago, I think. It's just really bad now.

And well, the items are still drawn to fit the neopets style I guess. But they have definitely used stock images for references.

the problem is with the censorship is that they need it to some degree because they allow people under 13 on the site. it's awfully strict though. yeah the site is too big, people don't care the same way they do here.

I'll probably need at least one day to design it right cause my strain hasn't finished yet though ^^ And the filters were the most stupid thing ever, I mean you don't even have to talk about anything they don't want you to talk about, you actually don't even have to use the exact word you just have to use a word where a word they don't like is in and you don't even realize it at first cause its just a normal word little kids use too xD
