The Joker Shield was bought out of the Search. It looks like it was selling pretty low earlier today, but it's a tier 3 shield, so I don't think that's it.

Yes. All of my pets are tier 1 except for my (in-training) battle pet, who is tier 3. I beat him initially with one of my tier 1 pets, and now none of them, tiers 1 or 3, can beat him. xD

Could it be timed? Maybe the shield trick only works the last 15 minutes of every hour -- or something like that. Then we would not only need to figure out the other possible solutions, but also discern when they each work.

Well what if the method for the first five has to do with pet id last digit or something? It would help to know what the item that used to work was

- I suppose that confirms that it has changed. Unless it is tied into pet colour/species somehow. (I know wanted to do something where pet colour affected battle results in some way at some point)

if hikei grooming brush shield was really the item required then this challenge is just silly. I'm not sure how a connection could be made between the two. If its just randomly trying every item until one works... bleh... I was thinking it'd be something cool or thoughtful, but maybe I'm just missing the connection, or it was just an accident that that worked.

I'm going off the basis that he changes every time. Just tried these again and they did not work:

Okay so I bought and used that (unsuccessfully) almost immediately after dumb shield was mentioned so unless I my timing was outside of the limit, then I dont think it is timing based.
