You can definitely sub the Minotaur knocker for frost thorn. Frost thorn doesn't heal but it does have a freeze chance which with the RIoD's freeze chance makes freezing each turn extremely probable.

But the knocker has potential to keep you alive longer with its heal and block. I'd try it before dropping the sp on the frost thorn :)

Scratchcards are usually cheaper than stat boosters, but they are unpredictable and time consuming. Though after getting scarred by the mage (turned in 30 amulets and got zero tomes), I don't mind it. My personal range of stat gain was 1 in 10-20 cards scratched. El cheapo is my middle name sooooo yeah, I'm going to go with scratchcard boosters tehe. X)

I think the spread of icons really encourages stronger pets, weaker pets just can't handle it very well.

your pet is early to mid t9 too? even with AoN it took awhile to get lucky and beat him. I bet if I used my STS instead of somas it woulda helped a bit more, but meh. annoying fight. all I proved is that it can be done, but it probably shouldn't be done.

I wasn't paying attention to icons done by the shadow, but yeah, he is quite impressive. Do you have recycle blaster and soma tablets? So worth it. My strategy with him was: 1. freezer + soma tablets + fatal fire scroll 2. (when he's frozen) two attack weapons + attack scroll like gelaspell 3. attack weapon + recycle blaster + morosbane scroll and then it was a matter of seeing how much hp I had left and knowing how much he could hit me for and being conservative about it by using shinwas temple shard / phoenix quill / reviver of the lion to heal / defend.

Though at t7, you probably need to pay attention to icon type, so I am afraid my strategy is too general. :s Would totally recommend getting the weapons I mentioned though as they all can be used at t7. (also rainbox vortex)

I will say that it has been a big reason for why I've been a lot less active on Subeta lately, although I do feel my daughter was worth it.

, I use the Morostide and about 3 cobalt and i use Terra Focujin

mod your reborn icewand of doom with two parched baguette crystals or blessing of natural armor tear crystals, mod your minotaur knocker with one. it's a shame these weapons only have 2 and 1 mod slot, but the blessings from these mods will make sure you can't get frozen, making the battle considerably easier if you can get the blessings to proc.

opposite icons don't do anything, there's no concept of opposite icons here there's offense and defense if he's doing :dmg:earth:, you need to do :block:earth: if he's doing :block:earth:, and you do :dmg:earth:, you will do less damage depending on how much he blocks

Aw, it's okay. xD Nope, this isn't like pokemon. So really, you're looking for what your opponent attacks you with because you want to defend against it (the weapon will have the icon with an X over it so you know that means defend). You also want to know what he defends against (or rather what he doesn't defend against), so you know which weapons to use.

Also, for what it's worth, I recently made a holy deluge scroll. Seems to be the cheapest decent healer to make. At least that was the case a few weeks ago. May be the case now if you wanna make one. n__n Also, you can borrow my weapons/scrolls if you'd like (heading offline but poke me via comments if you want and I'll lend em out tomorrow :)).
