Thanks for the update! Hope all of the issues will be resolved and that subeta will keep on rolling through 2016 with no more problems like this one.

Who in their sane mind thinks "hey I'm gonna DDoS a petsite that doesn't make any difference whatsoever in my own personal life instead of celebrating the year-end holidays, ruining the new year celebrations of this site's staff"?

Who can be lonely, bored and malicious enough to do something like this?

Seriously, whoever did it needs a hobby. Maybe they should register a Subeta account and see how fun the site actually is. (If their frozen hearts allow for it.)

All in all, I hope everything was solved in the technical end and that no one here lost their New Years celebration because of site issues.

I hope whoever did it gets punished for it. Here's to a much less chaotic start to 2016! cheers

These DDOS attacks are still because of the Longcat incident? That happened in April/May 2007, I seriously think it's time "someone" grows up and gets a life before they find themselves scrubbing toilets in the penitentiary. I'm curious, do you have any way to track this attack and sue "someone" for damages? Congrats on your birthright trip, hope you had a fabulous time! Happy New Year, I pray 2016 is good to you.

Just got home, haven't gone through pages yet, but are you able to identify the attackers specifically? Since it was directly targeted at Subeta, it could be a disgruntled Subeta user or a group of them (and if so, IP ban the shit outta them and make their username well-known so we can blacklist them forever). ?

ugh people who do things like this are just horrible. taking a little pleasure away from so many. i had my first day off work for 2 weeks, i just wanted to spend the day messing about on subeta, and i couldn't. it totally threw me off! but you guys must have worked so hard! so amazing job! hats off to you all! thank you so so much1

(and anyone else who cares) the 4chan thing had to do with Longcat (if you recall that meme), and 4chan getting up in arms over it (for reasons I've never really gotten) back in early '07. Long story short, the site got DDOS'd to hell and back until the item was replaced by Draconis. Occasionally the children that still care about the chans like to cause a ruckus on here because why not, basically. The intervening years have made it dumb easy to be a script kiddy and DDoS sites if you really want to.

Still, I hope your birthright trip (I honestly don't know what that is but it sounds interesting!) was fun , and hopefully the gremlins that occasionally pop up either in the code or by human proxy stay silent for the rest of the year!

So if the site was attacked, is any credit card data at risk? Sorry if you answered this question already, posting this via phone and can't scroll through the forums that well.

Maybe not. There are other DDoS attacks on the internet today, including this one affecting the site where I work and this one directed at the BBC.

Anonymous at work again? Jfc. Think I heard they're out for any site using Cloudflare, because supposedly ISIS uses CF for their websites?

That was what the article that got linked the last time cloudflare got DDoS'd said. Dunno if it was ever proven to be accurate or not but when has accuracy ever stopped the Legion that is Anonymous?
