"That's not a problem." Nalta assured them both. He formed the Hitsuji hand sign and channeled his energy. Once his magicka was built up, he followed Hitsuji with tora, inu, and tatsu then encantating with a smooth, calm tone, "Secret Shadow Style: Shadow Cloak."

Following his words, his shadow extended from his feet and engulfed the girl, then the whole black mass faded from sight. His shadow looked a little extended to the trained eye, but no one was going to notice her. "Okay, you have to stay close to me, or the jutsu will be broken and you'll be unveiled. He said to where she was still standing, yet invisible. "If you're ready, follow me." He added, beginning toward the door.

Nunque awoke from his fit in a comfortably familiar state. Restraint was something he was used to. It almost made him feel safe, at home. He smiled and observed the markings around him, searching them for stars or anything star-shaped with a big, silly smile on his face.

The corruption in his left eye had spread significantly. Almost the entirety of his left sclera was blackened, and tiny black veins extended over his top and bottom eye lids on that same eye. "That's strange," he suddenly thought aloud, "the voices are gone." He made a childish concentrating face with his tongue sticking out as he searched for the aforementioned voices.

[ I'm having so much fun with this Naruto style magic. I placed the actual names of the hand signs so you guys can look up what they look like if you want. And that portrait looks amazing! I've never had anyone draw one of my characters before! We should do this more often]

Brows would furrow as muted plum ears folded against her skull. He spoke with a calm confidence, as she watched the shadow stretch and creep closer to her. Instinctively she grimaced as if to await for some kind of out lash or striking blow. Tension wouldn't loosen from her shoulders even when she realized that there was no harm done. Whiskers upon the face of the scarred tiger quivered as his own rounded ears would pull forward. While his companion had been doused in this invisible veil, his senses remained keen. Informed that she was to keep close caused an ear to twitch to indicate that she was listening. There was the potential of being unveiled if she tread too far. The tiger would retrieve Morgäna's things to the best of his ability – shuffling papers and torn clothes into the messenger bag. It was difficult, considering he didn't have thumbs. Though after several minutes he would have lantern handle and the bulk of the bag within jowls. Black indigo eyes would turn to look back at the muted plum wolf. Black paws would begin to move across the cold tile as she tread slowly. Such a mess today, Uciliece. The tiger would glance towards the wolf with silent tease.

Her eyes were like daggers, in which the tiger found enticingly amusing. Shattered glass in the classroom from the overhead light fixtures and the womens bathroom had a newly blood spatter painting smeared along tile with paw prints scuffled in random placement with her movement and shifting-phase. ”You're lacking your books still.” he noted with an inquiring growl, noticing the weightless messenger bag in his jowls, accompanied by Envy lantern. Its light flicking with mild agitation to be partnered with faux cloth-leather. Morgäna broke her gaze from the tiger as she turned her head away without reason. “Let's just go.” evasive of the subject among many other things she would begin to follow Nalta with heavy reluctance, eventually finding her tigers side to lean against not long into the walk. Silently hoping that whatever their new destination was, wouldn't be too far.

"Nunque." Raia's voice was sharp. She did not find his childishness amusing. "Are you frequently unable to keep yourself from attacking people? Is this a common occurence?" Beside the professor, Amuné's eyes widened slightly as her thoughts flitted back to something the man had said, right when she'd met him. That it had been lucky for the policeman that she'd turned up. What had Nunque been planning on doing?

Outside Maybelle Library

The air before the trio exiting the library wavered, and a translucent image of a student appeared. Blue eyes blinked at them from behind a pair of glasses. She was dressed for winter weather, with a scarf around her neck and a hat covering most of her brown hair,

leaving only her low ponytail visible. "You're sharp," she said to Nalta. "It would have been more fun if you weren't, but I guess I can't surprise everyone." Her gaze flicked to the tiger, then to the library door, before returning to the new teacher. "You're missing someone," she added. "Or maybe, clever fellow like you, you've got her hidden. That'd explain you dashing off, if something went wrong and you had to swoop in to rescue her." She grinned. "You know, in a book that would be a good start to a romance."

"She's right, books aren't important right now, besides-" Nalta was cut off by a voice. It was the ghost. "Yes, well, if you've got something to say, do so quickly or be gone." He ordered, "I don't have time for-"

This time he stopped on his own. Judging by her clothes, she'd been dead for a long time. Maybe she had answers. "Have you ever seen this before?" He asked almost frantically as he pulled out the Aegis from under his shirt and held it up for her to see.

Nunque continued to search the walls, avoiding eye contact with the teacher. "You're crazy." He said ironically, "I'd never attack an innocent person." His gaze stopped on Amuné, "I've been looking for her. I had hoped she would help me find Marcus."

He felt a little betrayed and it was evident in his voice. The last he remembered he was in her room and this teacher walked in. Now he was imprisoned. "Tell me," he was sounding oddly sane as he spoke, "are you two working with him?" His voice grew more angry as he spoke, "did he get to you first?" He began to raise his volume, "where is he, huh? Is he here?" Then he began to full-on shout at them, his face turning red and spittle flying from his mouth as he scolded them, "I trusted you! I came to you for help and you've betrayed me! Why!? Why, sister!? Why!? After all he's done to us, I'll kill him!" He trailed off into a pathetic sob and a whisper, "I... I was so close.. I needed to save you... I needed to win.. But.. Now I can't."

There was a pause and then quiet, eerie laughter, then silence again before a different voice came from the same person.

"Tell me, Raia Therust, what's a thousand minus seven?"

Despite being invisible, the tiger was able to feel some weight against his side in evidence that Morgäna was beside him. It was understood that squabbling about her lacking study material would be the least of their worries at the moment. Though cut mid-sentence as the temperature deterred as the three of them would exit through the doors of the library. Alabaster eyes would blink as she noticed the young specter appear, dressed in winter weather despite the relatively comfortably warm weather. Muted plum ears would flick with a curious tilt of her head. Tiger too was rather bemused by her light commenting tease, only to hear a light scoff come from his side. “Hardly.” heavy breath huffed from her lips, hindquarters plopping to the concrete walk-way. “I don't need rescuing.” Morgäna couldn't help but envy the girl – though it would be rude to ask the dead how they faired the afterlife.

Black indigo eyes would blink as both he and his companion had noticed the complete composure change to occur from the teacher-aide. Almost like a trigger had set him off in a frantic surprise. Almost as if he might've found answers to something. Delicate wolfish nose would twitch absently, curious of the object in which he was showing. She wouldn't show it however – not that she was even visible to begin with. Not even sure where he had intending on leading, perhaps, Morgäna thought, that she would be better off just staying put. She hadn't managed to muster up the energy to shift back yet. It would be a while given her current state.

"Ah! So she is here," the ghostly girl proclaimed in triumph, hearing Morgana speak. She sobered at Nalta's question, and moved forward to take a look at his necklace. A frown creasing her forehead. "Um...no, I don't think so. I mean, it's not like I get a good look at much jewelry out here, y'know?" She sighed and stepped back, her expression regretful. "I wish I could, but I'm not really the best person to ask, anyhow. I am -- er, I was -- a mundane -- until that jealous twit got me killed." Anger passed over the young woman's features for a moment. "I'll keep an eye out, though. Good luck."

"You attacked first her, then me," Raia replied calmly. "Neither of us meant you any harm." She glanced at the student when Nunque gave a name to the one he sought. "The demon I described," Amuné supplied quickly. She fell silent as the mad seer worked himself up, though he sounded lucid, at least for the moment. At the accusation of betrayal her eyes narrowed, and she had to visibly resist a retort. Raia waited until Nunque quieted again before she replied. "I do not think I have ever encountered the person you showed Miss Ris. Certainly he is not on this campus."

The professor blinked at the change in his voice, wary of what it might mean. "Nine hundred ninety-three. What does math have to do with this?"

Nunque dropped his head, the smile from before spread across his face. "Nunque is not the dangerous one. Nunque is like a child." He said, "nine hundred ninety-three. Nine hundred eighty-six..." He began to count backwards from a thousand as he positioned the foot of the leg bearing the magic seal on its toes. "Nine hundred seventy-nine." He pressed foreward and downward, "nine hundred seventy-two." Tendons popped as they tore and bones crunched as they broke. With the other foot, he slid the cable tie off of his leg and his dangling foot now that he could position it to do so.

"I am the dangerous one." He said once the cable was off. At the same time a strong magical force rose in the room. A pentagram with the letter "M" in the open center of the star spontaneously burned itself into his forehead and the backs of his hands. He lurched forward with confidence. The chair went with him in account of the, but so do the fire spewing from his mouth.

Raia didn't waste time, once she saw what the possessed man intended. "Adom. Take Amuné and go," she commanded, moving backwards herself but not looking away from Nunque. The golem scooped up the student and went to the edge of the room, moving with haste. He pressed his free hand to the wall, and no sooner did the exit portal appear than he was through it, and it closed behind him.

The professor cursed her error in judgement. She had underestimated the stranger; she'd never encountered corruption quite like this and had thought the restraints enough to contain him. She hadn't prepared a magic circle, and with Adom making sure the Seer got clear, she had no way to do it now. As magic surged from the man in the center of the room, Raia reached the edge of the room. She figured the golem and Miss Ris had been given enough time to leave the antechamber by now, and her assessment was correct. The portal opened for her and she dove through. The professor paused in the smaller room beyond, moving to the center of the design in the floor. She had to seal the room before she left; she couldn't risk the creature Nunque had become breaking free. The containment room wasn't keyed to him, so the portal shouldn't open, whatever he tried, but there was no sense taking chances. In her years of teaching, she'd never had to do this before outside of training, but the spell still came easily to her, flowing from her to the glowing runes on the portal's frame and extinguishing them.

Raia turned and exited the antechamber, which served as a magical airlock for the containment room. The rooms were actually held in pocket dimensions for security reasons, and as she shut down the portal in the hallway beyond, it severed the connection to that pocket. Five other portal frames, their runes winding delicately around their borders, glowed gently at intervals around the room. The professor could tell by the colors that none were in use at the moment.

Golem and student waited for her by the stone and metal pedestal that worked as both status display and keyholder. Raia placed her hand on the third spot, now dark as obsidian, and felt the gentle touch of magic as the system revoked her permissions. "What now, Professor?" Amuné asked hesitantly. The young woman was equal parts frightened and concerned, and Raia privately commended her self-control. "Now I gather a team to handle this," Raia replied. "Adom, I want you on it. Sephix can be our gatekeeper." The professor pulled out her phone, and noted that admin had already messaged her. The golems' network had no doubt reported in, though she was surprised to have a reply so soon. "Take Nalta?" she murmured. "I've never worked with him before...well, I suppose I don't have a choice." She quickly sent texts to the new teacher as well as two other members of staff, detailing what she knew, the goal of capture and restraint, and her location. It wasn't an emergency, not with the containment room sealed, but the longer they waited the more time Nunque would have to prepare for the counterattack he doubtless knew would come.

Let down, Nalta put the Aegis pendant away just as his phone vibrated in his pocket. He retrieved it and looked at the message. After taking in the details, his brow furrowed in frustration. How was he going to take care of Morgäna if he had to leave. He sent a message back to Raia, detailing his own situation and informing her that his student may be following him.

He looked to where she would be, and spoke. "Can you fight in this state?" He asked in all seriousness.

As he waited, he repeated the hand sign series from before when he summoned the bandage and incantated, "Summoning jutsu: field kit."

There was a poof of smoke as a knapsack appeared before him, which he caught in the air. He opened it, removing its contents and going over them. His longcoat was folded up on top of a handful of scrolls, some blank, some bearing runes. There was a single spell tome and finally a pair of modified, ergonomically contoured pistols.

The pistols were special. They did not fire bullets, although they looked and we're just as deadly as normal guns. The special materials and innerworkings were designed to accept small amounts of magicka and fire them like a projectile in whatever form the user desired. They weren't perfect, however. The spell that made this possible was a rune spell. And everyone knows that runes can only be used so many times. They way the weapons functions was very much like a regular firearm. A magazine containing a certain number of cartridges went into the handle. Each cartridge was made of the materials needed for the spell and bore the rune needed to initiate it. As the user loaded the magazine, he or she had to charge it with magicka so the weapon could be fired.

Nalta had several different kinds of ammunition, including holy light rounds, hellfire rounds, a number of elemental rounds, and a special kind he called "nope" rounds, or "nopes".

He threw the black longcoat on. The bottom of it was just above his ankles but it maintained his lanky look. Inside the coat was an array of scroll pockets, which he filled with his scrolls. It had built-in shoulder holster in which he placed his pistols along with a couple magazines. He left the rest of his magazine stock in the light grey, single-strapped knapsack. He summoned a rune page, special paper squares about four inches in dimension, and inscribed a simple, short range transfer seal on it and charged it with magicka, much like his seabag of belongings in his room. He magically fused the page to his knapsack before slinging it onto his torso. That way he could quickly summon forth any one of his magazines at a time if he needed different effects.

He checked the magazines he already had loaded. They were holy light rounds, perfect for demons.

Muted plum ears would twitch with benign curiosity as the girl would briefly mention her previous life and cause of death. Much to her dismay, they had been interrupted with the slightest buzzing noise of a vibrating phone which came from the teacher-aide. Absently, alabaster eyes would watch as the pendant would be shielded away, right ear twitched with tugging envy and disdain once it was out of sight. Black indigo eyes of the tiger would blink with curious inquiry of the newly formed frustration which painted across the mans' face. Rounded ears would perk with surprise, speechless of the question – combat? Now? Morgäna was quiet for what seemed like several minutes. She could feel the ache within her bones from her shifting and the stinging burn from torn wound. Tiger pressed concern, slightly agitated he was not able to view the woman to get a better look at her in her current state. “I'll be fine.” she finally murmured. There was a hint of hesitance which lingered on her tone, potentially lying. Another question did linger about her head, teasing her tongue. From the background, invisible still, she watched the man would then summon a knapsack, catching it in the air. Head would tilt to the side remaining quiet still as she watched in sightless inquiry.

Black indigo eyes would look to where Morgäna would be with a chastising glower. Scarred features would watch the man for a moment as the long coat would be dressed. Messenger bag would adjust around his neck and shoulders, with envy lantern clasped comfortably within his jowls. The white impish light would dance with playful jest, bouncing euphorically as if pleased to be in motion. It offered a soft glow beneath evening light. Abnormally long tail would brush at her toes. “What …” she paused for a moment, trying to find her words. Amethyst gem around her neck would spark harmlessly, following a heavy breath as if the wind had been knocked from her lungs. Thankful she was hidden beneath this invisible cloak-concealment, Morgäna struggled to keep her composure. “... What is to be fought?”

(Sheffield Hall), containment room 3

Down two flights of stairs in Sheffield, a long hallway held the practice rooms, and beyond that, a double door lead to the shorter hall with the portals to the containment rooms. When Nalta and Morgana arrived, Raia was waiting for them. A second security golem, this one slightly taller than Adom, was standing by the control pedestal, one large hand resting in the middle of the circle of runes and speaking to the professor. Amuné stood near the wall, out of the way of the others in the room. She looked at the new arrivals as they entered, but turned her gaze down and away before she could meet their eyes.

"Interesting technique." A middle-aged man with dark hair and darker eyes pushed himself off the wall he'd been leaning against and made his way forward. He too was looking at Nalta's group, but his gaze was fixed on the hidden Morgana. "That's not traditional shadow magic, at least not a form I've encountered before." His smile was bright in his deeply tanned face as he extended a hand toward Nalta. "Val Kyran, shadow mage. This is my assistant, Senki. She'll be staying back with the young Seer." A younger woman, probably barely out of college, lifted a hand in greeting. She was clearly inhuman, with grayish-olive skin and glowing yellow eyes.

Raia finished speaking to the golem at the pedestal, and turned to face Nalta. "This is Sephix, and Adom," she told him, indicated the two golems. Adom nodded to the new arrival, while the other just looked at him. "Sephix will serve as our gatekeeper. She is the only person in this team that will be able to open the outer portal for us to leave, once we enter. If you'll place your hand on the third rune there, she'll give you the spell that will let you open the inner portal. We're waiting on one more to complete this team."

"A Demon." Nalta answered coldly. He had gon into full combat mode. He led the way to th place Raia had specified.

[FF>>>]

Nalta accepted Val's greeting, shaking his hand. "You're correct, it's my own creation; a combination of shadow magic and genjutsu." He said, not concerned with whether or not the man was caught up on anime. "However, I need to reset my magicka and she no longer needs hiding." He added, turning to Morgäna and forming the tora hand sign followed by the same command he used on Morgäna's ward. The shadow cloak dispersed all at once, revealing the shifter girl again.

Nalta turned to Raia, taking in her information as he popped a food-pill designed to refill his energy and help his magicka regenerate quickly. The downfall was that it tasted like old bark. "Alright, sounds good. Here's the thing, that guy wreaked of fire demon when we saw him before, and I'd bet he's going to lead with that." He acknowledged Amuné and Morgäna, "lesson one in tactical magic, demon fire burns everything. Even the stone on the walls will burn. I've even seen demons dispel wards by lighting them on fire, although that takes a pretty powerful demon. Raia and I are familiar so we should lead, backed up by Kyran Sensei and you two can act as support. Amuné, I'm going to need to know exactly how long it'll take for him to launch his attack once we're in there so that I can deploy the Aegis and block it. He seems like he's a little off his rocker so a big first attack is most likely. Once his attack is blocked he's going to be low on magicka for a while. That's where Raia and Kyran Sensei can finish him off. Sound good?"

This was all too familiar to Nalta. It'd been years since his last hunt but it felt like he never left it. It felt right, and his strategies were usually like this. Simple and effective. That was his motto.

Nunque lay on the floor, still partially strapped to the chair. He was confused. How had he ended up there? He couldn't remember. Where were Amuné and the teacher? He had been mean to them, and they had left. He felt horrible for how he had yelled at them. "I'm sorry sister, I'm sorry white-hair-lady." He said to the floor as he bagan to cry pathetically.

"Them? No, I made them leave. They were going to hurt us." A voice said. Not really a voice. For of a feral snarl. A bellowing growl. Nunque looked up from the stone floor to see Marcus, Demon of Rage standing before him. He was huge and muscular but had the skin of a snake and eyes to match. His grey hair mostly hiding his gas-masked face.

"Us? No, they wouldn't hurt me." He corrected the demon. "You're the one who needs hurt, your the one who will die!!" He screamed, squirming around to get free. The demon disappeared, stopping Nunque in his tracks as the voice came from all directions.

"Idiot. I. Am. You." The words echoed in the room that now looked like a void to the insane man.

He looked at his hands, confused. He turned them over to view the symbols on the backs. His face twisted in horror as a force extends all of his limbs, obliterating the chair as the room came back into his vision. He was floating in the air as he shrieked in pain and fear while the corruption creeped along his left eye, eventually encompassing the entire sclera, changing the iris color from amber to white.

When he fell to the floor, landing on his feet, Nunque was somewhere in that mind, but the one who was ready to fight the inevitable group who would come was a new Marcus. He began to charge his magicka, fueling it with Nunque's pain. All he was have to do would be take a breath once they were in, and it would all be over. Marcus had the strongest hellfire there was. Nothing could block it except dragon magic, and dragon magic was lost in myth.

[small]A demon? From one place to the other was taxing, paws trailing down two flights of stairs as she trailed behind Nalta until their destination reached. Entering a room, Morgäna noticed the girl from the courtyard earlier in the day, the white haired woman and a few other instructors and two golems. Brows would furrow as she shrunk away finally released of the shadow that kept her concealed from human eye. White tiger companion would brush against the muted plum side of the shifter maiden as she remained in her canine-form, has he noticed her staggering. Black indigo eyes would trail to the small group which had gathered, insight given by the professor as she introduced unfamiliar faces. Morgäna expressed a quiet interest in the golems, their shape and form an interesting sculpture. Muted plum ears twisted forward, partially listening to the instructions which were given the shifter woman would assume some sort of plan.

Her stomach churned with a wave of nausea. Ears folding against her skull as her nose dipped downward. The small gem around her neck remained active with the occasional spark and soft illuminating glow. She was more concerned that she would unintentionally strike someone other than the given target. Since the strain of her shifting and her magic still trying to restore itself, electrical pulse flared occasionally without her control. “Should I fight in your stead?” Tigers baritones hummed like the ebbing waves of thunder billowing through a valley of a summers storm, question arising in tone. He would look to she then to Amuné, assuming she was still closer towards the wall, with a curt tilt of his head. “No.” she would simply remark, finding no means to argue. There wasn't much room, let alone time for petty squabbling. Aggravated sigh heaved from his lungs, rounded ears folded atop his head in a straight light across. You need to rest. he would look at her, telepathic thoughts would cater between one another only by their bond.

Morgäna would then ignore him as she sluggishly pulled away from he and lantern-light which continued to hang from his jowls. Envy would flick before its flame would disappear then quickly reappear as if to retort with defiance. “Let's just get this over with.” [/small]

((It didn't snow, and it didn't snow, and it didn't snow...and then it snowed a foot overnight. -.-

YES I WANT PUPPY PICTURES WHEN THEY COME!

Sorry for the delay, guys, this post just took me a while. c.c ))

"I can't tell if you're stupid or just hate students." A tall woman in denim and leather strode into the room, a crossbow resting against her shoulder. She was easily fifty years old, her face weathered and her close-cropped blond hair shot through with gray. "We're not taking students into a confrontation like this, particularly when one of them is all but dead on her feet already. That's a recipe for disaster. I could see an argument for taking the Seer there, but it's still a risk -- and it's our hide if anything happens to her in there. Not to mention the paperwork. Sorry I'm late, Raia, I was off-campus when I got your text."

The white-haired professor just nodded. "It's fine, Naceren, but please don't give Nalta too much of a hard time. It will look bad if you chase him off on his first day." "Like I care what admin thinks," came the sharp retort. "I know, but still." The older woman made a face and directed her attention to Val, asking to see his darts and starting to cast something on them with holy magic. Raia turned to face Nalta. "I have to admit, she has a point about the students, but I'm willing to listen to why you believe they should come with. However, I need to make it clear that the goal is to subdue and restrain this man if at all possible, not kill him. If I simply wanted him gone, I would have purged the room. I am reluctant to say the man beneath the corruption is beyond help. He does have command of dark flame, as you mentioned. It's a rare skill -- I only know of only a couple that can use it, and as you said, the stronger the demon, the more difficult the materials he can burn, with few exceptions.

"Fortunately, one of the exceptions is the room he's in. I'm not certain about any spell circle Adom might construct, but the room itself will be fine. Nalta, I'm going to presume your Aegis is another. Both my armor and Adom are at least resistant -- being hit will be unpleasant, to say the least, but won't light us up immediately. Adom, you're taking us in, but as soon as we're there I want you to raise a ring of arches around the room so Val can move freely."

The golem dipped his head in acknowledgement. "It shall be done as swiftly as I am able." His voice was a deep rumble. "But they will not be as strong as the room -- any sustained effort will set them alight." "That's alright," the shadow mage replied, placing the last of his darts back in the pouch at his side. "If there's several of them, it'll take him time to burn them all -- and that's time we won't let him have. But you should know, Nalta, I'm best as a ranged fighter. Raia and Adom are the melee fighters here."

The way some people spell makes me wonder about their pronunciation. My CW shop, and my ping group

ooc: waiting on before I respond. But just to give you two an update

Faye has had two puppies so far, the first one she had, unfortunately did not make it. He was breeched and a big boy at that. we tried to get him out as quickly as we could without harming him or mom, Faye just was giving up pretty quickly because he was so big and came feet first. We currently do have one vivacious little boy right now who hasnt stopped fussing since he came into the world. <3 I'm not taking the loss very well, however. I know shes a first time mom but I really, really wanted a healthy litter and he would have been a handsome little man.
