I think they're taught to be calm around people??? They also have set breaks too so they aren't overstressed. You're not allowed to bother the ones who are "sleeping." (This is the same for all animal cafes in Japan, and there are many types!)

Generally, you point at an owl you'd like to hold, and a handler will let you hold him. You can pet the owl, using a finger or two, gently and only on it's head. And uh.. people usually go there to take a lot of pictures with then holding all the different owls they can before the hour is up XD;

And if you want to own an owl, you can also buy one from the cafe :)

ah I see :D erm, having a pet owl is kinda strange... xD (especially since I've been in an owl shelter 2 years ago, and it was like... what the hell people, if you decide to get an owl at least research what it is good for... pretty much nothing, and the bigger ones cost a lot to feed... and they eat cute little animals, you have to get used to it) Yeah owls are all right around humans if they were raised like that. Where I work we have animal shows every month, and they have owls, too. You can't pet them, but they won't freak out even if there are 50 screaming kids around them (I do freak out, however :B )

Yeah, ahaha. I heard owls were pretty expensive. My friend still wants to get one though. She's saving up money in her account.

I think a lot of pets, excluding cats and dogs, are like that too. Fish, turtles, snakes... They are don't really do anything, but people still enjoy them as pets!

not so sure about turtles. Or precisely tortoise. One of my colleague rescued a tortoise a few months ago, and she keeps telling us how weird that little tortoise is. Like it's listening to her voice, going to her when she calls. Almost acting like a dog. Never heard such a thing about a reptile before.

Hm, maybe little owls are better then :D they are small, and some of them are eating insects, so no cute little animals are killed to feed them :D And since they are really little they need smaller cage as well. I've fallen in love with a little owl species, but doubt I'll ever get one (I even researched price and breeders and such LOL)

Interesting! We have a tortoise ourselves and it's only clear that it likes only one person in the family, my sister. LOL

the owls are from trivia (some might be CS, not sure), but the wands were from Reading Drive. They are available in the Antique shop for... a lot of sp ><; ----- just checked them, they are over 10 mil sp :S

This year 2015 was horible, i was ill all of it from the winter, than broke my leg really bad, had 2 surgeries on it, stayed in bed without being able to move for 3-4 months, so I am hopping for improvement in 2016, and in my vocabulary improvement means just to stay alive :))
