I do not support an option to write in your own. So many people are offended over every little thing, and I can just see it now. Someone writes their gender as 'Insert random object here' and someone is going to get offended. And then we would have to deal with all the bitching of people who want certain things to be banned from being a gender.
And then someone is going to suggest different set options for gender, but you can't please everyone. Some people are going to complain that they are 'Insert totally obscure "gender" here' and that will start a whole new battle.
So basically, no.
I vote for male, female, none, other.
I don't know why you felt it was necessary to ping me to a board I haven't posted on in like a week, but 1. nowhere in any of my posts have I said that ANYTHING isn't a valid gender, and 2. calling someone who doesn't believe a deer or a star is a valid gender transphobic is fucking insulting to trans people. If you want to get into this further, take it to my comments. thx.
lol are you serious, you are actually pinging me to a board I posted on ages ago? wow. Was that really necessary?
I agree with on this. Every word. It's not fucking transphobia oh my god
I'M. FUCKING. TRANS. OKAY. I know FULL WELL what transphobia is thank you very much. I came out and socially transitioned long before stuff like "deergender" was even a twinkle in someone's eye.
I didn't want to have to out myself in this way but oh my god you really irritated me. I'm NOT a transphobe. I can't believe that people like you cannot see how insulting shit like that is to trans people like myself. At least some people get it, like . Yes, I'm aware some trans people agree with your side as well, and you are allowed to believe that EVERY gender is valid or say anything you want, but don't step on us trans folk that see it as a mockery by calling us phobic against ourselves.
don't ping me again. if you want to talk, send me an smail or go through comments as cartel said. thanks.
(this goes for other people against my opinion as well. I'm too tired to argue with y'all on this board.)

I would to. People use "her/she" while refering to me, but I usually identify as agender most of the time. I'm not against any of this c:
Necroposting a bit, rather than making an entire new thread, since I was in the account section updating my e-mail, and this yet again bothered me.
"None" bothers me because it feels like I'm having to just ditch gender entirely since I don't identify as strictly male or strictly female. "Other" sort of doesn't feel good either, as it makes me feel like I'm not part of humanity either.
The RP Repository actually has a pretty progressive list for their Gender listing that wouldn't honestly take that much to code, and would cover pretty much everything without much of a problem. It's a generally inclusive list that basically comes out of the comminity itself, and the community support structure clinics. The list is: Male Female Agender Androdgyne Androgynous Bigender Demiboy Demienby Demigirl Gender Fluid Gender Nonconforming Gender Questioning Gender Variant Gender Queer Hermaphrodite Intersex Other Neither Neutrois Nonbinary Pangender Trans Trans Female Trans Male Trans Man Trans Person Trans Woman Transmasculine Two Spirit
This also basically covers what's been coming up on Facebook and Twitter's write in system from the actual people using it as something meaningful because again, this list is basically from the Community and our support structures, and it covers most of the major gender identities out there. Anything that's not listed can be sorted out under other, as they're generally from a smaller population. This isn't a pronoun list, this is more of a major gender list. Quite a bit more comfortable than "none" or "other" without the dangers and the moderation levels of a write in list.
