Aderyn stepped up to the line, preparing for the duel. She pulled out her wand and held it up, taking a deep, steadying breath as she watched for Lyn to get ready as well. With bated breath, she waited for the go ahead to start.
Noticing Lyn set herself in dueling position and bow at Aderyn, Beth began to count aloud.
"One........two...........three! Begin!" Beth shouted. She turned her hourglass upside down as the duel began. "I'll let you know when time is up," she told them.

Aderyn raised her wand as Beth () signaled the start to their duel. She quickly spoke the first words that came to mind.
""Petrificus totalus."
She cursed inwardly as her first spell missed, her mind reeling with what to try next.
"Likewise, thank you for a great duel and best of luck on your next," Lyn said as she followed suit and bowed at Magnus (). Walking over to the recreational table set up for the tournament, Lyn grabbed herself a towel and a cup of water before making her way back towards her seat by the dueling platform. She placed the towel on her head while sipping the water slowly, feeling herself relax as she leaned against the back of the chair as she got lost in her thoughts. "That was intense... this back-to-back dueling is more exhausting than I thought..." Lyn nearly spit her water out as Gaia () shouted out to her, opting to wave her acknowledgement of the latter's congratulatory words rather than risk continuing to choke on the water still in her mouth. Taking another moment to finish up, Lyn made her way back towards the platform, taking a deep breath as she walked up the steps for her second duel. Bowing at Aderyn (), she immediately got into her dueling stance.
Red energy burst from her wand towards Aderyn, shooting past the side of her head in similar fashion to the earlier attempt at the Full Body-Bind Curse.

Aderyn cursed inwardly as Lyn's spell zoomed towards her, missing her by a couple of inches. She was relieved for just long enough to raise her wand, firing another spell at Lyn. Her own disarming charm missed and she knew she would have to work on spell casting while moving. Regrouping, she shot off another spell.
"Protego!"
Not wanting to miss her chance at reclaiming the opposition, Lyn was quick to send another Stunning Spell Aderyn's way.
"Stupefy!"
"Protego!" The spell dispersed against the invisible shield Aderyn cast in defense. "Damn, that one was well aimed too..." Lyn was starting to feel her nerves intensify as the duel continued. Without another thought, she shouted the first spell that came to mind.
"Fumos!"

((ooc: okay, sounds good to me. Also sorry about the migraine... I can't remember where you said you had one but I know how they are -squishes-))
Aderyn was relieved as her spell managed to deflect Lyn's. As Lyn put up a smokescreen, Aderyn raised her wand once more and cast a final spell.
"Expelliarmus!"
Lyn's eyes couldn't quite make out her opponent through the self-cast smoke, but her ears definitely heard Aderyn declaring a spell. With the flick of the wrist she made what she knew would be her final move. "Finite!"

(OOC:
Did Lyn find a leprechaun before dueling? Google likes you, .)

(OOC: It's a struggle, but at least I didn't have a migraine today! I've had a migraine for the last five days.)
Aderyn breathed a sigh of relief as the duel drew to a close. She was a little disappointed at her own performance, but she smiled and crossed the floor, holding out a hand to shake Lyn's.
"Great job! A really good win, there!"
((ooc: that's awful, I know far too well how horrible -squishes- I'm so sorry.))
“Congratulations, Aderyn and Lyn (), that was an exciting duel to watch.”
"We'll take a small break before our last duel. Aderyn () and Magnus () will duel together next. Everyone, please feel free to grab some snacks and stretch."
(OOC: Yeah. I was diagnosed with chronic migraines earlier this school year. It could be worse.)
Aderyn bowed to Lyn out of respect and then stepped down from the front of the room. She took a moment to breathe before the next duel, crossing her fingers for it to go well. Stepping toward Magnus, she smiled.
"You ready to duel in a few minutes? I'm both nervous and excited!"
((OOC: Migraines are awful, I wouldn't wish them on anyone. The good news is that they often seem to get better with age. My own mom and aunt had awful chronic migraines in their 20s, and both have outgrown them over time, so hopefully that's the case for you, too!))
"I think so. You did brilliantly," he said and then added mischievously," and since you 'ave healer blood in ya, I know I'm in good 'ands when I loose." ((O0c: I've had cronic migraine diagnosis for 18 years so I totally sympathize. ))
"Thanks! You did really well in your last round, too. Go easy on me!"
She winked and laughed, bouncing eagerly on the balls of her feet.
(OOC: Maybe that'll happen to me too. It would be nice if I didn't suffer from them now. It's really affecting my studies and not all my professors are understanding.
That's terrible. I'm not sure how you do it. I've suffered from headaches since high school, but they've gotten worse throughout the years. I have to carry sunglasses around just in case my migraines become unbearable. I finally stopped caring, if people find it weird that I'm wearing sunglasses indoors.
BTW, Heads or Tails?)
