I don't really think this is necessary, personally. I've gotten items from Major Drills quests and things, I just toss it in my shop if it's just junk basically. I don't think I've ever gotten a gift that I wanted to just return to sender for any reason (not through the gift center anyway, random stickers on the other hand...). But anyway I feel like this is just a risk you take by allowing people to send you gifts.

I think your suggestion means well, and I get where you're coming from! It could use a little more refinement in explanation, so that it could be less complicated if it were to be taken into consideration and coded in.

I can speak from experience about returning a gift given to me though. I gave back a birthday gift to my friend because it smelled of cigarette smoke (her mom was a smoker, and I was becoming highly allergic to the secondhand-exposure). Even though I explained it as such and was nice in my approach about it, I ended up hurting my friend's feelings and we hadn't spoken for years until recently (thanks facebook).

Though we're friends again now, I still can't forget how bad I made her feel so many years ago. I wouldn't want to see that happen on here between users, cause it really isn't a fun experience to live through. x.x

I'm not really sure I feel the reasons given are good enough for this to become a feature. There are reasons why there are whole chapters dedicated to the etiquette of gifting. The general consensus is to just be gracious about it. This kind of defeats that basic idea.
