The vitriol in the forums/comments directed at CW releasers has been... disconcerting to say the least. I've seen complaints with just about everything to do with releasing CWs... from elitist attitudes to... having too many spoilers in the first post makes it look unwelcoming, okay...
I don't know why I feel the need to explain myself but here I am anyway, almost everything I release or commission has been related to an OC of mine, and was something I personally wanted on site so I could dress like how I pictured them. My batch numbers are so small before I released the milkshakes, my ping group: tiny and my batch filling: slow. Even today I see a bunch of my stuff in pawn or up in trades with nobody buying- it just makes me think YIKES glad I only released one batch back then. Don't get me wrong, I have ZERO problems with people trying to sell my stuff, as a seller I want my customers to be satisfied and that means being able to sell the item you bought for slot price so you don't feel regretful to buy from me.
It's a fine line to thread between releasing enough batches to keep people happy and trying to release just enough that demand remains high so that people with copies can sell theirs easy. I cannot tell you how much time I spend pondering whether an item should be 1 batch or 2 batch or more. In the end I decided to make a call and make everything one batch, being unsure how popular they would end up being. Was that the right call? I don't know...
I've always tried to put effort to make my items more accessible, have a few colours that are unlimited, do little competitions so that anyone who wants to can claim a slot etc. Basically try to make it possible for anyone in my ping group to have at least a copy of a milkshake (Why just my ping group? Haha just a way to thank people who've supported my on my CW journey I guess...) to do all this and still be referred to as one of those 'elitist' idk it just gets me down. My ping group is public anyone is welcomed to join I am not being exclusive here... if people don't want to get my pings or don't want to post 'slot pls' then you know... why should I make my CWs less rare just cause of that (If that makes me an elitist then goddamn it call me an elitist then)
Anyway this is my CW releasing thread not my soapbox. I've been contemplating on ways to make my stuff more accesible I guess (Though sometimes I think to myself why bother trying to please everyone lol) From now on my releases will be two batches, including any remaining recolours of the milkshake. Ping group will still get first dibs, and I will gauge number of batches based on item popularity, hopefully this will be better for all.
