To be honest I probably get more frustrated due to getting things wrong than having to redo them, so it's better for us both this way. Sorry for the general mess though. (I hope I didn't come across as aggressive or anything last night - I was a bit too tired, so I might have been a bit blunt in my wording. If that was the case however, I apologise.)

I usually don't do WIPs because things tend to change -drastically- from flats to finished piece, but I think it's probably best to get the colours & markings here right from the get-go. I'll have to alter my shading-method quite a bit to keep them close to the flats, but it should be fine - just different.

Please let me know what might need altering. ( I've stared myself blind on your refs, so I might very well have missed something;; )

Also, sorry for the late reply, I have been very sick (everyone is throwing up in my house this week, yay!). XD ;)

For Penni (the red panda) - She is perfect, I want her paws/legs to be the darker color that her brown tail portion is and fade into the color of her dark stripe on her face by the time it reaches the upper arm and leg muscles. :) Outside of that she is perfectly colored! Also I am scared that the patterning on her cape is lost because it's very very dark now, so perhaps a bit lighter on the details? I really need that patterning on there to show(it's part of her character story).

For Sentine(the pherret) - Her eyes are perfect that color, love it!! I also love (cannot say it enough) the cape colors with that magenta and purple/blue patterning, it's perfect. The fade in center of the cape kind of bothers me a bit, like over her shoulder area. Can it be made a bit more obvious please? Right now it looks like an abrupt fade and should be gradual but still bright. Her pinks look great. On her lower back/rump/spreading down to the upper tail There should be a darkening-deeper magenta area that has more small dots (like freckles) that fade into the softer magenta coloring. The ref img shows this pretty well on the lower back area (only in white). Also the coloring for the magic is perfect, and I like it not super bright (for when you add in the brightness/magical effect). Her locket looks different now than it did before, it shouldn't have the darker blue, but the more turquoise blue.
The swirly detailing will come back to the belts and shoes, right?

It's good to hear that the colours & everything is more right as it is now. Let's see...

First, the cape patterns in the first WIPs had a layer style & were lit according to the shading last go around, which I just hadn't turned off/reset. This is how they look completely flat, with no styles or anything.

Let me know if you want the facial gold on Penni's legs to stretch down any further, or if you want the Princess' deeper magenta stretched in any direction or faded (either with the darker, but not full-on dark shade going further up/down her body, or reducing the current area with her main pink back colour). The darker blue is gone from the pendant, and Ive added back some swirly detailing on the shoes/belts (the reason they disappeared was that they existed on one of the painting layers, so when I deleted those a lot of the detailing went as well. I re-did the bag, but thought the rest could wait until the colours were sorted, at least.)

Thanks for guiding me through all of it! You know your characters so much better than I do, so it's easier for you to see the changes that are needed. I really do appreciate the patience. Sometimes the most successful projects are a collaborate effort!

Thank you for working with me on this so much, I am in love with this so much now! And thank you for the well wishes. I just got back from the doctors with my youngest sister and everyone is getting better now, she's the last one to heal up.

Penni is perfect now!
Two small fixes: 1. the inside of her ears is dark, so a white rim around the ears stays (like a regular red panda ear). The white outline/tips/and behind the ears are perfect! The dark color for the inside of the ears should be the same as the darker parts of the tail. 2. The lower leg coloring should not extend quite that high, it's almost perfect. You can see the line of the leg, right at the tip of that should be the stomach coloring fading in, because right now the belt cuts the colors in half, making her look truncated. Along that same line of thought, the color on the backside of the neck (and by the belts where the body color comes out) looks a bit light and you can't see the difference between the stomach and the back/body coloring (which should be darker, closer to the shade of gold on the face actually).

I think that will make it perfect. :D

For Sentine on her cape, the magenta swirl patterning on the cape will be multiple colors like it was before, when it's done, right? Because I really really loved that effect a lot.

The dark dots on her back are great but can they go up a little higher on her lower back portion (between the belts and fading out a little bit higher than the belts, but not much), with more fading dots/marks. I really like the marks you have there so far. :) The shape on her back from where you have it now, to the fading behind the belts, is more like an arrowhead/triangle, so it gets smaller and tapers as it goes up her spine.

The amulet should be a little bit less green, so maybe a tiny tiny tiny bit more of the turquoise on the far left side of the amulet, where there is green now would fix that.

Yes, the cape embroideries will be visible/shiny/coloured like they were/generally like they're supposed to when they're done. As I said, it's just a layer style on/off, plus adding some extra colours into the mix!

Beyond that, I hope the basics look okay now! ^^

I think they both look fantastic, I really love them! Sentine is perfect, I love all the details and shading a lot.

The only thing that might need some tweaking is Penni. Right under her chin/neck area, I am not sure, but I kind of think there could be more shadowing there. What do you think? I do not think it needs a ton just a teeny bit. Outside of that shading question, I really do think these are fantastic!!
