Are all of the recent pieces painted quads aside from the colored sketch and Lei's doggo? I know I want one quad (potentially to be used as an overlay) and one human floof, I'm just unsure of what style of shading I'm looking for.

I'll fill out the form in a minute, but both pieces will be for the same character--my magical shapeshifting dog boy, Seongwon, in his human/humanoid form and then in his dog form.

Apart from the wild dog & the sketch all of the latest examples are painted, though only the grey horse, wild dog, and handsome specimen at the end are quads. Simple pieces have only one layer of shading + minimal lighting, which makes them cleaner but flatter. Most of my work tends to be painted, which gives more depth & detail, though it often disagrees with being shrunk -- at least in quad format ( this guy was a recent exception who took well to his overlay-size). I can also offer multi-cell shaded as a mix of the two for the same price as a painted piece (the only example I have of that would be this one from a couple of years back (though they were specifically designed to work as an overlay at the time)).

Oh wow. I mean, yeah, sure, I can, but it's very important that you're happy with the result. In general, do you tend to prefer sharper / cell-shaded pieces or more fully rendered / painted stuff?

I guess I usually tend to prefer cell-shaded, sharper styles of colouring but if you think painting suits the vibes of the pieces, by all means go for it!

he always wears black winged liner has both human and dog ears in his humanoid form has two small black hoop piercings in both ears as well as his dog ears his hair is black hair style seems to vary a bit from artist to artist but I can provide refs too i also have an HA that is loosely based on him and i can add that too Style: artist's choice Personality/Pose Suggestion/Other Info: Seongwon is a Korean Jindo dog who was blessed by the magical entities of his universe to become human and now can shift between being a dog, a human, and an intermediate form (human but with dog ears, tail, and legs of a dog). He may also take a human form with just dog ears or dog ears + tail.

He's a dancer who practices both traditional Korean dance (fan dancing, mask dancing, and Cheoyongmu are his specialties) and modern dance (modern + hip hop). I'm really not too particular with the pose, I truly adore your art and trust your vision, so I'll be happy with anything! What's most important to me, is the vibe of the piece. His character is based on blending grace with strength. He has been through a lot and his story is about facing pain and past trauma and learning to accept/love/be at peace with one's self. So anything that can capture a person who is strong yet soft, would be great! If you need more details about his personality or story, I'd be happy to provide them if you thought that it would be helpful.

You're welcome to draw him in his hanbok or his casual outfit: causual outfit here. I'll leave that up to you.

You're welcome to draw him with his dog legs or with just ears or just ears + tail.

For his dog form, I was wondering if maybe you could draw him in his hanbok, but doggie sized? If not, I would love him in some sort of jumping/dancing pose. It'd be awesome to include his fan somehow but I know it's hard to draw a dog holding a fan naturally (that's why his current overlay is holding a paintbrush/calligraphy brush). His dog form also has a bit of eyeliner. Its a bit hard to see in the overlay but it can be seen better in the full size below which I have linked below. My only request is that he is shaded with cool colors, so blue, grey, etc.

You're very thorough - it's nice to read a form where you can really feel that the writer cares about the character.

I can totally dress up the the dog-form a hanbok his size, no problem! Clothes on quads raise the price a bit though, likely $3-$4 (I'll know for sure once I start sketching). I can also play around with making the fan work somehow; it should be especially possible with an energetic pose I think (one or two ideas already in mind). (:
