"Remember how I said not to jump into something without knowing what you're dealing with? That goes for friends as well as enemies, and I speak from experience," Amuné told the strange soldier wryly, her voice tight with pain as he treated the injury. She turned her head to look at Tsitua when he spoke, grateful for the distraction. "Yes." Amuné could recall the vision clearly. It was the same ruins as before, the clouds overhead pouring rain upon Tsitua, the stranger attacker, and the girl with the blue hair. Except her perspective had been through Tsitua's eyes as he caught the girl, holding her as he tried to stop the bleeding. The girl whispered that she loved him with her final breath. Amuné had felt his desperation, his love -- and the hopelessness and rage that followed as she breathed her last. His feelings had been intense, painfully so to the Seer.
And then the image and the accompanying emotions were gone, leaving only echoes behind, but the vision had not ended there. In darkness she had seen a figure composed of fire, the same one whose form she'd seen overlayed on Tsitua, watching her. The creature had been far clearer, with strange eyes and fangs, flames licking at the nothingness around the pair. It had spoke to her, saying something in a tongue she did not understand, its voice a harsh rasp with the crackle of sparks.
"And also the fire," Amuné added, watching his face carefully. "As you wish -- let me know when is convenient." She returned to the main cabin, making her way to her seat next to Jareth and strapping herself in. Her friend was conversing with the others. Despite his apparent cheer, the woman could tell he was still feeling stressed. She'd learned to read him well over the years.
Fortunately they soon arrived. Shiva stormed off, her expression clouded, and a woman came aboard. Jareth's jaw dropped until his friend gave him a nudge and he shut it. She was gorgeous! Definitely a 10. Next to him, Amuné tensed slightly, but she didn't need Tsitua to tell her not to freak out, for she was already taking cues by the fact that he didn't seem to think the presence of someone who'd died noteworthy. Amuné was stumped as to how that was possible, but she'd ask later. She'd seen many strange things, both in person and in visions. This was unusual, but not frightening.

Kreos tapped Shiva on the shoulder, as she seemed to be brooding in her seat, thinking intensely about something while she looked through the cockpit door. She did not respond, however, so Kreos simply shrugged and dismissed the thought. He turned to look at the small window in the drop ship to see the even larger ship come in to view from the port side of the shuttle. He was slightly amazed by the ship, but he's seen greater things. As they docked, Kreos' face was plastered to the window, trying to take in how many places he could go. Once the drop ship stopped moving, he returned to his seat, where both Ruarc and Amuné had also recently sat down.
Kreos watched as Shiva left, but his eyes caught on another girl. He thought her to be a naiad, with her fair skin and wavy blue hair, until he noticed her apparel as well as her scarred cheek. Naiads usually had nothing wrong with their skin, as well as they usually wore long, flowing dresses, however these things didn't make the girl any less beautiful. He chuckled as Amuné closed Jareth's mouth for him, but made nothing much of it. The Demigod gave a two-fingered salute to the girl and simply said "Hey" with a smile, as no one else seemed to really greet her yet.

“Thank you†Jack smiled softly as they sat there. “Yes, this is Bruce†She nodded letting her grip go a bit on the pup so he could move over.
Her attention was pulled to a close by window as they grew closer, not to mention it was drawn with everyone else’s movements to the windows. It was a really amazing and oddly beautiful sight to see, a once in a life time thing. Or something she’d see in her dreams, which were starting to come true any way, so anything was still possible.
Bruce’s paws hit the floor of the ship for the first time while Jack got up as Shiva exited. He scooted out of the way so not to be stepped on. She looked curiously after the other girl, the air kinda thick with a weird emotion. But that soon dispersed seeing the other woman. Her hair was eye catching and gave her an oddly comfortable feeling again hearing her speak.
The blue haired woman pulled out an injection device and injected what he guessed to be an antibiotic into his arm that was now becoming more and more inflamed. She capped he needle and looked at him, frustration all over her face. "Go to the med bay," she said, her smooth alto voice was both soft and strong at the same time, "I can take care of them." He nodded and exited the dropship, briskly walking a different way than Shiva had gone.
He trusted Lya more than anyone, even though she didn't remember anything about their past.
As furious as she was with Tsitua, Lya couldn't bring herself to smack him across the face in front of a bunch of new recruits. That would send the wrong message. She decided she would smack him extra hard later on.
"Alright, my name is Princess Lyaana Valentine. You all can call me Lya. If Tsitua is the captain, I guess that makes me his first mate. Just to put things in perspective for you. Make no mistake, we are essentially a private military force tasked to police the heavens, and you are essentially one big hunk of raw, unrefined material. As of this moment, you are part of a family. Everyone aboard this ship has a job, and every job is vital to our operation. Think of the people next to you as brothers and sisters. They might save your life one day." Is was an on-the-spot speech, but she felt like she covered everything. She gestured for them to follow her as she lead them out onto the catwalk and through the same door shiva had used. The group passed by Eric, the blind, muscular fellow that Shiva had dodged; and Mouse, the attractive angel that lived on the ship. He wasn't showing his wings at the time, but his golden eyes shimmered like gems as he said, "Ah, the new batch!" He held up a high five for whoever decided to take it. "And The grandson of Vatchious too?! Oh man! We gotta fight!" He lit a new cigarette and followed the group.
"As you can see, your names have been written on some of these doors." Lya said as she lead the group down the long corridor where the quarters were. The path split off in two directions, one went to the rec room, and the other went to the prep area. They too the one leading to prep, going through a door that opened up to a large room with a huge holo table and a tall, heavily muscled man with blonde, spikey hair all pushed over on one side, partially covering his right eye socket. "Victor, meet Jareth." Lya said, touching he young boy's shoulder. Victor stood, flicking a half-smoked cigarette on the ground and scratching at his scruffy, tired face. His left eye was natural, with a dark red iris and evidence of severe lack of sleep. His right eye and eye socket was a metal prosthetic that visibly focused on Jareth as his other eye did. The six foot, three inch engineer waved the young man over to join him in an empty computer chair.
As he did, others entered the room. Mouse was already with them, but Eric entered from another door along with two others. One looked identical to Lya, except for having bright red hair, and a nasty scar across the bridge of her nose and part of her left cheekbone. The second was Marcus. Marcus was a twelve foot tall devil with a mask that had breathing tubes pumping methane out of the air and into its lungs. The being's physique put angry green superheroes to shame. His muscular structure was so big and so dense that every movement created a faint 'thud' sound. It's eyes were glowing red just like Kabuto's eyes from behind long, pale hair that reached its massive shoulders. "Eric will be training Amuné, Jack, Orion, and Raurc in hand to hand, Mae will be training the same three in chakras, and Marcus is your fitness trainer." Lya announced. "Kreos, you're a level above the rest, so you'll be trained directly by our leader. Any questions?"
((haha, I like Lya already <3 But you said four names for hand-to-hand, and then "the same three" for chakra. I'm confused. I guess Ruarc doesn't have chakra or something?))
Amuné flinched a moment before Mouse came into view. His aura was bright, and it hurt her inner eye for a moment before she adjusted. Jareth was quietly crushing on Lya, though he kept it hidden, and his heart sank when she gave her title. A princess? No way she'd even give him the time of day, then. He tried instead to focus on the others they passed in the hallway, the man with the white dreads and facial tatts, and the guy with the scene hair and strange eyes, and the area of the ship that he could see. A holographic table? Wow. The young man jumped as Lya touched his shoulder, and couldn't keep a faint blush from coloring his cheeks, but his attention was taken by Victor. So this was the guy at the other end of Shiva's radio, huh?
"Nice to meet you in person, Victor," Jareth said, trying not to stare openly at his artificial eye. He glanced at Amuné, but she nodded for him to go ahead, and he made his way over to the chair with restrained excitement. The other engineer looked just as tired as he. As he slid into the seat, the name Lya clicked in his mind. "Hey, wasn't she the lady Shiva mentioned in connection to biomechanics?" He asked softly. "Why the heck is a princess an engineer?"
Amuné meanwhile was looking at the people she didn't yet know. Lya gave names to all of them save the person she suspected was a higher-level being, the one with the strange eyes. The ripped man, too, was powerful, but not on the same level. She nodded to each of the three that would train her as they were introduced. She never turned down this sort of training. "When do we start," she asked when prompted, at the same time as Jareth asked, "When's lunch? I'm starved!" She resisted the urge to facepalm, but privately agreed. It had been several hours since breakfast, and she ate early so as to have time for her morning routine before classes.

Kreos cringed a bit at how quickly and seemingly carelessly the woman stabbed a syringe into Tsitua's arm. He himself being of immortal blood never needed to take any shots, so he was always slightly uncomfortable around syringes. He raised an eyebrow at the woman's title. Princess, huh? Pretty glamorous rank to be in a place like this. Nevertheless, apparently no one except him said hello anymore, but Kreos decided this was off topic. He stood up as soon as soon as the woman gestured for them to follow, eager to get out of the relatively small ship. He payed no real mind to Eric, passing by without a thought. When they happened upon Mouse, Kreos happily took the high-five with a slight grin, but said nothing, making sure to keep up with the group as to not get left behind.
Kreos tried to peek into his room when they were mentioned, but he noticed the group continuing to move, so he jogged a bit to catch up and returned to his previous spot in the jumbled line. The demigod let his eyes wander around the room, looking at the decor of the prep area as the 'princess' spoke. His attention was only caught when three other people entered the room, people being a loose term.
Kreos didn't really pay any more mind to Eric for now, but his attention was caught by the other two. "So, wait... Is that girl a princess too, or...?" Kreos thought to himself, looking at the red-headed girl entering the room. Surprisingly, the demon was the last thing Kreos payed and attention to. He admitted that it was pretty big, however he didn't question why they had a 12-foot tall demon on the ship, as at this point in his life he wasn't really surprised by much anymore. His attention was brought back to Lya when she spoke again after the others entered the room. "That's alrighty with me." Kreos said when he heard he would be privately trained. There was a slight pause with Kreos after Jareth mentioned lunch, but after about two seconds the Demigod suddenly started laughing, before getting himself together and saying, "Yeah, I could go for some lunch too." With a smile.

It was a continued shock to the system listening to Lya speak. At this point it was way beyond six impossible things way after breakfast. Though the sound of being part of a bigger family again sounded nice. Not that she’d ever replace Jason that is. Following closely though the ship having picked up Bruce again, Jack was amazed at the inside of the structure. Then the people, she blushed a bit seeing the angels shimmering eyes. To distracted to give him a high five.
Jack’s eyes grew a little wider looking at the others that joined them. So different, so cool, so…. well huge. She had to pull Bruce’s attention away from jumping out of her arms and barking. The small dog had the Napoleon complex sometimes, he thought he was huge and invincible. “Would the chakras help with elements?†Jack asked, it sounded weird to her, but she also didn’t want to seem like a weakling. Though they all probably knew this was new to her, just seems like that kinda thing would happen.
(((my apologies, I don't know where my head was at this weekend. I did also poke a Rous to warn him... )))
Ruarc followed the group off the ship, eyeballing his surroundings. It wasn't too bad here, everything her could want. He oggled the blue haired chick for a split second, before regaining his composure, then the giant walked by. He cast a sideays glance at the thing, noting the breathing tubes, storing that info in his brain for later.
He looked around, everyone had rooms already assigned to them. We're they a part of the team already? Or were they just picked so far in advance? So no shock to him when he didn't have a room.
He chuckled, shaking his head "I'm beyond proficient in multiple styles of Martial arts. This 'chakras' stuff, though, I have no idea about. Also, any spare rooms still? If need be, I'll sleep in the gym, or whatever..."
He'd look around for a way to get the info he gathered back to Earth, although they were way out in the asteroid belt...
We'll look any man straight in his eyes and say
"Kiss my Irish ass! ya better kiss my Irish ASS!"
Victor leaned in close to Jareth's ear, whispering "Lya and Mae are all that's left of their entire planet."
Mae stepped forward after Raurc's comment. She wore basically the same outfit as her twin sister, only with a darker color scheme. "You haven't even received your augmentation yet, so be careful with your bragging, spook." Where Lya was elegant and authoritative, Mae was firey and quick to bite back. "I don't give a d*** how many martial arts you know, I guarantee my boyfriend can take you without even using his sight!" She barked, pointing at the blind man who raised an eyebrow.
"I look forward to sparring, kung fu master." He added, chuckling at his own ironic joke as he gazed blankly at nothing. He then tilted his head so that one ear was directly aimed at Jack. "Chakras are the energies within you. Some call it chii, some call it adrenaline. Most are ill informed. Chakra is your life force, and it is much more powerful than your body." With that, he snapped his hand forward, releasing a small throwing blade which Mae caught with one bare hand.. Without looking.
"Furthermore," Lya interjected, "everyone is assigned a mentor. Some of you have been roomed with your mentor. Others will meet them later on. Go find your rooms, and your mentor will collect you and bring you to the chow hall. Dismissed." She walked over to were Jareth was sitting, kneeling down and giving a warm smile. Her smile was so soft and so pure. She smiled even with her eyes, "You can stay here if you like. Victor eats on his own time." She kissed him softly on his cheek then rose and continued to the infirmary so she could install her leader's new bioflex. She had intense respect for the engineers. In her mind, they made it all possible. The kiss was just her way of showing respect, that she acknowledged she was beneath him. It was her culture.
Victor already had a sandwich halfway in his mouth as his hands tapped away at the holopanels. He brought up a bioflex arm schematic, then bit off half of the sandwich. After chewing slightly and swallowing it almost whole, he explained, " okay, so, yes, she designs these things, but we make it happen." He converted all the specs to English, "her status is just that, it means nothing. She earned her position, and everyone has a job based specifically on thier talents. Anyway, this is (loosely translated) a kind of mix of plastic rubber and carbon fiber." He explained, pointing out the artificial muscles of the prosthetic arm. "They're spiderwebbed with pure rolandium nanofiliments to carry the electrical signals from your brain to the fibers which behave just like muscles, except for the untapped potential part. These have to be maintained and taken care of like normal body parts." He enlarged the image showing the palm of the hand, there were millions of hexagon-shaped sensor panels all over the hand, "those are nanoscopic sensory panels very similar to a touch screen on a cellular phone. They recognize sensations like hot, cold, wet, dry, and some of us can channel our chakras through them." He zoomed back out and sent the schematic to his 3D printer. "My printer is capable of printing over a billion different materials, as long as we have the material on hand, and a schematic to back it up." He got out of his chair and went to the printer, which had nearly finished the arm by then. "Understand? We get or create a design, we fabricate it, perfect it, and produce it. Also I can remotely print things as long as the appropriate materials are nearby the location. That's the hard stuff."
[ I'm not at my best right now .-. ]
His grin only widened when she leaned in close, snapping at him. "Augmentations, eh? Like Spartans in 'Halo?' Neat!" He replied, looking to the blind man, tsk-tsking playfully. "Now now, Kung fu doesn't just pertain to Martial arts training, you know. But I appreciate the term, disparaging or not. I'd like to go a couple rounds, sounds like it would be fun. But after lunch, and a nap. Where's the bathroom?"
The last part of the sentence came from around the corner of the hallway as he parted to look for his room. If he even had one. Hell, he'd settle for a broom closet, as long as he had some dark place to sleep.
((something wrong?))
We'll look any man straight in his eyes and say
"Kiss my Irish ass! ya better kiss my Irish ASS!"
(( Hey, I hope things get better. I'm having another rough week as well, and I'm at a low point because someone I know passed away. huggles Let me know if I can do anything for you, though.))
Jareth failed utterly at any sort of composure at Lya's kiss. He turned scarlet, and was left staring after her with his mouth partly open as she walked off. It took Victor speaking to him to bring him back to reality. Privately he doubted being a princess meant nothing, but he felt bad for her and her sister. To be the last of their kind, that must be awful. She'd probably seen terrible things.
He scratched his head at the schematic, but took it in as the other engineer explained. "Is this the printer?" the young man asked, getting up to take a look at it. "Wow, that's sweet. The one on campus isn't very good, and it can't do high level stuff. This...this is going to be awesome. Yeah, I get you. But design and implementation are where all the fun puzzles are. I mean, taking an idea and making it reality...that's one of the best things there is." His stomach growled, reminding him that he was hungry. He had a tendency to get lost in his work if sufficiently excited. "I take it you're my mentor? Is it okay if I grab something to eat before trying to digest all this new information?"
Amuné already disliked the soldier. He rubbed her the wrong way, and had an attitude to boot. Victor was almost certainly Jareth's mentor, and she knew if he had new toys her friend wouldn't be interested in talking to her. Besides, she wanted to get rid of the beginnings of the headache pushing at her temples, tend to her injury, and change out of her bloody shirt. But first things first. She approached Eric, Marcus, and Mae, as well as the man with the golden eyes. Waiting for a pause in their talk, she introduced herself. "My name is Amuné, she said, bowing her head slightly out of respect. "I look forward to training under you. I have some experience, but I think not the same type nor as much as those here. I hope to learn as much from you as I can."

The talk about augmentations went way over Kreos' head, but once they started talking about martial arts, that caught his attention. Awhile back Kreos and a son of Freya sparred, Jarad, the Norse demigod, used glima, while Kreos used a combination of pankration and aikido, a martial art he learned from mother at a young age, one of the few memories he had of his child life. Even though Kreos was more experienced in battle, Jarad was still a pretty tough guy to beat in their sparring match, but Kreos eventually won. The two demigods traveled a bit together before parting ways, their immortal blood calling them elsewhere. After that Kreos met Sarah, the daughter of Hathor he had dated for a bit. He spent more time with her than he did anyone else in his teen years. Her beautiful Amber eyes, slightly tanned skin, slim build, and straight brown hair. Aphrodite children paled in comparison to her beauty, and she possessed a personality that matched Kreos' own. They eventually parted after a tearful goodbye, seeming as if the gods themselves forbid their union. But that kinda stuff was off-topic for now, so he mentally pushed aside those memories.
Kreos couldn't help but snicker a little bit and pat Jareth on the shoulder a bit as he turned as red as a tomato after Lya gave the engineer a peck on the cheek. "Good luck, man." He told Jareth in a low tone, as to not draw attention. "So I assume we're excused, then." Kreos half-asked, half-stated after turning to the rest of the group. At this point he turned to return to his previously found room, walking past Ruarc as he headed there.
A Horns & Roses fan!
"Bragging is a look good on no Jack couldn't help but respond to the solders comment, though she felt bragging was a well suited match for him. "Oh?" She said lookin to the blind man. "Still sounds cool, and probably very useful in helping me" she nodded with a smile. She knew he wouldn't be able to see it but sometimes it could be heard in voice inflection. "I guess we'll work on that later" she said seeing everyone venture off. nnLightly following the strays she eventually found her room, noticing Shiva's name on it as well. Which did bring back the memory of Tistua telling her of sharing a room. But also remembering how she had, for lack of a better word, stormed off the ship. She wondered if she should knock. Just for the fact she hadn't seen the other girl since then. Her hand hovered over the door deciding wether to knock or not. The hesitation caught Bruce's attention making her presence known by barking softly.
