I was hoping that the last episode will come out next week, but I doubt it. There are some people who think it will come out on the 11th of October, to coincide with the game, you know? It'll be 9 or 10 weeks next Tuesday, so... yeah.

Ahhhh I'm glad there are a bunch of Life is Strange fans!!
I'm going to throw my theories out here and also try to answer a few of yours.
Answering Your Questions
[qoute]Nathan needs to feel in control, right? Then why was that picture of him and Rachel the opposite?[/quote] Nathan wants control desperately but in all honesty, Nathan is his father's pawn. I believe that he was also drugged in that sequence.
And now for mine! (sorry for the long post haha)
My Blabble and Theories
The major question for me is what in the world is Jefferson even doing in Arcadia Bay in the first place and what kind of agreement does Nathan's dad have with Jefferson. They're obviously in cahoots so the only question is why? For Jefferson to leave the prestigious art galleries of the city to come to a small dying town? Must have been some deal.
The other major question is where Max got her powers from and if other people also have them. I personally believe that this is a war of fate/timelines. Max developed her power because of Chloe almost dying. Which hints to me that fate or some other power needs her alive. My main guess is that it's actually Arcadia Bay (I like to believe that Samuel is awesome and knows what he's talking about). The Prescott's are killing the town. It makes sense that Max gets the timewarp to protect Chloe who is the main instigator and trying to get to the bottom of it and get rid of them.
If you've read the answers above, you'd know that what I think will happen in Ep. 5 is the following: Jefferson kidnaps both Max and Victoria (the fate line about not being friends seems telling to me). Nathan is one of the only people who know where they are and also cares deeply (whether romantic or platonic) for Victoria. So he busts in and gets them out. Max and Warren meet up. Warren shares all the information he could find on Nathan's dad and then investigate a little bit. Max then uses this information and his photo to return before the party--saving Victoria and Chloe. Max then has to fight off a tornado lololol. Not quite. To be honest it's kind of a cop out but I think Chloe is going to have to die for the crazy natural disasters to stop. It is only after Max and her powers + Chloe surviving that these things begin to happen and start messing with the world. So either Max or Chloe or both will have to do some sort of ultimate sacrifice to finish this whole thing off (with an official appearance of Nathan's dad of course).
If you're looking for more theories, geekremix on YouTube has some of the best theories I've seen yet (plus she totally called Jefferson being the bad guy).
Oh yes I've seen all their theories; in fact, I made a playlist of their (and others') theories on the game.
At first I thought Mr. Jefferson was retired, or semi-retired, and that's why he's teaching at the school. He's not that old, though... but I totally called it ;P
I don't know how the storm is going to stop--I don't even know if it can be stopped. Maybe it needs to happen.
No spoilers in this post.
Also, I think you're right about Nathan; I think that's going to happen, too.

I actually thought Jefferson was super young but I'm pretty sure the wiki said he was in his 40s?
The storm is a cleansing of Arcadia Bay? I'm curious as to how they'll explain it and tie it all together! It's quite a jump from missing girls to tornadoes huh?
(It's super hard to keep things spoiler free haha I think this post is safe too).
Oh totally. I'm looking forward to Nathan's role. I'd like to see Samuel and Victoria play bigger roles too. The cast they have is pretty great, and the creators have done a great job at making characters multifaceted :D Who is your favorite character?
Also, I'm looking forward to how Alyssa will dodge that tornado lol.
I'm pretty sure Episode 5 will come out after Halloween which is probably good. I'm going to need to give my heart rest time to heal before digging back into it.
The storm seems more like an allegory, like how Alice in Wonderland is to hallucinogens. But the storm is real.

I just think it's way to coincidental that they have that bunker, literally called the Storm Breaker or something. I could be wrong, it could be just a coincidence. It's funny, that it's a shelter from harm, though...
Awww I hope it comes out sooner than that! I'm doing NaNoWriMo so around that time and November will be busy for me.
My favorite character? Hmmm....I like Max's growth as a character, but her voice acting seems a bit forced sometimes, so it sort of breaks the fourth wall. Chloe is cool but someone I would not want to hang around IRL because of the drugs and guns. I'm not into that. I identify with Kate and Nathan as far as emotions go (depression, fear of not having control, etc.)
Gosh, I don't know if I can pick one. I guess maybe Kate. She reminds me a lot of myself, and if

she doesn't kill herself, she is determined to get stronger and better herself. I have dysthymia and panic disorder with agoraphobia, and I'm feeling a bit down about everything and seeing her recover gives me hope.

Did you see the youtube video where a guy made a map of Arcadia Bay based on the information we gather? It's super great!
Oooh I really like the idea of a reference to Alice in Wonderland. I guess I've only related it to Catcher in the Rye because of the ridiculous amount of linkage.
SPOILER (click to toggle)
You're right! I totally didn't think about that part! Hmm. I definitely don't like the idea of Nathan's dad having the ability to see the tornado coming though. Or any sort of mystical power haha. If that is the case though I wonder what his side represents?
As for character analysis...

Max honestly is kinda awful in the abuse of her power dealio. She's very focused on everyone liking her which is totally normal but by abusing her power and making everyone like her it's such an abuse of trust that I find it hard to handle. Though to be fair I totally play her as a rewind junkie so that may be my fault lol.
Chloe is so incredibly dangerous and single minded. Tbh, I kind of hated her a little in Ep 1-3 because her jabs at Max and everyone were just so mean :( she's just so angry all the time that her lash outs are awful and incredibly damaging to anyone in the general vicinity. (Along with the guns and drugs of course). They really did make her nicer in Ep 4 though so I'm glad. The foreshadowing with the handicap parking and stealing money were amaZING! I didn't realize what it was hinting at until after it happened!
Kate is so great. I really would love to see more of her outside of this whole ordeal. We've really only gotten a chance to know Kate mainly as a victim and I'd love to see her when she's feeling a little better :) I actually came out of a 2 year long major depressive episode about 7 months ago (and counting!) so I totally get Kate too. And while I would love to see more of her in Ep 5 I really just want her safe and far far away from all of this awful business lol.
Nathan is an incredibly troubled character and I'm very curious to see how it all plays out. I think it's really interesting for them to show the effects of an awful and toxic father/family and how that can really make getting help/healing basically impossible.
In all honesty, I really like Victoria's character haha. She's literally awful and in a lot of ways unforgivable but the character that she is, is actually very deep and I want to know more about her home life. Her parents own a gallery and are incredibly wealthy so the amount of pressure from that and repeated failures/rejections is something I can only imagine (but I can definitely relate on a certain level). Plus her understanding of Nathan shows a much more empathetic character than what we originally get to see. She's the classic story of bullying due to her own insecurities and to get attention off herself and I'm looking forward to see her in Ep 5. She better play a bigger role or I will be very sad :P
Ugh I just love Life is Strange!
No, I haven't seen that actually. I'll have to check it out. And yeah, I like Victoria, too; she's a redeemable character in my eyes. People should always better themselves, and I think she's starting to understand that. I don't know if she'll practice it, but who knows?

This game destroys my feels more with every episode.
I REALLY hope that episode 5 is at least as long as 4 was, hopefully longer. If it really does end up being the last installment as planned, there are SO many questions left to answer. Every episode introduced a new concept, new characters, and new problems that STILL aren't resolved!
Also, yesterday it was posted to their twitter that the release date for episode 5 is aiming to release on October 20th!

Why kill Chloe and not Max, or kill them both, or abduct them both?
Jefferson has always had a creepy pedophile boner for Max. So the reason why Max isn't dead is because he wants pictures. And Chloe is the one who is leading this whole crusade so it makes sense that she dies (plus she has a gun). This is the biggest thing that I wondered. Why would he kill Chloe? Because also, in my game, she never got the gun back (it was taken by Frank because I chose not to make Max take a shot at him - also whilst in his trailer Max and Chloe didn't steal it back either). I figured that he probably drugged Max because he knows she has some sort of ability, although he might not know the details. I strongly suspect that Jefferson has interest in Max's abilities though. So he drugged her in case she tried to use them. I figured that he just had no use for Chloe.
My theory generally revolves around the fact that Max is controlling the storm and Jefferson knows this/wants to use her abilities somehow.
I love the game to pieces though and I'm so looking forward to the final episode! October 20th can't come fast enough.
I like your theory! But do you have any evidence to back it up?
SPOILER (click to toggle)
Why do you think Nathan was drugged in that sequence?
Also, do you think the little interaction Chloe and Jefferson had was fake on Jefferson's part? In one picture, Max notes that Rachel is 'awake and fucking furious.' That kind of also seems to be Jefferson's style-in a corner and desperate? So why wouldn't Chloe also fit the bill for that? Just curious :)

I guess it's more of a hunch because I don't really have any evidence. XD Not aside from the fact that

Jefferson has always seemed to favour Max and has never seemed to want to hurt her. I should also clarify that I don't think Max knows she's controlling the storm, it's just sort of happening as a result of her.
Except for that part where he did hurt her. Anyways, as of now, I'm done putting up spoilers because it's been over two months since the last episode came out (and, if stuck to the schedule, the fifth one should have been out by now), so that's done.
Anyways, I'm not sure if I think she's controlling the storm, so much as affecting nature and the environment itself through her powers. She's not controlling it the way she controls time, but that seems a likely way to end the series easily.

It's true that Jefferson has always liked Max but I've always found that interest to be a little creepy. Maybe because I was creeped out by him in general. Who knows hahaha.

I assumed that Jefferson is probably just trying to cover his tracks right? They both obviously know about Rachel's body so he decides to kill the both of them for knowing too much but he has always wanted Max's pictures first and foremost. I'm assuming that he'll try to kill her after that. Of course this is a generally boring theory, but what they did with Rachel was uncomfortably jarringly realistic so I kinda wanted to stick with the theme hahaha.
And that's a super interesting theory!! I like it and am very interested to see what will happen with the powers. We haven't seen anyone else referenced to having powers yet so that would be very cool if this happened... Kinda. I mean he's the worst to know about those powers but yeah. And the drugs though, are administered by the same method as Kate's description so I'm assuming administering GHB is a normal thing that he does and not because he actually doesn't want to hurt Max.
hahaha I dunno if I should stick to the spoiler tags. Technically, if someone does wander all the way to the second page, they've obviously played or are looking to spoil themselves right? :P

I believe that Nathan genuinely liked Rachel. His response when he thought Rachel was alive (via Max's clothes) was genuine excitement. I think it's very telling of their relationship. I don't think there are a lot of people Nathan smiles at. Which is also why I don't think he was too heavily involved in the photography part of the event and also partially a victim himself. (Or at least I'm hoping).
As for Chloe and Jefferson, all I know is that Chloe was never a target (hence no binder). If you notice, in the bunker, on the computer, Jefferson was photoshopping a picture of Kate also partially lucid. But you can tell she's sad and looks kinda demure. I think he does have a creepy pedo boner for trapped girls, but either Nathan going after Chloe first, or Chloe not being part of the school anymore, or just something about Chloe just put him off. I mean, for me Chloe has set of warning sirens for being trouble haha. But I don't know if Rachel is also kind of thorny--I think not because she hung out with so many people. She was definitely more personable than Chloe is at least :P
But if that's true, then where was the file with Max's name on it? They looked at them all to find those three, so it would be a little odd to not see that there.
I guess I'm assuming he's planning on killing Max to shut her up about everything to cover his tracks.
Anyways, I do understand your reasoning about why he killed her.
Also, what if Chloe can't come back (Max isn't able to rewind far enough back for example). Then that means that that's three strikes, like her necklace indicates. It's three bullets, and yes, two were from guns... the second, not so much. But that is a third even to think about in relation to the necklace metaphor.
There are so many unanswered questions! I really hope they answer all of them, even if I don't like them--just so long as they make sense. Only 20 days left!

That is actually a really good question--why doesn't Max have a binder. My only assumption is that it's because it was never set in stone that Jefferson could ever get his hands on Max. Victoria was chosen for the Everyday Heroes Competition so he had made the binder since he knew it was going to happen (probably that night too). I think the entire Max and Chloe event was a situation with only a couple hours of advanced notice. They only found the body little while before and now that it was a problem, then it had to be taken care of. I think that in a lot of ways Jefferson makes sure that his targets are close and comfortable with him around before he makes his move. Since Max continued to avoid him/hanging with Chloe, he never got his chance. (On a darker note, I'm fascinated at the idea that Jefferson is interested in Max because he sees a younger him in her).
I'm pretty sure the final bullet on the necklace will be the final confrontation/ending of the story. It's only fitting since the previous times she gotten shot were: the beginning and the climax. So in the interested of a pretty arc, I think she needs to live again to be dead at the end. I think it also has to be a gunshot specifically because Chloe and guns have been a major theme throughout the story (the last time that happened, it was Chloe and handicap parking/funding and we all remember how that turned out). We have spent this entire story trying to get Chloe to live so I'll be kind of mad if that's literally the end of her (And I'm assuming that Max will be able to travel via photograph so as long as that isn't ruined it'll be alright). I think the important part to note, for the ending, I think Max either has to realize that Chloe has to die (just like how she realized that Chloe's dad's fate was necessary for her to have Chloe back in the way that she wanted) or Max will do something so this entire thing doesn't happen in the first place--potentially sacrificing herself. I'm not too certain yet. It would be cool if Max got another power though! Since in Episode 1, she developed precognition and rewind time. Episode 2, she was completely able to halt time. Episode 3, she traveled through photographs. Episode 4, ... well there isn't anything lol but I'm hoping for one or two in Episode 5!!
On a different note, I find it super interesting that the amount of time that elapsed when she was in the alt dimension was the same as when she returned. Like Max has her own timeline in a way. And that for that certain amount of time, there was a Max that didn't get the photograph ability. I think Max's is honestly just kind of jumping timelines and displacing her other hers. Like this version of Max gets the priority. It's a little odd to me but just as fascinating--reminds me of Qualia The Purple (a manga I read a while ago)! And I'm also curious as to what happened to Alt Max. If she didn't get rewind powers because she didn't see Chloe. She must have gotten picked by someone to join the Vortex Club. But was that really the thing that changed her personality like that? Was it keeping in touch with Chloe? I NEED MORE TIME IN THAT TIMELINE PLEASEEEEE
Hasn't Chloe been shot three times now, though? There was the first shot in the beginning from Nathan, then in the junkyard when she's shooting the bottles (this only happens if you choose to shoot the bumper of the car), and then the final shot from Jefferson. I'm pretty sure there isn't more to the necklace beyond that, since she's been shot exactly three times now, so it was just foreshadowing for that, right? I actually didn't even think of the three bullets as three strikes, though. That's pretty scary! I hope it doesn't mean permanent death this time...
Also, did everyone assume that Nathan really sent the text about getting rid of the body? I actually thought it was Mr. Jefferson using Nathan's phone. There's also some peculation about Nathan not being at the party; mainly that Mr. Jefferson did something to him to prevent him from attending.
And actually, Jefferson really pushed for Max to enter the contest because I'm betting he would have picked her. He brushed of Victoria a lot.
I feel like Jefferson knew they were looking for answers because he's always one step ahead of them.
The scene at the junkyard was an option, not something that would happen no matter what and so you had to save her. I do sort of think it might be canon anyway because of the focus on the necklace at the end, you know? Like three strikes, you're out. Or, it doesn't have to be a bullet; it could have been in the AU with Chloe disabled-- she was going to die anyway, whether you chose to do nothing or chose the assisted suicide option.
I'm not an analyst or anything, just speculating and asking questions.

That's true! I didn't consider the fact that it was a result of an optional decision. It could just be representing total number of deaths. In any case, I don't think I can stand to see Chloe die again, haha.
Wow! To be honest I never really even tried to think about it from Jefferson's point of view. Particularly about how he's been pretty on top of it all recently. I guess that's mainly due to the fact that we still don't know much about him asides the fact that he's a major creep and rotten douche.
I think it was definitely Jefferson who sent that text. I think Nathan is probably being punished to do other work or etc so that Jefferson can handle the issue.
And yes, Jefferson's first choice was Max. The reason why she didn't have a binder though, was that it wasn't confirmed that Jefferson could get her. Victoria's wasn't shown either until the day of the party so I feel like while it could have just been a choice to make the game plot more mysterious, I think he didn't make the binder until he was sure he was going to get alone time with Victoria. So same theory goes with Max's non existent binder.
I agree with Pseudonym with the optional death. If you really want to count another death marker, it would be the train that Chloe almost got flattened by. Not the alt world Chloe slow death. Don't Nod is all about sneaky messages and foreshadowing which is why them focusing on the necklace at the end is super important. But yeah, as I stated before, personally I think there is gonna be another gun showdown! We'll see real soon!!!! For my own sanity though, I hope I'm not right hahahahaha
Final notes: In all honesty, we have so much we're missing in terms of information. From Max's power to explaining the entire Jefferson-Prescott situation. And Chloe constantly dying. I do think it's significant to note that the two universe's we have visited, both times she's been on the verge of death. But anyway, yeah, this last episode is going to be a doozey and probably feel like a slap in the face.
It's a little detail anyways. But less than 6 days left! I wish they would come out with a trailer already, NOT the teaser crap that just recaps the previous episodes :/
