I'm unsure of the release date. Hopefully it's not too far away!

I had similar misgivings about the series. I hadn't read the books before the movie came out, and my sister really wanted to see it, so my dad took us on a visitation weekend... I was hooked ever since.

I think my aunt wanted to read it as the first film came out the year after. By this point the first three books were out. My mother worked late in a supermarket and for all the book relases from the fouth onwards I made her hang around after work until midnight to get me a copy (she worked untill 11 anyway so I didn't make her wait long (plus staff discount £££)).

Which is your favourite book/film?

For the last few books, it seemed like every time a book was released, I was at my dad's house. So I didn't get it on Saturday, I'd get it on Sunday when I got home. I always got spoiled! It was annoying.

My favorite book is Chamber of Secrets! Favorite film would have to be the first one though.

Aw, that sucks they were spoiled for you! Luckily that never happened to me. I'm a quick reader so i usually managed to finish them in a few days (my family knew I would be unavalible for they days after a release).

Yeah, the first film is great! Such a classic.

I would finish them all within 24 hours lol. Just would stop long enough to eat and sleep. But still, everyone else got a head start.

Did you alway re-read it when you finished too? I used to read it through once as fast as I could (so noone would ruin it) the go through it again slower.

IT's the only book series I really got into and could read a million times.

I wouldn't, actually. But I've re-read them a million times since then though.

I'm guessing you live in America (as you're a MM), have you been to the Harry Potter world? I would love to go there! I was hopeing to get out there next year.

I live in England, so I've been to the studio tour. That was fascinating! They have so many of the props and so much behind the scenes information.

Whist at work the other day I had a Hogwarts jumper on, my client couldn't stop talking about how much he loved HP world.

I would love to go on the studio tour! Alas, that's even farther out of my reach than Orlando though.

Hi Thor, and welcome. =) FYI, I also didn't like HP at first, and PoA also my favorite book! Coincidences.

I also read and disliked the first chapter of HP1 as a 3rd grader, and didn't get hooked until I revisited it as a 4th grader and got past the part about the Dursleys. After that I was all about buying newly released books at midnight and staying up to read them.

My favorite book and movie are HP3.

I'd be so down for a Wizarding meetup at the Wizarding World someday! ^^

I'm just gonna jump into the conversation because it's interesting to hear Harry Potter fans and their first reactions to the books.

I never read any of the books until the fourth one came out. I'm from America and the school that I went to had a reading program (do get students to read) where each book was worth x amount of points and to pass the class you had to have 100 points. Well, Harry Potter always had the most points. That's how I got hooked. I read the first one and it was okay and by the fourth book I became a huge fan.

My favorite book is the fifth book, where every stress that Harry had finally weighed down on him. (and Dumbledore's quote of 'yes, harry, please continue to destroy my stuff'.)

That's hilarious! I'd so wear it. xD
