It was nice while it lasted, but I think it's fixed now. Which makes me worry, as I was RSing thinking it was the new normal again, or else a fix for prices, and now there's now the thought that instead it was abusing a glitch. D: And I don't remember everything I picked up to delete it. Any chance of staff feedback?

Yeah Saggi was even worse today. I even had a quest where my cheapest item was a super rare. Which was hella weird. I did notice that he's not asking for normal items anymore, and that he's asking for a lot of items more than once. But there are rares that are no longer even in shops. I am pretty dang sure this isn't a quest-a-thon side effect. Because it ONLY affects rares.
I think maybe his pool has been narrowed specifically to rares and super rares, so people are going through those items particularly quickly?

Part of the problem is that rares haven't been worth restocking in a while I'd say. They're in scarce supply because their prices have been rock bottom due to a lack of demand. Now that quests are asking for them, the supply has been run through rapidly.
There's also the fact that items are rotated out for 7 days if they aren't being restocked. That's a long time! And it's going to affect the items in scarce supply the most. Probably happening with items like the Purple Snowsuit - it's both out of rotation in the shops (due to low price before Quest-A-Thon) and only vending through OD, which has a massive pool to pick from.
This is one of those things that will take a while to settle imo. Now that the Purple Snowsuit is worth restocking, people are going to keep an eye out for it in the shops and drive the prices down. It's never going to stay at ~1 mil and the market will respond to it.
I do think the balance might need to be adjusted on super rares, though. I restocked 4 in one shop yesterday. The rares should be weighted more - not only is Saggi asking for them ~7/8ths of the time, but other quests demand them too, unlike super rares, contributing to this imbalance.
I'm so confused with the economy, especially with restocking the book nook.. one week a book will be worth 50k and then i turn around and suddenly its worth 2k ... like.. what the heck happened!! I think its a mix of vending and users not knowing when to under cut and when not to. -_-
why i dont get why you would reduce it by more than 50% just to get it to sell quick.. and now have a bunch of people have it as this price when they autoprice it :[
Saggi quests have changed again by the way. Doing them now and he's asking for commons. Having a lot more success vs yesterday.
thankyou
I wish I could go back in time..
Love economics - please keep making updates that benefit the economy like this.

Hopefully these changes will help make sp worth go up more.
There was a chance in the weekend quests. And they have gotten worse not better :(
I don't like the restocking changes, everything else is nice but restocking is not fun anymore.

I'm seeing positive changes with questing and I don't have any input on restocking because I haven't been doing it lately.

I can tell a bit about my experience so far: First, the Stun Gun was worth around 25-30k, then few days ago the Defend and Conquer & Weapons Warehouse restocked like crazy (like really) -> worth dropped down to around 7k (this happened to several other items as well), now it is worth 25k again because both shops barely restock anything... Also, shops do not get cleared anymore so that means the "crappy" items will be in the shop all the damn time, so if you happen to acquire one or several of those crappy items (maybe through questing or vending) you will not be able to sell them (easily). Before, you did not have to wait for them to be sold for that long because after a certain amount of time the shop will naturally clear the items, thus whoever needs said item will buy it from users. Only if someone does not buy the item at all (from what I understood) from the main shops then it will eventually not restock and people will buy it from user shops. Not sure if this change is a good one.. Other thing I noticed is that I restocked several of more rare items, and they were nearly worth as much as the 'normal' tagged ones. If I did happen to restock a very rare item (worth a lot), it will just be in my shop all the damn time and rott there forever because apparently noone needs that shit. Even if Saggi asks for an item worth 100k+ noone in their right mind would buy it because Saggi does not give out a reward higher than that (and he usually asks for more items than just 1). A specific example would be the Amulet of Life (same with Aqua Lite Crystal Sword, Charlie Crossbow, Charlie Leather Jacket, Crystal Dagger, Spaceoid, Cape of Scales, Sealed Scroll of White Magic [I restocked 46 of them now and only ONE got bought, LOL] I could go on and on) -- it has been in my shop forever and the price keeps on decreasing because NOONE needs and buys it. Several items that I got from the Library Quests share the same fate. What sells well are books and quest items in general, that is why those are sold out in a matter of few seconds in the main shops and that is pretty much what everyone is after. A lot of people buy quest items in bulks/hoard them like crazy so they can make a lot of profit.
edit: Another specific example - Cupcake Decorating is tagged as rare (73), it used to be worth 70k and it is now worth 7(!)k. The worth of items fluctuates like crazy o.o

- Thank you so much for doing all of this! I can't wait to see the new RS and questing changes. :) We all really appreciate it!
: I understand your frustration, but this seems to be the way it has been for a while now as new items keeps being introduced into the site. When I was playing six or seven years ago when there were not even half as many items as there are now, the prices were much more stable but I think it would be even more difficult in this state. As new items keep being introduced, RSers will flock to the relevant shops to buy the new stuff as they are more profitable when people need them for questing, thus creating such fluctuations in prices over the long term as supply exceeds demands. As there are more users, there are even more shops competing with one another and it is understandable that many will opt for cutting 50% or even 60% of their original prices just to sell their items quickly. Plus quests now give out items in rarity ranges between 60-99 and that adds to the already overwhelming supply for some items too. I don't think any visible changes to prices amongst user shops would be observed in any near future.
I'm actually not referring to new items being expensive at first and then decreasing in value as time passes by - that's pretty natural. True, the prices were indeed more stable back then and making profit was easy as fuck. I don't agree with people cutting off 50%/60% off original prices in their shops. If you want to sell that cheap feel free to make a forum topic about it but keep it private (that's what trades are for). A lot of people autoprice so then you will change the value of the item completely (which is sadly happening all the damn time now). At the same time the new price probably reflects the actual value of the item more. Even if it's worth 20m it is still worthless if noone buys it from you ;w;
