I've posted that the restock rate of the book nook has been increased ;)

While I LOVE that that Library finally got some attention (he was getting awful) I really hate that the second item comes from MB. On days when it switches to Apothecary it's going to be hell and the prices of ATG have already shot up to the point where doing quests today is very difficult. I finished maybe 6 quests and lost sP on all of them. In fact I dropped about 150k, and I was careful with the ones I did. It doesn't take long for items from places like ATG to shoot up in price or, sadly, for some users to hurriedly jack up the prices of these items so no one else can enjoy the quests.
^
I have just started doing Library Quests for today I am at 9/15 and only managed to do one between dear books and now stuff from the ATG it is not worth doing any of these quests.
This Truly SUCKS edit 4,5/15 boy that is so pathetic I can usually get all his quests done buy 4to5 quests out of 15 well the next time he is asking from the ATG I will not be doing any of his quests
Agreeing that the mystery box idea is really not a good one.
I disagree also on this change, I'm sorry, but I used to be able to do more quests when it was just a book, than with the mystery box, because - at least today - all that glitters isn't making it worth my time at all.
Had to cancel 9 quests to get a doable one, and I only got half of the sP I spent on the quest.
Did the value of items that you get put you above what you spent in total on the quests?

I don't have an issue with things coming from the Mystery Box, but when it is All That Glitters and Apothecary and the books are as expensive as they are, and I don't see a decrease likely, or not a slightly quick one... I'm not on board.
So let's hope that when that Quest-a-Thon starts, we don't get stuck with ATG and Apothecary.
Also, just because an item is valuable, doesn't mean the bugger will sell, so not always worthwhile.
Firstly, thanks for the reset so I (and everybody else) could try out the new quests! :-)
I'll reserve judgment for now, today being the first day and having gotten 20 Library Quests and all. But first impression of the new quests is... not so positive. I quit my average 5 quests, lost around 40k sP on the rest (not counting items) and got 3 super rares (worth between 58k and 79k each), 1 rare (38k), and 1 common (which, at 17k, is luckily worth more than the hover would suggest, or that would have been quite the slap in the face). By comparison, I believe the "old" quests were more profitable for me on average. But firstly, I'm not sure about that and secondly I've obviously done more of the old quests and therefore lack experience to judge the new ones (today could have just been one of the bad days).
I'd also appreciate it if at least Apocalyptic Apothecary be excluded as the Elixirs it now stocks are mostly above 100k already (at least those I come across) and need not become any more expensive as far as I am concerned... The sudden price-increase (80k for a common item? Come on!) in ATG items was quite bad enough for me...
I'll be looking forward to the further development! :-)
- there are some books that Alexander never asks for. Can you add them to the quest pool so the hideously expensive normals and rares aren't asked for so often?
It would seem that the really cheap ATG items were snatched from user shops in a couple of hours after the change. Now the price for some common items has shot up to 150K and above...
I also agree with Memoria - just because the current asking price for an item is something, it does not mean it will sell for that (if it will sell at all).
Edit: did my quests, completed 6/15 that came under my revised spending limit (80K/quest). I lost about 84K in sP, but gained items worth 540K, if (and, as always, that's a big if) they'll sell at their current lowest asking prices. So not too bad, I think I can increase my limit for the next ATG day.
Actually, no, not today. Of the quests I managed to complete, only two were SR, and both of them were low-priced ones. The other items I received from him were under 10k.
I think people need to let this settle before casting judgement and rejecting it. It's the first day and someone has artificially inflated the prices of a single shop. This won't happen most days and will calm when the hype dies down. Furthermore, the fact the prices were so low (to begin with) and the items you win aren't selling illustrates how important it is to start rotating the items asked for in quests. These things take time to settle. It's better to observe the change and take the good and the bad than outright rejection.
i think the MB is a rotten idea! i dont see me doing many of his quests now.
Predictability is an issue though, and one that will be taken advantage of. I can easily see someone inflating prices on loads of things with ease. I wouldn't call it judgement, I'd call it critiquing and being realistic.
But so many quests are predictable, give good prizes and haven't been manipulated. Alexander asked exclusively for books yet his quests were profitable. Maleria asks for weapons and potions every day. Pete asks for food every day. Half of the stuff Carl asks for comes from a single shop. Furthermore, the mystery box rotates between 36 shops. For the ~35 days Glitters isn't in the spotlight, prices will decreases thanks to less demand and consistent supply through restocking and quest rewards.
Except I've run into Apothecary and ATG way more often than I should in the Mystery Box. Both of those shops appear VERY frequently. And these prices for jewelry have always been high; unlike most other shops, we can't spot a restock of these items and grab them from their respective NPC shops. It's simply not worth forking over 35k for an item in shops on top of a book that already costs 50k. Alex isn't guaranteed to give us Super Rares and even when he does they aren't always sellable, and the sP profit is practically nonexistent with Alex. It's a world of difference from items that are NORMALLY 2-5k in NPC shops and items that are upwards of 30-40k in NPC shops which is what ATG is.
