After a lot of careful consideration and thinking, I am going to be taking a step back from the 'artist' side of Custom Wearables. This is not permanent. The plan is for at least a few month’s break, but I have no true ETA for when I’ll return.

Why? Since the beginning of this year I’ve been getting back into my regular art, and it’s been making me very happy. The problem I’m now having is that I have to decide between my regular art and custom wearables because I simply don’t have time for both. I have decided that as an artist, I will benefit more in the long run from focusing on my regular art.

What does this mean? [box=#C0C0C0]I will no longer be offering commissions, design sales, or recolors once I start my hiatus in one week’s time.[/box] [box=#C0C0C0]I will still be submitting and releasing my own items, but with less frequency than before once I get caught up on hoarded unreleased items. I will also still pop around and slot on other people’s releases and support the community when and where I can and have time for.[/box] [box=#C0C0C0]I now have a new ping group for regular art which is . You may join this group if you’d like to support me in my new adventures as an artist. Dejavu will remain a CW specific ping group, so if you’re only here for CWs, just remain in that group and you’ll get only the stuff you want![/box]

Before I officially leave; I didn’t want to blind-side anyone or make anyone feel hurt by my leaving, so I am going to offer unlimited recolor slots for one more week before I go officially on hiatus. I am not offering any PSD sales because I will be 100% for sure returning, so please remember that only I may recolor or edit items I created.

There are a few rules so I can get to as many people as possible:

1. You may only order up to 3 recolors at a time. (Once you’ve paid and gotten your files, you may order another three if the week is still active, etc until the week is over.)
2. These slots are for basic recolors ONLY. I am not offering any edits whatsoever so please make 100% sure you’re only asking for colors you want and only on designs / patterns that already exist.
3. If your original CW is older than 4 years, please ask me before requesting recolors so that I may check the PSDs and see if they are usable before I get started. Due to the way I used to work, there may be limitations on older files.

As always, thank you for supporting me. This was an incredibly difficult decision to make, and I hope that everyone can understand that I'm making this choice because I think in the long run it'll be better for me as an artist and as an individual.

I totally understand about wanting to focus more on your artwork. I know it's hard to focus on improving your art overall when you spend all of your time working on CWs. I definitely look forward to seeing your art! I'm interested to see what you will be offering if you are selling.

ToT That means so much to me, thank you. I knew this wouldn't be a super easy thing to do, so I wanted to make sure no one felt like I was leaving them behind or anything. I had a lot of help from my husband and with deciding what would be the best way for me to switch over to doing regular art and they helped me so much to make the right choice for everyone I think ❤️

It has been SO long since I've done non-CW art on Subeta haha. Like probably over half a decade. x'D So it ought to be interesting! I've mostly just been keeping it to myself and working on personal pieces LOL

I'm glad too haha, and I totally agree! It feels like CWs took over a good portion of my art life (and not in a bad way) but I feel like I need to branch out so I can become stronger and come back to this community like a wrecking ball with new skills flex lol

You're totally right. CWs have taught me so very much about art and refining my skills, but there is only so much I can do when limited to a box / rectangle for so long. One of my biggest regrets is never fully understanding how to wrap my head around background pieces, and I think that's because the rectangle of the HA confuses me. I hope I can conquer that mountain while I'm gone and finally come back and offer some new stuff :)

I didn't want anyone to feel abandoned by this choice. I love this community so much, and I would never leave it behind. Thank you so much for your kind words, it means a lot to me. ❤️
