- What interesting changes being made. I do apologise for not being around as much, things in my life have been pretty hectic and with the possibility of employment I may have even less time than i already do to participate. Would it be better if I left the site that way I'm not being dead weight?

I am from Mexico so I don't celebrate 4th of July, but it always happens to be holidays between a school semester and another so it's good either way!! Unless I am in summer courses. I always take a whole weekend off :P

I've never had american-mexican food but I don't think I'd like it because I've had the real thing and it might not work well that way to me :P

Thai sounds a little indian. I had something that had potatoes, some mix of nuts and spices, they also gave us some tamarind sauce to go with it and it also had cream. It tasted so particular I went all like "definitely tastes like what you'd think indian tastes like". There's only 2 indian food places in the state so I'll have to try the other in order to decide if there's anything better than that (or go to India, I'd love thaaat <3 )

Your cuisine sounds so delicious, I am s jealous!! Most of my food includes well... tomato sauce or garlic.... very mexican ^-^' I wiiiiish I could make curry, many kinds!! I bet I could make so many different dishes to entertain myself for the rest of my life. I love cooking.

No-phone time are the bests. My boyfriend never checks the phone when he's with me unless I am busy and he's just waiting for me to finish w/e I am doing. Does your boyfriend cook? I've been wanting to teach mine to do so but I don't have an oven here so it's kind of hard to make a lot without an oven :P

A GIFT IN MAAARCHH? Awwww ❤️ You let me know what he gets you for your birthday!! You seem to be very very in love. Mine and I will be 5 years in november, I wonder what will it be like in 2 years!! I hope I have a ring in at least 4 years. If you know what I mean xD

You're very welcome! I hope you had a great birthday! Yep lots of July babes! I'm glad too because July is the best month in my very humble opinion! ;)

No need to leave the site! We are very welcoming to users who are not very active since we know everyone has lives out of subeta/Diva! Feel free to continue being a user and only checking in every so often as it will be lovely to hear from you even if it's a rare event! <3

Haha American-Mexican is stuff like burritos (flour tortillas stuffed with meat - we usually do chicken or ground turkey, cheese, lettuce, salsa, sour cream, onions/guacamole/tomatoes/corn, and rice). We have one "authentic" Mexican cuisine near us and we ate there once and hated it. But we've never actually been to Mexico to actually eat their food which I'm sure is so much better.

Well Thai and Indian both have curries but they use mostly different spices and bases so they taste very different from each other. We have tamarind paste at home that I throw in a lot of my sauces! Curries are actually pretty simple if you have all the ingredients on hand! I can usually throw it together in about half an hour. I cook pretty Asian but I also do a little Indian or the generic pasta with olive oil, garlic, parsley, and parmesan cheese when I'm feeling lazy. Garlic is sooo good.

Ha-ha my bf is learning how to cook and he cooks a lot more often now that I come over most every night. He's definitely interested in learning and likes to try and create sauces/marinades (although most of the time he asks for guidance and me to pick out the correct spices). But at least he tries! He's gotten so much better since a year ago so it's great when I don't want to cook and he feels confident enough to throw something together!

Do you have a stove? Cause you can just throw things together in a pan to make a quick stir fry! No oven required!

I will definitely let you know! He almost gave it to me tonight and I'm like nooo wait until my real birthday!! Aw I think we are soul mates but I'm pretty corny like that! OMG cuteee I hope you get your ring! I'm still in the indecisive stage of do I want to be married? And also the stage of this is not the ideal situation to be engaged. (I'm out of a job, about to move in with him within the next month, and his two brothers are still living with him in his house). So we're not really thinking about that yet although he knows what ring I want and he let it slip that 'he would possibly like to marry me'. I'm also a real slow poke in relationships and it took 5.5 years for me to be comfortable saying that we loved each other so I'm happy to just be dating for now. ;)

Burritos aren't certain a mexican thing.... but sound good!!! Do you remember what did you try at the mexican place? :P I am curious

Are the bases the things in which you put the curry and then you get the creamy stuff? Because I literally have no idea how you go from this to this (that's the dish I had at the indian food! It smelled soo goood!!) Pluuus, all the curry I know is the one that you can buy in the supermarket which isn't probably real curry :c I don't even know how could I throw stuff together in order to have curry. Like, boom take some parsley boom some pepper boom some chilli boom some peanuts and boom¨ there's the curry? XD

Oh, throwing shit together sounds definitely what I want to do! Spices are so expensive tho!! And so are vegetables, I am not a fan of meat so I don't know what to do anymore most of the time .__.

I have a kind of stove... yes, I have a stove... it can be said that I do xD it works. Frying stuff together is what I do but I am very fond of tuna (because lazy) and pasta soups.. usually because I am also poor hahaha. I made some sausages with chipotle uuh!! Super good and super spicy ❤️

Awww, that's cuuute!! My boyfriend is so patient for gift giving and I am like... "dammit, give it to me alreaaaaady!!" hahahaha.

Waaa, I definitely am not in the ideal situation but I also fantasize that by the time I'll have a job and I'll be stable enough to go live in a place of our own and start our new lifes together. My relationship is more precocious, we definitely want to live together and get married and wake up together every day and breakfast together and travel :D Long relationships are so good! I have a friend who met a guy for like 4 months, got pregnant and then married and she seems to have a happy marriage and family and it's kind of weird for me because I couldn't marry someone I've met for so little time!!! It's so good that you're going to live together soon! It'll be a whole new experience for you ❤️

Apologies for any mistakes or odd words! I'm typing on a tablet!

Ha-ha yep burritos are an American thing that originated from tacos/corn tortillas. I think I had enchiladas? Which I don't ever remember liking even when done in the americanized version with more spice. So I probably should have gotten something else. xD

Well the dry stuff is most likely curry powder which can be used in wet curries (your second picture) or can be used in a dry spice mixture to season the meat, chick peas, or tofu (or really whatever you're curry maybe consist of). I think that may just be Indian yellow curry usually made with tumeric, cumin, and curry powder. (I just quickly looked up an Indian yellow curry recipe: http://www.justataste.com/yellow-curry-chicken-with-basmati-rice/).

Spices aren't too bad because you have to remember they aren't just one time use! So they may be expensive in the initial purchase but you can use them for many months and for multiple dinners after!

If you don't want to purchase veggies out meat you can just server the curry with rice! It's cheap and still tastes good! You can also premake curries and freeze them to be really reheated for a quick dinner! Oooo yum I love spicy!!

Lol!! He knows I love surprises so he's always trying to keep me guessing. He even started up till midnight just to tell me happy birthday before any one else it was cute cause he had work in the morning!

Ha-ha yep! I fantasize about all of that too. I basically already live with him, a lot of my stuff is here and I spend most every evening and basically every weekend at his house. I have my own designated spot for my towel and shower items. But that's adorable! At least you guys know you want a future together which is definitely the first step to marriage. ;)

OMG! I could never just meet someone and within 4 months be married. I mean tbh in studies it takes at least 6 months to even establish if you want to keep trying with the relationship. So 4 months?? No thanks. I'm pretty sure we were still on what's your favorite color at that time and not what color do you want or wedding flowers to be. XD

Oh, enchiladas. I am not a fan..... not everyone can make a good sauce to go with those. Same with chilaquiles.

That's true! Spices work for moooonths :P Now I feel like I want to make a sauce to accompany with some good vegetables. I don't know how to make rice! I know there's the pre-made one but it's not as good as real rice, I am still not confident about that one :x I recently saw some "aromatic" rices in the supermarket, they seemed interesting but it'd be a shame to buy them and then spoil them :P

The recipe sounds delicious! I'd use beef or pork instead because I don't eat chicken but I am sure even shrimps would be awesome with that (I LOVE SHRIMPS).

Awww, that's sweet!! I already told my bf to bring some shirts over for when he come from working and he needs something a little bit more loose to relax :P He comes over and lives with me the weekends.

Riiight? I remember that at 4 months I was starting to lose the shyness with my bf, and even two years afterwards we were still discovering each other. It's just.. too soon hahaha.

Also, yay, it's your birthday already ❤️ Enjoy the day beause it is yours and no one has the right to make you feel bad or anything!

All positive vibes :D

Haha yeah.. I'm not a fan of them either so don't ask me why I decided to get them. xD Maybe I thought they'd be better if they were authentic? Who knows!

You can make rice in just a regular sauce pan with a lid! You just have to keep stirring it so it doesn't burn to the bottom (but at the same time trying not to let ALL the steam escape). You should try making jasmine, basmati, or sticky rice! Those are the three we make and tend to be pretty easy & straight forward. Just make sure they don't have any added vitamins or nutrients to them or else the water will easily bubble over!

My boyfriend loves shrimp too! So he puts it in everything! (While I dislike everything seafood, besides fish.) I believe shrimp will taste great in the yellow curry, since the boyfriend enjoys shrimp in his!

Aw that's cute! See you guys are already starting to move in! ;) Haha yes!! It took me quite a few years before I was basically 100% comfortable with my boyfriend, but hey I mean to each his own! I just always worry with fast relationships that they're going to hit a snag & not know how to deal with it because they rushed into everything (so whose to say they won't rush out of it!!).

YAY THANK YOUUU!!! ♥ I'm so exciteddddd. :-*

You all say "rice's so easy just do this or that" but I seriously can't XD My mom says something about washing the rice first and then drying it (how do you dry riceee???) and then frying it a little and then adding water..... Something like that. Sounds too much! Tried that once, it sucked so much I ended up doing arroz con leche xD thanks God I didn't put salt on it that time, I wanted some plain rice.

I don't enjoy much food either but salmon is always soooo goood! And oysters are good as well!! Uh, and so it's crab and octopus and squid. Maaan, I love sea food when it's not necessarily fish :P

I like to tke my time, depending on the situation. Things are more romantic when they go at their own flow :P I think....

Gonna go watch Ant-man right now :P Hope you have a fantastic rest of the day, let me know what the gift is!!

LOL well for some rice you do have to wash it - especially ones that have vitamins added to it because it makes the water bubble over. Other rice you can just plop in the pan depending on the brand! You might find cooking it easier if you soak the rice beforehand & then simmer it in a covered saute pan. You just have to find the correct method of making rice that suits you! We have a rice cooker.. soooo. But I have made rice in a pot before & I'm decent at it (although not going to lie it HAS burned to the bottom a few times). 8)

Ooo, arroz con leche? That's something with milk right (or caramel?)? I assume it's sweet because you didn't want the rice to be salty! xD

My boyfriend LOVES anything seafood and I'm like welppp you can cook it then CAUSE IM NOT EATIN IT!

Oh I definitely think things are much more romantic and sweeter when you go at your own pace. Of course that could mean fast! I think it all depends on the type of person BOTH of you are & that's what's going to make it work. When you go at a pace that's suitable for the two people in the relationship.

Oh oh and for my gift he got me a huge drawing tablet! I had been needing a new tablet for quite a long time, I have the small bamboo Wacom one and it's just gotten to be too tiny and one of the lights stopped working (the button still works, but the light just decided to die) - I mean I have had it for over 5 years, and before that my boyfriend had it for a year or so. I'm so excited though because it's MASSIVE. I can't wait to use it!

Hi and welcome aboard! I hope you like it hereee! <3

YAY! Congrats on finishing the internship until September!! <3

Hahaha ❤️ Yes, food is delicious and super super good! I love eating all the time. Specially since I am in those days every girl has once a month, I am like "gaaah, gimme fooood!!"

Maaaan, I want a rice cooker but I think they're expensive. At least more expensive than a coffee machine and coffee machine here's a priority. And yes! Arroz con leche, it's basically rice very very soft with milk and sugar, you add cinnammon too, it's delicious. Some people prefer it hot but I like it cold! :D

I guess that the reason I love seafood is because I grew with it. If I wasn't born in the place I was born and hadn't tried much sea food during my childhood, I'd probably don't like it either ^-^'

I didn't know you drew! What kind of things do you draw? Sounds like a super amaziiiing giiiift!! I don't think I've ever gotten something as cool as that!
