It has been suggested that if it were implemented it would be a random buff, not a continuous feature.

I do actually get what you mean. I still think you should get a GA if you want the convenience, because lowest price is a GA perk, and it makes pricing easy enough unless you have a 439853476 page shop.
Thanks for the condescension though!
I sensed no kind of condescension in anyone's posts. It was more what seemed like a simple concept wasn't being understood because of other individuals' word choice. I happen to think was very clear on their meaning, and few people seemed to acknowledge what the real meaning was. They were referring to it as "auto-pricer" when it was stated later and the title changed to "lowest price" as a feature.
Now, on to the real topic:
The auto-pricer itself is useful for a gold account, but what are the odds of me actually buying a gold account for CSC or real money? I prefer to buy using Sp because, well, I don't have a lot of money (see: none at all) outside of the Internet. I live day to day on whatever money I can get, and it's rough. So I get to the internet to make my life easier and forget about my problems temporarily. Later I can deal with them; I want to have fun.
I recommend making it a permanent feature (the lowest price feature, not the auto-pricer) because of two reasons:
1) I don't have hours to waste on pricing items I've collected over the course of the day. This includes manually pulling up a million tabs, refreshing a million times, and having to manually input the numbers per page. Not to mention I have to do this again and again for multiple pages.
2) What about the people who live in countries where they are charged by the GB? Think of all the images having to reload again and again? Or the ones who can't use cookies without some issues, so they can't cache their images like you can on most sites? That takes up a lot of GB and costs the users more money just to enjoy something so simple.
Okay, I actually have a number 3:
Think about how much data is used whenever someone has to load a page. Think about the server for Subeta, where it uses more data again and again every time someone has to query the database. That costs money that wouldn't be replenished if it was a full auto-pricer, true, but a lowest price feature isn't going to hurt that income.
People who only get the gold account for the auto-pricer are missing out. There's the extra quests to make money from, the exclusive access to the gold account forum, the shorter waiting time to use the zapper, the increase in pet slots, and many many more! The gold account is rife with a million and one things to do (I'm exaggerating but it's useful!), all of which I can't possibly do inside a week!
So the amount of query on the database saved from the lowest price feature cuts down on the cost of the servers, and any money that's "lost" (which is always potential because monetary gain could remain the same or even go up!) would be more than saved with the lack of database strain.
Also, as a note: people who see the lowest price feature and want the ability to auto-price will probably be that much more enticed to buy a gold account because hey! All those prices available, wouldn't it be great if we could automatically assign that price to items?! That's what they'd think!
If I thought that would alleviate any real amount of server strain gods knows I'd be in favor. I think however that in practice it would actually end up doing the opposite. People who don't price often would price more often and price adjust more often, now that they can see the lowest price all the time regardless. Then there would be the cough lovely people who would sit there and get into "OMG my item is now ONE WHOLE SP less than yours!!" wars and the constant updating would probably negate or make negligible any change in server queries or database usage if there were any positive change at all.
I myself usually only sport a GA for the lowest price feature. Sure, extra quests, vending, but I want to add cheap items to hoard for the recycle beast, hoard for the achievement and find cheap Rares to frag. Half the time I don't even auto price my shop. XD And about as much I can't be bothered to quest on the tablet and often only do so when I'm at a desktop. I have to wonder how many people are like me in that regard.
I don't think they'd ever pass it as a buff, but I wouldn't be against it. It would probably make someone's day if they were blue and got it so they could price their shop, even if by hand.
Do you have a rare item that just won't sell? Are you going through the high levels of Item Hunt? Or maybe you just HATE that blue bunny? Then you should join IHH helpers and IHH bargain in the forum groups!
I see your point on the price-wars, though as someone who takes into account all possibilities, I don't really see people doing that. Most people won't waste their time pricing manually over and over again just to stay one Sp ahead of the others. But it is something to take into consideration, you're right.
I didn't even know the Lowest Price aspect was part of the Autopricing perk that GA users have...then again...I was only on Subeta around 2 weeks before I got a GA and as far as I'm aware...have basically kept it ever sense. And I didn't know Autopricing could be done without having to spend CSC...I only used it once and when it subtracted CSC...I haven't used that part of the Autopricer since than...than again, I don't buy THAT much CSC in a month anyways...normally around $10...and that's to keep my GA and a 500 CSC Card.
My opinion of the Lowest Price thing being a buff or just some weird feature. Buff? If it's anything like the Main Shop one, no...that's way to easy to get. RE? Again, I'd say no...but than again this computer can't really close a page before it's completely loaded or else it'll freeze so 'missing' an RE can't really happen. Some weird feature? Depends on what the 'weird' is.

I don't support this because it's a privilege that people pay for and I don't think autopricer functions should be broken up either.

I think this, even done as a buff, would have a negative impact on GA sales.
If you want this perk, pay the $5.
Well, like the restocking buff, you'd have to do something (probably restock, idk) to get it. So, autorefreshing wouldn't help
I would only support this if it were a fairly rare buff, and only lasted for a very short amount of time. (Like 20 minutes).
Frankly I cannot see this benefiting the site as a whole. Yes, it does make it more convenient for users, but it would probably lower the number of people buying GA accounts, which would have a negative impact on the site.
If this were a very rare and short buff, it probably wouldn't create that much of an impact, but then people would bitch about it expiring too quickly.
Throughout the many pages of this thread, it didn't seem clear to many users what was being proposed. It was in no way meant to be condescending, just an explanation as it seemed that people were missing the point. It actually seemed like people didn't even bother to read the OP and just chimed in with their opinions on auto pricing, a completely different facet of a GA.
It's a valid point you bring up and that is why we need discussion on this topic. It could be a very lucrative sP sink depending on how much it costs for this feature, but it could also bring away money from GA purchases. I understand where you're coming from, but the site desperately needs more sP sinks and this could be a good option. Simply writing off this idea isn't going to help anything.

A buff at least wouldn't take money from the site, I'm not sure where you're turning this into an sP sink from? Even the original suggestion didn't include paying for the feature. Just because you want something to be implemented doesn't mean the suggestion is worthwhile.
