Hey everyone, I'm Rei. I was wandering the forums a little bit and wanted to see how large the BoI/BoI:R fanbase was on here. Especially with the 3DS hype that is growing in the near future!

What do you all think of the game? What character(s) are your favorite? What items, or bosses? There is so much to this game for being a simple rogue-like. I'd love to hear your opinions.

I've played more of the original than rebirth, but I think I prefer rebirth.

My favorite character would be eden, I just love the randomness of it, even though you do end up a little underpowered sometimes. I also like Isaac with D6 unlocked. Favorite items would be Technology (and Technology 2 of course), cube of meat and the gamekid. I'm not sure what my favorite bosses are, but my least favorite is Famine.

At this point I've got about 300 hours in Rebirth. Eden is pretty good. When I first started playing I thought Azazel was the best thing since sliced bread, but that was because he is easy to play. I've got a thing for Samson right now. I'm currently trying to beat all the challenges, and having a terrible time of it.

I think the best thing about Technology 2 is that it allows you to keep your own tears in addition to the beam. It provides an extra cushion for play, which is awesome. Right now I really like the Halo, if only because it's the same as Magic Mush without the size up.

I still need to get the level 4 meat boy (I got bandage girl on accident a few months ago), and that seems to be one of my biggest problems besides unlocking the Spoiler.

- I've seen my boyfriend play Rebirth several times and I have played a little bit of the original. They're fun games, but I don't have enough experience to say anything about it.

- Some Binding of Issac fans in this forum. :)

I must be the only person in the world who didn't actually find Azazel easy :// My girlfriend does great with Azazel but I can barely get to Mom >_>

That's fine! Everyone has a different play style. The up-close and personal style that you need for him isn't always for everyone. Sometimes people are more comfortable with strafing and being far away.

How far have you guys gotten in terms of plot/completion?

Rebirth but I'm still grinding for a good Blue Baby run. I had one and lost it with cursed eye. I currently have four pieces of the Polaroid.

In rebirth, I've killed It Lives/Moms Hearth a few times (with isaac, eden, magdalene and I think I've finished it with Judas or Cain once?) , gotten into cathedral and sheol a few times but only managed to beat Satan once with a very overpowered Eden :// Still trying desperatelly to unluck the d6 in rebirth, but not going very well so far...

Cursed eye might be one of, if not my least favorite item. I got trapped in a loop of fighting the lamb because he'd teleport and I'd be charging. It's a total mess. What is your favorite item?

As long as you keep at it, you'll start unlocking cooler and cooler items that will help you win runs. How long have you been playing?

The technologies I always pick up because of their fun synergies but I'm going to have to be boring and say Brimstone. I pick it up no matter what health I have because its so fun to play with

Azazel is hard, its like playing a completely different game because he's basically a melee character

Blank card + Jera rune = a great synergy. How far have you gotten at this point? Are you trying to fill up the Blue Baby post-it?

It took me forever to unlock the D6, I eventually got tired of watching Northernlion videos on youtube where he had the item and decided it would be best for me if I just sat down and worked only on unlocking it.

Northern Lion is fairly new to me, my first video was of him getting godhead and I went from there. I still watch my old lets player Deafinition whenever he uploads new BoI videos

I started watching NL randomly, I usually watch the Yogscast play. I just decided to check out one of his videos and its become a nice way for me to wind down after a long day.

I'm so excited for Afterbirth, and even more excited for the 3DS version of BoI! There's gonna be so much happening!

I need a new n3ds to play it though and I am lacking in the money department, but I am excited to see Nintendo let it through. Did you see the April Fools around the 3ds version?

Oh my GOODNESS yes! With the scientology jokes!?!? And the barking DOG instead of god?

Part of me wishes someone would make a set of mods in order to play the game with those things incorporated.
