I vend to the limit daily and I would be furious to see it removed or restricted any further. It is absolutely my main source of income.

I tend to cycle between Prize Get and Celebration Gift, because those tend to have the lowest number of items under 1000sP per 500 vends (thank you Pete and Maleria).

I vend pretty frequently - sometimes at places where new restockables will pop up like Dragon's Hoard for shoes. Otherwise normally Celebration Gift and Oceans Depths.

Suggestions to make vending more worthwhile:

  • Increase the token cost per vend.
  • Combine machines together for a maximum of like 4-5 and group them by shop theme e.g food, magical/weaponry, clothing, collectables etc.
  • Following on from that, add in shops that aren't currently included. Make a larger item pool for every machine so each pull is more valuable.
  • Decrease the number of vends per day, but raise the number available on weekends. Eg. 200 during the week but 300 on Sat/Sun. Decreases the vending by a subtle amount.

LIMIT THE MYSTERY BOX. Make it equal to the vending limit at least and raise the sP price to a set cost per shop so people stop cheating it by the item price.

How to increase token worth:

  • Have a permanent stock in the TS. Clothing, possibly boosters etc.
  • Stock more high token items, making it like a more often restocked BHH in between big stocks/new items would be pretty cool. Would also stop the potion price crash that we sometimes get with a mass rs!
  • Have a day every month where you mass release some ancient collectables/trivia prizes etc.

Quote

Maybe instead of ten machines, have one. This one machine pulls items from three NPC shops, which are selected at random and change of a daily basis. This stops the ease of vending for a particular items, or the value of other items being constantly dragged down to the popularity/demand of one type of item found there. Also creates a bit of community cohesion in finding out what&;s vending each day.
This idea is cool but I don't agree that it should be random, otherwise we will still end up with some shop items being worthless. I also don't think the 'unlock' tiers should be that high or, again we will have uneven amounts of items going out for certain shops. Also - don't we want to decrease vending, not encourage even more people to vend and unlock something?

Just noticed you are scrapping special vending items too, thank you ;___; It was murdering item prices!

1. Do you vend at all? Not really. 2. How often? Maybe twice a year max- it just doesn't hold any appeal for me. 3. At which machines? I think Ocean Depths.

I wouldn't mind seeing more things restocked to the token shop or perhaps making the forum shop (or some other shop) items be able to be bought with a bunch of tokens instead (ex: 5 points = 500 tokens). I don't have any real opinion on getting rid of them- I personally wouldn't miss them, but I know lots of other users would. For those of us who don't vend though, it'd be nice to have something to spend our tokens on.

1. Do you vend at all?

Yes. And usually the days that I vend I go right up to the 500 vend gold account limit.

2. How often?

About 5 days a week. It depends a lot on whether I've left myself enough time to do so (after quests, ect.)

3. At which machines?

Primarily at Celebration Gift, but I also vend a bit at Prize Get, Burning Chance, and Shining Crane. I avoid the other machines unless I'm vending for the special vending machine items. When I do vend from Grave Digger or Blue Moon the items go right into the fragmentizer.

Other notes:

I don't want to see vending eliminated. I not only enjoy it, but it's one of my main sources of income on subeta.

I would like to see more uses for tokens (more expensive token shop items would be good for one thing.) If the price of tokens goes up, there is usually less vending. Which makes the vended items more valuable. I also love it when we have extra reasons to quest. (Like when we get bonus sp for questing, or there's a chance for a goodie bag, ect.) More questing equals more stable items prices.

I'm not opposed to less vending machines. Although I don't know how I feel about there only being one. Not all items are equal. Books, weapons, and food items all usually keep their prices the best. That's because there are quests that ask for those specific types of items. If we do have only one vending machine, I'd like to see it vend those three types of items all the time. Not exclusively, but often enough that the items aren't going to super inflated because there aren't enough in circulation.

I'm not sure how I feel about less vends per day. I guess that if the item prices go up, I would feel ok with that. But unless there is a use for extra wizard tokens in circulation (the prices are already too low as it is) you might simply end up with more users vending.

Either way (with less vends OR less machines) I'd like to see a higher rarity limit on the machine(s), maybe up to rarity 90. A few higher rarity items thrown into the mix really helps with keeping vending profitable. One of the reasons that I love vending from Celebration Gift is that fact that it gives out some really high rarity items. Variety of useful items also helps. Celebration Gift also has a nice large pool of useful items (85% food from many different shops), so that also helps to keep vending from that machine profitable. In contrast Blue Sky seems to give out 30% beanbags (not asked for by any certain quest), 30% music shop (not asked for by any certain quest), and 30% books (mostly low to mid rarity.) So 2/3 of the items I vend from there have a very low resale value. And the books that I do vend from there are mainly the books that are already restocking frequently in the main shop.

  2. How often? I vend every single day, in fact, I make sure my gold account is up to date just so I can vend 1000 tokens instead of 500
  3. At which machines? I cycle through each of them. I do one vending machine a day until I have done them all, then start all over again!

Please don't get rid of vending, it's pretty much the only reason I buy gold accounts :( The only "tweak" i would like, would be a way to Auto-vend, maybe if you pay a fee. SP or CSC or something.

Auto vending would absolutely destroy item prices ._. As it is, it takes like 5-10 minutes to vend to maximum anyway?

1) Do you vend at all? Sometimes.

2) How often? Whenever I feel I have enough tokens to spare when there isn't going to be a TS restock.

3) At which machines? Prize Get/Blue Sky/Celebration Gift the most, but I jump around for tiny bits of items here and there.

And if you think vending should be removed / further restricted, how would you like to use your wizard tokens instead?

Quote by Speiro
Use the token shop for more than 1-2 items every month. You can have items that are meant to sit there for days, instead of selling out in 30 seconds. Either cheaper items with thousands in stock, or more expensive items that require saving (like the Aemis) so people have a solid goal.
I really like this idea as the token shop barely gets stocked as it is unless there's an event/holiday going on. It would really sink some tokens that people like to otherwise hoard or would spend on vending everyday.

Pretty much everything in 's post is what I agree with in a nutshell though.

  1. I almost never vend, I personally don't think it's fun. I have no objections to other players finding it fun, good for them! (Now sell me your stuff.)

  2. I will vend for Drills when I'm doing that. I do a lot of restocking but I am old and slow so I miss the limited-time items with high-ish but still-vendable rarities completely if I don't vend, so I will vend for that, too. If the item is rare but is not time-limited, I've been playing for eight+ years here now so I take the long view. "I will eventually restock it so I don't have to vend for this item".

  3. I'm not particular about which machines. I dunno what's so special about Ocean Depths that other vendors love it so much though. I get more sP per WT from other machines. =====

My stance on vending limits?

First of all I am strongly opposed to further limiting vending. I was against the limits in the first place so any further restrictions are right out. So what if they compete with my restocks? Subeta is not required to compensate me (or anyone else) for my (their) bad stocking decisions. Games and quests both act as a social safety net for the site.

How to blow more WT back out of the system?

I remember back when I first joined Subeta, Token Shop restocks were a lot more common and the WT prices were higher. A TS restock back then was not necessarily an it-just-hastabee-profit-making purchase so much as it was a neato "thanks for playing Subeta" thing. Sometimes members of my (then, Neopets-based) cult would trade WT and TS items back and forth with each other and this would increase purchases from the TS. Because the TS restocked semi-regularly and semi-often, you could day-trade WT for profit. Since the TS item was often a new item that didn't show up elsewhere, you could also make a scarcity-profit on it about eight months later.

You could put Elwood's shop on the map so more people can see it. Give him access to his cousin's attic or something, so he has more stock.

The current surfeit of WT is due to changing the quest to give out more WT, not because the site needed more WT, but because users were complaining. It is my belief that the current price of WT was their intention. If all y'all TPTB think that the current WT price is too low, then reduce the amount that Allard gives out. Me, I'm sitting on 90KWT much of which I'm gonna blow come Morostide 2015 to get all of the zapper skins. But if you restricted their outflow, I would be persuaded to sell my surplus to vendors: I don't need all of the skins right away.

  1. Do you vend at all? Sometimes.

  2. How often? Only when there are retired items available in vending machines for a limited time, and very occasionally if the vends match up with the Quest of the Week.

  3. At which machines? Whichever machine has the items I'm looking for at the time.

I don't vend regularly because I find the clicking very boring, and because nothing of any real value comes out of any vending machine that I can't get faster and more easily from a shop. The only time I vend is to get retired items, or sometimes if I want to try my luck at the limited items, but I find where limited items are concerned I'd rather just RS, earn the money, and buy it from another user than waste my tokens on chance.

But aside from personal preference, I'd like to see if there's something to be done about the flood of items spilling over the site. I'm very glad there's a limit on daily vending, that helps, but I honestly don't know of a solution other than limiting the machines or how often vending happens. I do think putting limited and exclusive items in vending machines absolutely encourages vending which encourages a flood of deflated items, so I'd suggest less of those incentives.

Maybe the solution is vend-only items only, the way Quentin's quest is the only way to get Graveyard store stuff. Then, the items might retain some of their own value, and wouldn't flood the site with items that can already be bought in stores.

Edit: Forgot to add, I'd love to be able to use my tokens somewhere but have trouble catching BHH restocks and the token shop doesn't stock often enough. If there were some other source for tokens, I'd likely use it rather than vend, as long as it's not too chance based. It probably won't fly, but I thought maybe a token:crystal exchange rate (tokens for crystals) might be handy for getting rid of tokens. Something really costly, like a 10:1 token to crystal rate or something.

Edit edit: Or hahaha. God. what if SubQ took tokens?

  3. At which machines? Mostly Ocean's Depth right now, since I just unlocked it. But vend from all the machines.

And if you think vending should be removed / further restricted, how would you like to use your wizard tokens instead? Please do not remove vending, I find it a peaceful thing to do in my crazy life.. Also I would like to see more items in the Wizard shop.

  3. At which machines? Blue Sky (for the books), OD and Celebration Gift. If there is a release of retired items in a machine, I'll try my luck there, too.

And if you think vending should be removed / further restricted, how would you like to use your wizard tokens instead? I love the suggestion someone made of having some very expensive, permanent items available for thousands of tokens in the TS.

I like vending... I hate the restrictions on vending. It makes me NOT want to vend because of the limits.

I like vending at Dragons Hoard or Ocean Depths, it depends on the day and if there's new items that are released. Honestly I'd rather have an increased vending limit and if you add more vend only lines of clothing... I'd like the odds tweaked because right now they're ridiculous.

We're taking a look at our token shop stocking as well, including stocking more items there and some with higher prices but with higher amounts so they stay around for a little bit longer after we put them in. Mostly doing the work there :)

Please please please don't take vending away :(

I may not vend as much as I used to, but if there wasn't a cap, or the cap was higher, I'd vend more often.

I maintain the vending guide, and therefore I try to keep up on all the machines. When I do vend, its at one machine for the day's cap, and I try to vend at different machines. I haven't vend at Ocean Depths in some time.

I do wish the Uncharted Map was as hard to get as it was when I got mine, I paid about 13mil for mine nearly 8 years ago. And if its no longer required to gain access to OD, it should be. I think Ocean Depths gets more attention than the other machines because its mainly clothes and because of the chance to get Riptide. I think some changes could definitely be made to Ocean Depths.

I don't use the zappers, I never check Blackheart Hollow, and with how few new items have been added to the token shop, I haven't been getting much there either. So I have no use other than vending for my tokens typically.

I will say that the occasional flip back to 4 tokens per item in the machines did help with the item values in the past, so maybe increase the price again for a while. People also vend more now because its more convenient, when it was a page by page vend, vending wasn't used as much by so many. I know it helps the site run more smoothly, but it would decrease the amount of venders...

And maybe have a new prize for Treasure Maps, a ___# of days access to a random vending machine. This could inflate the price of Treasure Maps and decrease the amount of people vending in any given machine. And maybe a renewal option for the Uncharted Land Map.

  1. Yes
  2. Nearly every day, as of late, unless I'm low on tokens or manage to forget.
  3. Mostly Ocean Depths, sometimes other places depending on if I'm aiming for weapons, beanbags, or plushies.

I think it does need to be restricted a bit more, but not taken away completely. Possibly make it cost more? So instead of 2 wizard tokens, it becomes 5. Or cut the daily limit again.

More token shop restocks would be great obviously. Or another "shop" type thing like there is for quest points.
