Thank you so much for this ;-;

Thank you so much for doing this. I have three friends here who have passed, and I often visit their pages and "talk to them" This means so much more than you can ever know! <3

Omg this is a wonderful update ;u; Thank you ❤
Thank you Keith for this update. It's nice to know that our accounts will be here for others to remember us by even when we aren't here.
This is a nice gesture! How do we go about requesting this, via Ticket?
What a kind and lovely thing to do, Made me cry.
RIP Mom, I love & miss you more than you know. Tell Dede hi.

This is one of those really considerate things that really says a lot about subeta and the people who run it. Really, this is a sweet gesture ❤️!
I'm on the fence, though, about the pet name thing-- obviously the greedy part of me wants to say hell no, but even the rational part of me knows HOW many pets some people have (not necessarily people who've passed, just in general) and man. I imagine by the time I kick, I'll probably have 100 or so rather desirable pet names, and I imagine about 50-100 other users will as well. Usernames are understandable, we each get one, but all things considering I don't think pet names staying on lock down is that sustainable.
However, that said, I wouldn't mind the idea of their being a new system in place that basically allows you to flag one of your pets for.. forever so to speak-- one that will stay uncleared along with the username when these things happen. I also would like to see deceased user pets renamed to something like, for example, Max* (or some other special character that we the people can't use in pet names due to character issues/because reasons), just because it looks far less tacky that Max_965.
Neither of which are pressing, obviously, I think the most important thing is that the site recognizes those who've passed and have given friends and family a means of memorializing them because that's what means the most.
Maybe you can add a Special symbol at the end f the deceased persons user name so that someone else can take the username in the end of the waiting period? I mean, eventually we'll all be deceased... so that'd be a lot of usernames nobody could ever use again.

I really really extremely want:I am so glad to read this. Thank you.
@ Andrea I don't know if it was just updated, but the original post says that pet names -will- be allowed to be taken by other users after the standard year.
@ keith While I think it's a great gesture, I'm curious how this will be handled. How can you confirm a user has passed away? Couldn't Person A just say that Person B is dead? What protects Person B against that happening?
ETA: Is shop search meant to be only doing 5 results max again? I know you'd increased it previously because users complained.
Thank you
It's time to get real and inspired!

This is very sweet. Thank you for being thoughtful about this. :)

This is such a touching update. ;-; I don't have any friends on this site that have passed, thankfully, however I can imagine how much peace this brings to the people who do. Thank you!
Thank you, Subeta. That's a nice sentiment.

Are we able to request this setting for our own account? (Like not us obviously, but like a family member that doesn't play, having them log in for us to have it updated?)
Thank you for this.
, a friend of mine here passed away a while back and her username still says it is available to be taken on her profile. What do?
who do we tell/ask to mark an account this way? Thanks in advance for the help. <3
Yes, what she <3 asked.
“Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.” - Benjamin Franklin
"Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people, making widows their prey and robbing the orphan." - Isaiah 10:1-2
This is a really nice thing to do and it's just one of those things that sets Subeta apart from every other site.
I am curious about how this all works though and how to prevent hoaxes. It would be awful and downright crude to say someone has passed away who really hasn't and then that user tries to login and suddenly can't because someone wanted to pull a nasty prank on them for whatever reason.
