Oh gosh, they're both horrible things to do to the foods in question, neither one seems particularly edible. How big are the pears? Can I entice the hostess to serve brandy with them? They might be small enough to gag one down.

On the odd chance that it's the egg version of the recipe, I'd extend the dessert conversation long enough that the alcohol has a chance to kill whatever's in those raw eggs in the mousse.

Crispyrice marshmallow treat mixed in with:

dried apricot bits and raisins or chocolate chips and almond slivers

Ew, and ew.. I hate dried fruits in my sweet things, and I hate nuts! But the chocolate chips would be nice, so I guess that one?

Honeyed almond figs (Cut the figs in half. Spoon over the yogurt, then drizzle with honey. Sprinkle with cinnamon and a few flaked toasted almonds. )

Pasta salad or potato salad?

Ooo, that's really tough... It's a pasta salad with a vinagrette, I'd choose the potato salad, and if it's a vinegary potato salad, I'd prefer the pasta one...

If it's a creamy potato salad, and a creamy pasta salad (with no olives, bits of pepper, pickle pieces, or anything else gross)... Then I'd PROBABLE pick potato over pasta, but it would probably depend on the day.

Both are good but tend to get badly made at restaurants, fajitas show some promise as they're currently popular. Handmade, then the Ropa Vieja.

Enchiladas! They're absolutely impossible to get around here, and a good enchilada sauce is a fair bit of work, so I don't have these much. :(

Gingersnap cookies or Peanut butter cookies?

Gingersnaps are more likely to be crisp, so them even though I normally like peanut butter cookies better. But I loathe soft cookies.
