Yes, let's follow that logic, I make pet profiles. I look at my pet profiles like a million times a day. I look at pet profiles I make on a weekly basis, even if they aren't my pets. I enjoy looking at people's pet profiles, mainly for the layouts, but heck the other stuff is cool too. You really can't use that against me lol. Besides, I don't really care if we get this or not. I can usually find a way around our complete lack of certain items and make relevant TCs regardless. Honestly the only thing I would ever get commission would be a stuffie for a TC, and if I really wanted that, I could make that shit wearable and I would have no problem keeping all copies to myself. But if we went with this, I would NEVER want that stuffed animal to be in the plushie collection. Like no. Never.

PLEASE DON'T EVEN USE THE ZOO AS AN ARGUMENT OMG THAT POS EXPERIMENT DON'T EVEN.

I don't care if they make minions. Or food. Or books. Honestly, I don't. But when you get into plushie/sticker/beanbag/trading card terrority, that's an issue because you need every single one for the final achievement and I don't want to put that shit into other people's hands. (Besides we get enough plushies and beanbags released from staff alone, let's not add users into that mix because you know there are gonna be dicks who just want to add 1000 more to piss people off, so let's notttttt.)

Yet, the first time we had custom items, that didn't happen.

In fact, I'm pretty sure that there were close to zero custom beanbags. THERE WERE CUSTOM PLUSHIES, THOUGH.

Pretty sure this was one of them

People ruining everything with 868303048 beanbags.

I can't recall actual custom beanbags. I'm not even sure if the graduation plushie is a custom, I'm pretty sure it is, but still...

I USED TO MOD B&C in 2008, PEOPLE WERE WORST OFF THAN THEY ARE NOW.

Subeta is pretty tame compared to what it used to me!

For the record, I miss the old B&C. Everyday was like, let's go see who's started a war with who today :'D. Now I have to go to Tumblr for that ;___;

Also for the record, a long time ago, I tried to pitch Custom Minions as a thing (just like CWs, only Minions). I would still give an organ to see that happen, especially if it worked basically exactly like the Direct-to-Shop-5ever CW process does (pay 1k to get it on site + a copy, goes into shop 5ever +ever for 250 csc). So many animals I'd love. However it wouldn't be a Cockroach, ever, fuck those OP as fuck assholes.

I don't miss the old B&C, nope. Probably because I had to go and scold everyone with a whistle while everybody was dancing around the targeting rules

SB Satan will always be the user that got the SB closed for 72 hours because they used bots to insult me nonstop when I was a UA. Sorry!

Totally agree that if this ever became a thing, that custom items should be functionless (though it would still be nice to be able to submit things that look like plushies or books- the yellow star is an easy indicator that the: for example, isn't an actual book)

Ideally for something like this, I'd really, really like to see them NOT operate like CWs where they have the ability to become private. I feel like since CIs would likely cost less to submit than CWs, that CIs probably shouldn't have as many perks attached. No privates, no controlled prices, not slots - a completely simplified system. The item is in your shop and available until you discontinue it (which you can't do for at least a week. or ever.).

Frequent contests for items also wouldn't be so bad- maybe instead of holidays, their themes could focus on shops or topics that don't get a lot of attention from staff?

So far, I think pretty much everyone don't want them to be in user-run shops at all. Think less the way CWs are sold, and more the way old custom items used to be.

To be honest, I would prefer that too except that I'm afraid that a lot of CIs would end up being about as easy to obtain as most donation items if staff is in charge of the duration of their release. If CIs got a shop, say, like a lot of the holiday or prize shops, where the items are sorted by year, sold for csc, and then never retired, eventually they'll start to be resold in user shops and the site will cease to make money off of them.

idk, it would kind of be my hope that staff would be more diligent about going through and buy CIs that are being resold below value, because I don't want the site to lose money on this but I also wouldn't want to see items retired because they're sitting in their shop and no one is buying them.

We were pretty much talking about "sold for millions of SP" over sold for CSC, because, you know, money sink.

I hope staff learned from their past mistakes of letting user rule a market with CWs, and the ugly truth of CWs. There was literally nothing positive gained from CWs on site, mark my words.

YEAH I'm finally reading the rest of the board now and catching on to that, haha.

I kind of assumed that staff would be more likely to support something else that encourages users to donate, but an sp sink does seem like it might make the value of things less prone to fluctuating.

Also I feel making CIs usable in any way could grow to be a mess for the same reasons that staff artists shouldn't be expected to draw custom items. Our item admins do a great job, but still things are missed and categorized wrongly and sometimes not fixed for months and that's when they're dealing with items from only a handful of artists. I have no idea what it takes to upload the image for a plushie and stock it to a shop and make it count toward a collection- I don't even know if the total collection count updates automatically or it needs to be done manually, but I'm still guessing that for every step users take to submit their items, there's three steps required behind the scenes. It might not be as bad if we were limited to one upload per week, but I'd still rather not see collections be affected by custom items (even if it would be really fun to draw actual minions).

I'm actually in favor of recolors, but a VERY limited amount. Aka: three colors max per item. I'm thinking mostly this would be nice for metal items, but idk even if someone wants apple CIs it might be nice if they didn't have to draw three separate items for a green, yellow and red apple.
