Hello lovelies. I actually came in for the artz, but I'm replying for the RL.

Perhaps I could share a little bit of my RL story, too. Growing up and so on, I was only interested in English school- subject wise, as I was an avid reader. I turned out to have pretty good language skills too.

However, when it was time to get to uni, my father didn't want to pay towards an English degree since let's face it, the only thing to do is teach unless you do write completely original stuff and manage to get published (tiny chance). I actually studied science at uni because of this, and I now work a steady job at a public hospital since I was able to get a particular licence from my degree. The licence is actually pretty difficult to get (think of a doctor's or pharmacist's licence) . My current job is super routine and requires shift work (i.e. pulling all- nighters), and for the first two years I literally did think I was 'wasted' doing it as it requires NO language skills, NO need for a pretty face, and nearly NO communication skills. And I literally don't need to know ANYTHING ELSE IN THE WORLD apart from the knowledge required for work within those four walls.

But then, every job is specialized, you know? If I ended up doing journalism or marketing, I'd still have chances to say, oh, this job requires no logic or reasoning and I keep interviewing or phoning up people, it's a super tiring job. What I'm trying to point out is that, I think it's just a state of mind. When I interned at a hospital during work experience, and saw someone's bone marrow being harvested from them, and saw how much pain they were in, I went home and cried about it. Looking back though - if I was the actual nurse and had to do this action on a new patient every day, but I knew I was actually helping them - I would have been desensitized by now and done it happily, which is making them go through a lot of WORTHWHILE pain.

Point: If you do go for social work I'm sure you would get used to it eventually.

I hope this is helpful and not interfering, lol.

Points:

• For how many years have you done psychology? Is there no Research Assistant job you can get at a local college or university? Have you tried applying everywhere? You know those places actually might fund you towards a higher degree, right? And you wouldn't have to pay anything, because they do actually want you to stay and work on their project. Studying part- time isn't like studying at all, honestly. First off, everyone is mature, no one is bothered enough to judge you on your background/ your past and everyone has a common goal.

• You mentioned you like working with your hands. Have you tried leatherworking or crafty things like UV resin? Or traditional things like pottery or painting? It's easy enough to make little pieces and sell them on Etsy. You might like super popular, since your love of CWs has already shown your potential for creativity.

• You mentioned not wanting to splurge money on a course. Have you considered jobs which have to offer on the job training anyway, like nail art technician or hairdresser? Again creativity is key in these professions and you could end up opening your own IRL shop. It could get very shiny too, I promise you. A girl I know actually managed it.

Last thing. Subeta time doesn't pass quickly, but RL time does. Your HA will never age, but you will. (I'm even a teeny bit older than you IRL, so yes, I've experienced this. It was painful to be on hiatus the past few years and miss so much Sube life but I had to sort out RL first). Sube should always only be a hobby and fun unless you're making enough money off it to live on (judging from what I've seen around, I'm sure some artists could live off their art commissions from here if they wanted to.)

I hope things work out *lucky squeeze, and that I didn't offend or anything. Maybe let us know your thoughts?

edit: My brother just got his results, and they're bad. He's already been kicked out of school a couple times and now he's at home when everyone else is in second year of uni. He's only 19 and I don't know how to work on him... :(

well, i'm an old women, and both my kids are out in the world, it was my daughter and SILVANESTI we were talking about. but I agree, that you never know how something is going to turn out.

i know my life is NOTHING like what i thought it would be (i can actually SEE at least 3 different times in my life, if i had just made That OTHER Decision, my life would have gone so different)

heh. i'm sure there were many more chances then that, that i could have changed my life, but those 3 really stand out that would have been a dramatic change.

my daughter has always said, that she "never knows what's going to happen" she was planning on going to the local college, because she knew that we didn't have the money for her to go to a "big school" and the only reason she applied for the university (that she actually did graduate from) was because i said "you need more than one college, you have to apply for at least 1 more, to be able to get this grant"

heh. and she actually got in THAT school AND got the federal grant.

the only reason she WENT to college, was because her grandmother (mother, aunts) hounded her, her whole "teenage" years with "going to college"

the only reason she got "certain jobs at school" was because it was a "well, I'll do this, lets see what happens" and she got published in a trade journal. heh.

so you never know WHAT might happen, if you just say "let's see what will happen if i do this...."
