not really . heh. i guess i'm up today, because by monday i'll actually have some $ and can get me some csc. i'm all excited about it :D :D (silly witchy)

the girl has finally found a full time job, so that has me 'up' also. :D our air conditioner went out on us, and we were without a few days (it was Horrible!) but the hub got me a portable ac, and i was able to survive. (got that fixed now)

Sucks about the AC, last year we had an AC issue too, and luckily we had enough fans to make it by the week while our AC was out. Glad to see that things are on the up and up. :)

no. she graduated a few months ago from university. one of the reasons we were worried. she had signed her apt lease, and i couldn't afford to pay the rent on it. lol. and she was Refusing to come back home till the "death" of hope. :D :D

its still not a job in her "field" (chemistry, research) but at least it's 'chemistry' and full time. (working in a pharmacy) so it's at least something. and she can at least feed herself and pay her rent. (her other bills? well, that's another story) lol

i'm just glad that she likes the people she's working with and she doesn't feel like she's wasted all those years in school :D

Ah okay, I thought she was staying with you for a long time, but that was over a year ago so I really didn't know what was going on with that. Glad she found something, I'm still at the "what do I want to do with my life?" phase and I just feel lost. I have a "job" but it's not something I see myself doing for the rest of my life. I kinda feel like school was wasted with me. I studied psychology and initially wanted to go somewhere with that but I also don't want another 4+ years of school, and without a masters or other school, a psych major is so broad that I basically have no direction. Aside from that, everything else is fine. xD

It really sucks just not knowing what direction I'm going in. The only thing for certain in my life is my boyfriend, (and my family and friends etc..) so at least I have something and not nothing. heh.

ouch. i was really worried that the girl was going to feel like that. it's super hard when you have NO idea what you even want to go towards. the way you like to help people, you may think about trying some sort of social work. but it's hard, when you really have no interest in things like that.

i kept stressing with the girl (not so much with the boy. and he's so much like me, just 'drifts along') but with the girl, i kept saying things like "what do you LIKE to do? and can you find a JOB Doing something like that?"

like, she liked photography. but MAN that is a hard job field. really really hard. like becoming an actor or singer, 'entertainment' field.

thank goodness she said that she like "math/science" and she was able to go into that field. (chemistry) GOOD LUCK! maybe you'll discover something you like to do, that has Nothing to do with what you took in school. (that happens) :)

Social work was what I was thinking of doing, but even for that, just an undergrad degree isn't enough anymore. Now they have all these different accreditations and such that you pretty much need to do a masters or social work degree to be able to work in social work. But also I don't know if I'd feel all too comfortable as a social worker since you have to do things that are hard depending on what part of social working you do, that I don't know if I would even be able to handle that emotionally. So I'm pretty much back to the being lost phase.

I've been told to do what I love and money will follow, but I know that's unrealistic and I also don't really have a strong passion for anything right now honestly. I did in high school but somehow since I've lost the passion for photography and for my more creative side. It seems more like a hobby now than something I could really pursue, especially with all the other talent out there that I always thought was better than myself anyway. (Your daughter and I seem to have a lot in common lol).

Sadly math isn't my interest and I hated chemistry in school. I did love science, the other stuff in science, but I don't think I was ever good enough in science to actually use it in my life, I was more interested in the whimsical and crafty and doing things with your hands kind of part of science. And two of my friends teach but I also just don't think I have the patience to teach students or kids, unless it was in a much smaller setting.

I'm still hoping to find something, but I just have no motivation at all. I kinda just go one day at a time and thats kinda what my life has been for the past I don't even know how long. I like having subeta and CWs to get my mind off of everything else though. Bury my worries in prettty shiny things.

, well, hang in there. you're right. you're sensitive, so social work probably isn't good for you, because you DO have to have a hard heart in the end :(

and yah. the girl didn't want to do any more school any more, so she just stopped at the bachelor's degree.

and YAH... i have NO Idea WHERE she got the love of science/math (excellent teacher)

i worked for a couple of years with the Head Start program (only about 10/14 kids) and i started out as a "volunteer" so i knew what i was getting into. you might try that if you wanted to get out of the house, and see if you would even be interested. (i loved reading books with them, but MY GOD, keeping them in line was AAAHHHHHHH) :D

when i went back to work as a substitute, i picked the high school kids, because it was a 'lazy' job. i sat and usually read, the teachers always left work for the kids, and i told them what they had to do. i wasn't going to argue with them about doing it or not. they knew what needed to be done. lol. of course i think a lot of states, have started with Even the SUBSTITUTE needs to have some sort of degree (or paper) so 'eh.

Yeah, I feel the same, I'd like to avoid doing any more schools, paying any more money for something that isn't really helping me and in fact just stresses me out. I was never the best student and I find that schools and all that such really only highlight the people who actually do well in tests and all that such. It's absolutely not balanced enough and I felt like a failure for a lot of my life because of it. My self esteem got a lot better once I was out of school.

Psychology was probably the one subject that didn't feel like a chore for me and I genuinely did well in it because I enjoyed the subject, which is why I chose it as my major. It was the one thing that I didn't feel like I failed at so I stayed with it but by now I've forgotten just about everything I've learned though. xD

Definitely enjoying the shiny sparkly pretty things though. :P And enjoying releasing them for everyone to have something to be distracted by. :D

oh man. if you enjoyed it in school, , maybe you could find some sort of work in an office that is connected to that? Just an idea. depends on your situation/where you live/etc.
