Ugh I wish it started already I'm on spring break now this is the only chance I'll get to really get my dancing in. Now I'm worried.
Amber has said it will start this Friday!
Also I think I may start buying up the less expensive items on my Masquerade wishlist with sP. Then maybe I won't feel so panicked when it finally starts and I have to dance. XD
I just finished planning (and putting on) my Masq outfit... all I need to do is slap the mask on when the time comes! :D
ohhhh man! I'm so excited! You have no idea :D But I'm having the worst time choosing an outfit DX
I changed my avatar, but it's not too steampunky... oh well. I just like horror/dark avatars a bit too much, i think :P I'm so excited for the event!
Baking = Level 1 (25%)
It'll be my first Masquerade and I love a ton of the wearables in the event shop so I'm definitely excited! I'll have to make do with what limited items I have in my closet for my first few dances though xD
Of course it's going to start on Friday... just in time for my parents to visit for the weekend. Can't suit everyone, I suppose.
<3 Masq!!
Hoping for less gears on the clothing this time around?
But how will we know it's steampunk without gratuitous gears?! :P
I know i know ;;v;; Maybe small gears bc i'd love to use the items without having to steampunk every outfit everytime ;v;
I'm up for more clocks on the the wearables though!!
I totally get what you mean, though. I'm Masquerade-ready for like half the year because "preference for old-fashioned clothes" + "trying to wear men's clothes" = "most of my decent wearables are from the Menagerie", lol.
Yeah yeah! Even if you google steampunk stuff online, like I am right now, a lot of the costumes don't have an overwhealming amount of gears ;v;
All my avatars are male or gender neutral, so more of clothes fitting my preference would be just, wonderful!
@.Sei I have the same problem. I guess I'll just have to balance dancing with school like I did with Survival. Not like I can focus anyway... e.e
rolling around waiting for the start IT IS AGONY.
Yeah, I just like to joke about the idea of "goggles and gears" being the be-all and end-all of steampunk.
And I know that feel, though I guess it's probably improving my creativity because I'm always repurposing feminine clothes to work for me, lol.
Yeah!
I always attempt to make more feminine avatars, but i'm just more comfortable in masculine/non-gendered avies! I do make one or two female avies here and there, if theres a lot of effort put into it.
Besides that, I'm hoping for some kind of plot this year! Although, obviously theres a big chance of none so ¯(ツ)/¯
I'm ready! Been ready for a while! Not just because of the foods (yum) and fashion (favorite on site, couldn't live without), but also because Masquerade is my main "money-making" event and I'm broke. I generally find myself an excuisite art-for-dances or csc-for-dances thread and leech on to it. I just...I like CSC, I like trinkets and I like to see what my characters look like in other people's drawing styles. And after the event I put my excess trinkets on sale, only leaving enough to see me through the year.
There's also a lot of light roleplaying for me during Masquerade, which I enjoy. Just...getting my "character", so-to-say, to act in a very elaborate gentlemanly fashion, kissing hands left-and-right and keeping a tab on how many times people refer to her with masculine pronouns.
I generally make a HA a couple of months in advance but this year I'm still going back-and-forth between various categories of the beta wardrobe in the hopes of adding something that makes my outfit feel "right". It seems pretty fancy until I go to the forums and see what other people have dressed up as. Then mine feels absolute rubbish. :D It isn't helped by the fact that there are no white tricorn hats and although the Ragged Feather is a wonderful item it's a pain to work around.
All-in-all I'm pretty much ready. Just waiting for the whistle to blow.
