I've learned something over the past week, do not test your blood on the pads of your fingers. And never on the pad of your thumb. I never realized how a person depends on their fingers not having zingers from that stabby stick.

Hello Bears! I'm back home from Fresno, we had a great Easter with the humans, but I'm glad to be back with my kind in my own home.

Things are busy this time of year, it's Spring Cleaning up here at Healer's Vale, it's time to un-shutter the windows, take down all the drapes and curtains, dust, scrub, clean, sweep and mop. The greens staff is getting the garden ready to plant our vegetables for the Spring and Summer crops, and the Wildcrafters are out scouting for new sources of medicinal herbs and roots. We have a new crop of healer's apprentices in attendance this semester ( Including my little Glendolyn, my only daughter from my second litter. )

We actually thought that Winter was over, it was 80 degrees last week up here in Glen Meadow, but over the weekend, the temperatures dropped back down to the 40's and 50's and it snowed Saturday night. It is supposed to snow again tonight and throughout tomorrow. We could actually get 3 feet of snow. It's a good thing that we are always prepared for just such contingencies up here in the Sierra Nevada. None of us are worried about the snow, we sure need it, all of the lakes around here are nearly dry.

This is also the birthing season for many of the small woodland creatures and all of bird-kind. While many of our healers are doing double shifts or are getting called out on den calls to assist in deliveries, nobody is complaining, there is something magical about bringing a new life into the world that invigorates the soul and makes our work a blessing.

As a final bit of news, it's Butterfly Season. One of the prettiest butterflies in the world is the Painted Lady and this is the time of the season when they migrate from Southern California and Mexico through the Central Valley. While we don't see as many of them here at our elevation, we have seen quite a few of them as they pass North. I know that the Monarch gets a lot of media attention, but the Painted Lady is nothing to sniff at...they are truly fascinating. Those of you who live in California, especially anywhere in the Central Valley ( And in Europe during the summer...) will be able to recognize them, they are flying due North, they are orange on top with black tips on their wings, they have light silvery-tan underwings, and a rapid wing beat.

Well, that's the news from Glen Meadow...where all the animals are strong and the little female weasels are cute...( giggle )

Well,you sound very happy dear.Glad you had such a great time. :) Stressing over something can cause a panic attack.But it's always best to go get checked out by your Dr.Then he/she can find out what's going on. My meds when i started caused some to happen years ago.What happens to you?

I am doing ok last scan had shown tumors had shrunk again so higher dosage worked having a little break as it was really tough on that high dose hopefully nest scan will show the same and can go back on lower dose again

How are you feeling?

a lot of times I will just get real anxious, and feel panicky for reasons unknown to me... more so when I have had a stressful time (loss of pet or loved one).

I used to suffer from panic attacks really bad for some years especially if I was in a shop and it was busy I would run out of the shop.

What I learnt to do was to stop whatever I was doing and take deep breaths and keep doing that until attack lessened try that and see if that helps you

: You probably get the Painted Ladies just before they start their return trip back down to Mexico. It takes them 5 to 6 generations to make the round trip of nearly 9000 miles. The fantastic part about it is that they hatch with the instinct built in to make the journey. They do not learn the migration routes from the previous generations.

: The next Total Lunar Eclipse will be on September 28, 2015. The last one we had lasted 5 minutes. The next one will last over an hour and will be visible over most of the Americas. I will do my best to keep everybody informed ( hugs you ).

Closing my eyes, breathing deeply and rocking helps me when I get like that. The best way I can describe it is like a giant ball of stress sitting in my chest. I get them often enough that sometimes I won't even realize right away. I'll catch myself when I'm freaking out about something that isn't very important, or if I'm sitting in our rocking chair I'll suddenly notice I'm doing the rocking/breathing/eyes closed coping with it (or I won't but my mom will say, 'are you okay?') before I've even realize I have the giant knot feeling in my chest. It sucks. You just have to find something that calms you, whether it's a thought or action, to focus on before or when you are feeling that way. (If you pray, that's one idea for focus.) Also I think fresh air and exercise help. I haven't tested that one well enough yet though LOL I hope you find something that works for you or that they stop altogether! <3
