Excuse me if I just come in here - but I do have a question?
How can I become a lairbear? And what does it mean to be a lairbear?

Hello Nice to meet you! You can join the lairbears by going to the forum groups and searching Lauries Lair. Then click join..... or you can go directly here: https://subeta.net/forums.php/groups/#/group/93
I am Tammy (formerly lovetogrdn) The bears are the most amazing group of friends. We come here to chat and share what is going on in RL, share acomplishments, or reach out if we need a shoulder to lean on. We help each other with events and achievements. This is one of the most giving group of people you will find on Subeta. We support each other like a family. :)
that sounds nice.
I just decided I can just request to join the group - so you can invite me or not. That's both fine.
I am from germany so my onlinetime might be a little different then yours I am working as Kindergarten teacher and as social worker in a retirement castle for senior citizens. 4 hours in each job and during the weekend only as socila worker.
Currently I am recovering from a surgery, so I can not work for another two weeks and have more time to spend on here (besides my family and homework). My Hubby and I have kids (he brought 3 with him, when we started dating, so they are from his first marriage and I have two from my first marriage). So there's always a lot of time I have to spend for the kids.
I am trying not to do so many mistakes (in wirting) - and I am usually a friendly person (at least other people say I am). And Subeta is just a kind of hobby - so I can take my time of every now and then.
If there's anything you'd like to know - just ask!

Sounds like you've got your hands full! I am sure when or see this post, they will accept your request.
I am married with 4 children...2 sons *ages 25 and 28 and 2 daughters, ages 21 and 17. The only one still at home (permanently) is my 17 yr. old Amy. She will graduate this yr from HS and will go to community college for her basic classes. We live in Tennessee and If you graduate HS, do some community service and a couple other small qualifiers, you can get 2 yrs. of college for free. We also have dogs and cats. I work in retail, lots of crazy wierd shifts as supervisor of services. So I am always on at strange times as well. I hope you enjoy it here.
Welcome to the Lair, ! Happy to have you joining us! And you joined just in time as Survival is right around the corner. Get ready to be pinged a ton by myself and Laurie :)
How long have you been teaching kindergarten? I'm also a teacher, but I teach several grades as I'm a music teacher. I'm currently working with 2nd through 5th graders in both general music class and choir. <3
I hope your surgery recovery is going smoothly! hugs
Hello !
So nice to see you here. Thank you so, so much for the poncho you sent me. I'm working on building an HA around it ^_^
I am 5 hours ahead of Subeta time<<
and
back here in Germany Kindergarten teacher is not a "real" teacher. We do not study but have a 4-5 year education in a school and 2 practical years. We can only "teach" Kindergarten and that's not comparable to any American Kindergarten. Our kids are 2 - 6 years old, so more preschool.
Working with scissors. Tinkering, singing. All kinds of creative works.
I tried to study but for primary school you need to do math and I am really bad at maths.
I am 39 yes old and I have been teaching since I am 20 - so nearly 20 years.
The kids are are 17 (my oldest one and my hubbys oldest) - 15 (my little one and his middle one) and 9 - the youngest.
And I know I am already here for 5 years but I've never been part of the Survival. I was more offline then on for the last 4 years
- if I do Major Drill I always try to send WL things if I have to gift through the gift center...
oh and please excuse my weird HA - we have Karneval in Germany and we dress (as people in America do around Halloween) - so I wanted to dress my HA like I am going in a costume

the big game is finally here I cant wait until it starts

This is my first Survival too. I've no idea what to expect, but I'm really looking forward to it :D
I think your HA looks wonderful! I will look up some more about Karneval.
I have a son too, Rowan, who is just over 8 months old :D

It's lovely to meet you! Welcome to the lair ^_^ Your HA is adorable, great costume! It sounds like you are leading a wonderfully full life and that you must be a very kind hearted helpful soul between the work you've chosen to do and the big family you've created. <3 (And that you must be exhausted! At least I'm sure I would be! Shoot I AM and I only have one kiddo!) I have to say I find your writing quite charming and I hope you aren't too self conscious about mistakes. You're doing great!
My name is Kelli and I'm a 30yr old mom of one little 6yr old boy. My parents and I share a home, and while my mom and I used to both work to support the family, she's gotten a better job that can carry us all. So we've decided to chain me to the hearth so to speak. I've switched to staying home to sort of house-wife for her. XD I take care of my son and her husband who has fallen ill in various ways over the past two years. I have a sociology degree but haven't done much with it, though I do dream of becoming a teacher myself and have gone back and forth in my mind between homeschooling my son or turning in the paperwork to be a certified substitute teacher in my area. sigh Life choices. I'm basically a glorified teenager I swear, I cannot adult. XD
I hope that your recovery time is spent relaxing and that those big kids are able to help out a lot and treat you well! I hope you will feel at home here in the Lair. ^_^
You and (YAY new baby! SO jealous!) are in for a real treat (I hope)! Survival can be a lot of fun! I remember my first year I was NOT excited (zombies give me nightmares) and I actually didn't even log on the entire event. After that I sort of fell away from the site for a couple years, and when I came back, for some reason I was incredibly excited for survival! I've had a great time each year since as they're always adding lovely new wearables (my weakness) and usually a great story/plot comes along with it. Some of the zombie strains can be incredibly disgusting... like beyond bearable for me XD But the progressions are always fun to watch. And now that we can 'take off' the skins in the wardrobe and earn different strains, it's even more fun. (Used to be that you could only access the zombie shop items from the year you got your zombie skin or newer. So if you became a zombie a long time ago, you didn't want to cure to get the fun new skins because then you couldn't get into the old shop years!)
Okay... so intro to Kelli, I either lurk or ramble uncontrollably. I'll stop now! XD
WELCOME! :D
I think your HA looks fantastic I hope you have a fun Karneval!
thanks I think she looks very girly - but my daughters like it that way...
I know I am making a few mistakes. That's still fine, I am better at talking then wirting. I think my hubby is more exhausted then I am. But then his heart is bigger then mine. And yes the "big" girls love cooking - but always foregt cleaning. And my hubby minds living on spaghetti, pizza and lasange for weeks. But yes they are helping as much as they all can. I prefer that they do theri schoolwork and I do as much homework as I can myself. Even if that means running 20 teimes to get the laundry done.
and I would rooting for the Denver Broncos, since I lived near denver for a year.

is it sad I didn't even know what you meant by "big game"? I don't keep up with any sports. Hubby watches college football and roots for Alabama. I however remain unaffiliated (which might actually be illegal in Alabama lol). I will admit that between Bama and Auburn I hope Bama wins for hubby's sake.
Welcome to LairBears. I joined last year but have really just begun chatting. Everyone is super nice and I think you will enjoy hanging out here. Sending healing thoughts your way for a speedy recovery. I would love to visit Germany someday. In college I took a semester of German but don't remember much. I do remember being so confused over whether "the" should be feminine, masculine, or neutral. One of my best friends is from Germany. She married a military guy and has lived here for a long time now.
ty for the ping Duane hope everyone is having a good day/night an hmmm go panthers go :D

Always in our thoughts an <3
- I think I admire you even more for working with the preschoolers! I have a little 3 and a half year old girl, and every day, I think her teachers must have the patience of saints to work with her and the rest of the kids in her class. That age can be a handful! But enjoyable too :)
- I haven't had a chance to welcome you to the Lair yet either! Welcome, welcome!
OMG - You made my day! I think I died laughing... I can't adult either! epic failure
thanks so much for the bear! goes to give it to Mondstaub
as long as I can hand my kids back full of dirt and color - I am fine laugh. Usually I am more dirty then the kids. And I think I am doing fine, since I cannot adult either. I still sleep with my window open - so Peter Pan can enter whenever he whishes.
thanks for the welcome
going to bed now waves

Welcome to the Lair ...your HA is gorgeous!
I adore being a mum. I'm quite a late starter, being 32 when I had him, but it is the best decision I ever made. Well, I say 'decision'.. I had no choice really as the urge to have a child hit me so hard and so unexpectedly that I had to go along with it really xD
Thank you for the welcome. I'm loving being a LairBear so far ^___^
