Arranged marriages were actually quite common all throughout history.

Ugh, I'd hate to mess with all that. Too complicated for me.

I know which sucks to a point, I understand some of it is cultural. But some women have no say, they have to enter into arranged marriages. I would love that no more, worrying about I have to shut off AC when I need it, and its to expensive to run as much as I need it to run sometime.

I imagine a lot of the men don't care for the thought either, they'd rather choose their own wives.

I am sure they do, marrying for whatever reasons be it cultural or whatever reasons, outside love can be bad.

And yet from what I've heard arranged marriages can be just as successful as marriages where you choose.

Off for bed, good night.

Update on my sister: They thought they saw a mass in her pancreas on one of there scans and it has been a major worry for us. Did an endoscopy today and found no mass! Didn't even have to do a biopsy, which was the next step. They are going to drain off fluids again tomorrow and hopefully, she will be home by tomorrow evening. The docs have decided the fluid buildup is caused by end stage liver disease. She needs a transplant but probably won't get it because of all her health issues. They are going to put in what they call a button tomorrow while doing the procedure that will keep them from having to stick her with that big ass needle every time they drain fluids. She will have a standing order for that procedure from here on. She has a doctor appt on the 17th to see where we will go from here. That doc will be putting her on the transplant list. Luckily, not for those that end up donating their organs, but for those that need transplants, it is faster to get one in this area of Texas. Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex.

I want to thank you all for your prayers and continued prayers through this very difficult time in our household. I am blessed by y'all.

Life is short... Count your Blessings, Love your family and friends and lend a helping hand whenever you can!

I am glad to hear that your sister is doing better and they found the cause of her fluid build-up and that they are doing something to help her out until they can find a liver for her

So sorry to hear that hon. But so glad that y'all are stepping up to take the brother and sister. I'm sure y'all will do well. A willing heart is the first step. My sister is already a cancer survivor. She had cervical cancer in her twenties. That was so scary. I know how your wife feels. My mom has Alzheimer's and I take care of her. She is in the final stage of it and I never know if she's gonna wake up tomorrow. She has already lost two brothers and a sister to this disease. I know some day it will be her turn. But she will be joining my dad who died two years ago and they will be so happy. Most of her immediate family has preceded her there in heaven and one day I will join them. This promise and hope is what keeps me going when all my loved ones seem to be dying all around me. I strongly believe and have faith that death is not an ending but a beginning.

I believe that too .... and yes I knew that we would eventually be taking care of her brother and sister from the day we decided to get married over 22 years ago she told me that if any thing ever happened to her mom that she was the one her mom picked out of all of her kids to take care of them so we have been kinda preparing for this for a little while just never thought it would come so quick though life goes by so fast

Yes it does. Wouldn't mind it so much if our bodies didn't fall apart! Your a good man hon. A lot of men would run screaming in the other direction if they knew that that was a possibility.

yes I know but I am not most men lol I have a heart and a good soul although I do get a little upset on here sometimes and express myself in a mean way but in RL I treat my wife like a Queen and I treat her family members just like they are part of mine which they are and I don't let any one ever talk bad about them I will defend them to my death if it were to come to that ...

I think it all depends really on how hard you're willing to work at the marriage. Divorce is too easy these days, and a lot of couples just don't make the effort.

hugs I really hope they can find a liver for her.
