I had to re-boot my laptop last night, because it was going so slow. I was given an option to get bookmarks back from my gmail.com acct and I got them all back.

Yikes being without bookmarks is like being naked, but in a bad way. Like being without your toolboxes. Hope you can reconstruct the best ones. You find out what ones those were when by using them you stumble across the other places you knew about.

im lost. How do you get bookmarks from gmail. Do you save them there or something? I dont use my gmail much so Im not familar as I should be with it. Thanks

after my laptop re-booted, I noticed I didnt have my bookmarks. First I am no expert. So I looked for an area on the bookmark bar wondering whats up. If you notice on the far right top corner, you should see 3 vertical bars one on top of each other. Click there and when it opens you see an option for bookmarks click on it and it opens to "import your bookmarks." Click on that and it should lead you to your email. I would definitely check your gmail acct if only to have a way to get to your bookmarks.

Thank you much, but I hate Google except for Utube! Prefer Bing. Had a couple of hundred of them, LOL, every time something caught my eye or I was researching. Redid the ones that were important - just 2 to go.

I use google. you know the main top bar on the page where website links show up, go to the right corner of it. Just after it you should see the 3 orange bar stacked on top of each other. Maybe go into the search engine of bing and enter replacing bookmarks, and hopefully it should tell you how you can do it.

I hope it works out for you. I am busy re-downloading some of the apps that were taken off due to the re-booting last night. My first try at it to, I feel like such a newbie. But no computer is going to get the best of me. lol

I wish I had your attitude Im a woose when it comes to computer things. If I get confused I just turn it over to my hubby and he is so sweet he will fix it :) I should be more determined :)

wow hun wish thats all I had lol. I am the worst about bookmarking everything and when he got some of my old ones I really have a lot. I need to clean them up and get rid of lots of them just been to lazy about doing it lol. Put on my to do list :)

Well I get real determined, but always willing to ask for help if I need it. I have even come to the lair for help. Like coding for here, I have no clue. But Laurie has helped me with it, more than once.

I dont knnow coding at all. Usually I get someone to make one for me and then I just go by it lol

Just added the top 7 necessary bookmarks and am very happy about it. Gone is gone, starting fresh as I did have a ton of them that I didn't need and was being very lazy. Naturally I didn't set up folders and I am doing that now. It's almost like having a new toy that I already take care of!

Yep thats me, except I use glittergraphics.com for backgrounds on my profile. Its about as much as I know, after that its Laurie I run to for code help.

Since I saw the topic from Spirited and Sydney mentioned getting bookmarks back on Chrome but wasn't sure about Firefox or Internet Explorer.

On Firefox there IS indeed a way to save bookmarks and other things. Go to Tools and head into Options, look down the side and you should see a Sync option. Go to it and you should be able to make an account. There is boxes to check to see what you want to sink and save such as bookmarks or history. :)

You can also log in on multiple places with this and still have your stuff sync each time. I'd be careful about doing history if you know it's massive as that can slow down FF while it ports it in. So far we only do bookmarks cuz that's the more important thing for us.

Thought I would share this with the entire group so everyone who uses FF still can keep their info safe. :D

Gee I hope you can get more back especially the important pones. Still having issues getting itunes back. I talked to older son after work. His going to try and help over the phone later.

Was lucky to remember the ones I did and they are the important ones. Working on my sidebar links for a break. Reminds me I need to check my UTube playlist.
