Don't catch your grass skirt on fire... 2 books one i am not quite finished with...they are religious books...one on the holy spirit and this one is Understanding Spiritual Warfare(4 views)... I put a book down and CP jumps on it and lays there on top of it...so i have to bring 2 books to bed,one for her..LOL she has done this for as long as i can remember...cute habit.
: Oh, I won't. I've been in the cement pond all day...sadly, no little fishes, the water is crystal clear and lovely to swim in, just not fishing this year. Already the humans are setting off their big fireworks in the neighborhood. One went off really low and set off car alarms, but no fire trucks were called. All the kittycats and doggies are inside and all the birds are silent. It's like...the 4th of July. Holy COW!! one just went off over the house and rattled the windows. I'm going back out in the pond. Your books sound very interesting.
I was at home when our fireworks went off....a week before someone set off a bunch that bounced off the neighbors roof a few times and scared their little one that was in bed....It scorched the grass where i work and i had a ton of burnt paper to pick up the next day...luckily no fires..
My poor dogs are going insane because the fireworks in the neighborhood are going off all over the place. That's the part of the 4th I really hate.
My poor pups. The only one who isn't quaking is my blind and deaf baby, Chloe.
: I love the big aerial shells, and the safe-and-sane home-style fireworks. I just question the sanity of humans launching the big fireworks in a neighborhood, especially when you are talking about shells that have the explosive force of a grenade or mine by people who are neither trained or possibly not sober. Most of those type of people really aren't concerned about other people's pets. Aerial shells should be shot off at a professional show only.
Congrats on the lairbear companion!!! That was sweet of ANON!!! I have same issue with my dogs and fireworks, thunder and lightning. Solution keep them in a room with you and have the tv or radio loud, but comfortable for you and them. My dogs were driving me crazy, and I turned on the radio and instant quiet happy sleepy dogs no more barking from them.
I'm able to finish my laundry today with no competition for the machines, a good thing about the big holiday. Everyone was out at BBQ or shopping.
I saw someone with a belt in his shorts today. I did a doubletake. I'm sure some of my shorts have beltloops, but it never occurred to me that they'd need to be belted on. I googled images and the look is apparently an on the deck of your yacht button down look. I'm imagining he was a british ex-pat who got lost on the way to Santa Monica.
Did the guy with the belt with shorts, also have socks with his sandals? LOL I am always wondering doesnt somebody love the guy enough to say, that isnt a good look no matter the age?
Hee! But they were colored socks, they matched. Yup yup.
He was walking alone.
Matching or not, its not a good look. But I can understand if they are new sandals causing blisters.
I just tried to get the dogs to go outside. Crockett went with no problems. Charisma would make it to the porch, then run inside barking hysterically. Cordelia followed her example, though I think she wasn't nearly as scared. I finally got Charisma outside by stepping out with her and closing the door, then not letting her back in until I saw her pee. Poor babies, I can tell the 4th is going to be fun every year.

I adore fireworks but I do feel for people that have dogs and cats that are fearful of the loud noises, we get it here for a week before and after the 5th of november with them going off, thankfully our cats have never been afraid of the noises,
Heheh, I changed my HA to represent Charisma.

: Can lend you all my Mage Amulets if you need, just say so. :)
Good solution for the noise!
Morning, bears.
Sounds like most of the American folks had a better 4th than me. I worked all day and then it rained all night. To be fair, though, I did have a pretty good 3rd. My parents held their usual cook-out a day early so I could actually join and I ended up bombarded by children. I didn't feel very well but it was nice to spend some time with the family. I just wish I'd taken my swim gear because the kids got me soaked. :P
Thanks, but I'm making good progress doing Quentin's quests. I'll have them all again soon.

Good morning Bears :) Doggie and I survived last night. I did not step one foot outside but the sound of the fireworks on my street sounded like a war zone...not that I have ever heard a war zone...but it sounded like bombs. The dog was nervous and I was a little bit too...we hunkered down together and got through the night. I don't like fireworks unless in a professional setting. I'd like to say I'm glad its over but I suspect folks have leftovers and we might hear a little more tonight...
