Hi Bears back in Cairo from Alexandri Egypt. Where I got to see the Mediterrean Sea, it was just as beautiful as the Rea Sea from a couple of days ago in Soukna. The place we stayed, the beach was right off our balcony and we got to go to sleep to the sound of the surf. Plus the weather was amazingly cool and nice reprieve from the heat in Sharma El-Sheikh.
Man, you're going like a house on fire!

Since hubby is from here, I have seen the pyramids alot as a matter of fact today we drove by them on the way back home. My older son in 2004 had his high school graduate at the pyramids, and his Senior graduation group picture was taken on Khfu's pyramid. So his senior pictures have the spinx and the Giza Pyramids in the background. The museum that has King Tuts scarphogus is a must, but make sure its not the replica. Sometimes they send original out on tours. Yes, it will take days to see everything in the museum, and going to Egypt for a week is a waste of time, money and effort so much to see and do. All so amazing, I need to be a tour guide for all the bears here. We would have a ball. There re a bunch of videos on youtube for the museum King Tut is in. Here is one from the museum on King Tut, i found for you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L92iLoTS3Sg
You've earned the Blackout Loser achievement!
yeah now I have never ever again to play this game!

That would be cool if the Bears could afford a mass Egyptian trip. You could show us around.
Yay!

Yep self paced, and not like they do on the regular tours. Your on the tour guide's time. Oh I forget I saw a huge herd of camels, on the way to ALexandria just along an open field near the freeway. its always so cool to see them running together.
An open field, no fence? That could lead to accidents...

The camel herders keep them off in the distances. But in 2014, I saw one that had tangled with a fast moving vehicle of some sort. Thankfully I didnt see it happen. I would have to gouge that out of my long and short term memory.
nods I saw a squirrel get hit once and that was bad enough.

I have never seen something like that, but the camel and a moose after the fact were more than memorable for me.

Freedom isn't freeMemorial Day is never easy. Being raised a USMC brat who unwillingly became a military mom, I know this all too well. What I wouldn't give to live in a world where such sacrifices were unnecessary. Sadly, we do not and it's inevitable that more men and women will step up and pay the ultimate price because of it.
As for me and mine, today is spent reminiscing about family, friends and brothers/sisters in arms we've lost to the ravages of war and ravages of the mind. Freedom isn't free. The aftermath consuming the mind of returning veterans shouldn't happen. All I can offer to all who serve is my unwavering support along with my heartfelt thanks.
From the depths of my soul, I want to say thank you for your sacrifice. I shudder to think what kind of world it would be if it weren't for you.
However you and your's spend this day, no matter what your views are toward the armed forces and it's military personnel, please take a moment to remember those who gave their all.
............
Um.. about the food fight pings - lets keep those to a minimum, k y'all? But lets not let that stop us from joining in! I just got hit again myself!
On another awesome food topic: You did it! Enjoy your Cream Filled Baby Booty Bread!
YES! Now I can put together a "Welcome baby Violet" box for MrCool with all the new baby bakery goodies xD
I've been thinking about you since the news of the downed plane, I got lost doing other things after your ping but knew y'all were alright, thank you for that btw
I am seriously green ( hows THAT for a play on words!) with envy over y'all actually being able to see such wonders, Egypt's past has always been one of the few things that can hold my interest. (that and butterflies..) LOL!
I think we all feel that way but that doesn't make it true. You've got the kindest eyes and most genuine smile I've seen <3
psst - when it comes to growing older, I'm not aging beyond 42 even tho I've had a birthday or two since reaching it, I refuse to give up being the age that holds the answer to EVERYTHING xD!
Oh wow, how's that for ironic!? I don't want to know anything about the movie itself but pleeeeease let me know if it's as good as the trailers look!
I cant help but laugh at your food fight sender's sense of humor, thats CLASSIC!
He's in about the same boat, he's always had the luck of a buzzard and was stopped in traffic last October while bringing his best friend home from his mate's memorial service when a truck hit a car that hit them. The impact either caused or helped a couple bad discs in his neck to about rupture. No one knew anything was wrong with them until they did the MRIs because of the accident.
What gets me is there's nothing they can do but wait until winter when he's laid off (road construction worker) or something actually ruptures before they can fix him. The steroid injections don't do a thing for him and after this last round he said no way in hell he's going thru it again.
He um .. how to put it .. well, straight up he will not take pharmaceutical pain meds, he absolut'ly refuses. There's no arguing or reasoning with him about it, believe me, we've tried. Ibuprofen or aleve is as far as he's willing to go. Homeopath salves and rubs don't seem to put a dent in it either.
So, for years he'd use an alternative pain management coughherbcough but cant do that either with this new job. They do random piss tests for those kind of things. sighs I hate not being able to figure out a way to ease his pain. It's gonna be a long summer. ... edits I wasn't going to say anything about today's holiday but changed my mind. I know me so I know composing it I forgot the other things I was gonna say, so I'll just say love you guys! waves to everyone
Our Lair is proof you don't have to stand face to face to know you've got friends who stand with you when you need us.

I am living a childhood dream being able to visit Egypt seeing doing things I dreamt about. I knew the bears would hear about the plane crash and wonder, if I was okay.
My 2 nephews have had issues with PTSD and they are working on overcoming it. One has plans of starting a facility for training dogs done by returning veterans.
thank you.
I was doing that when I turned 30. 30A, B, C it felt akward to turn 30.
40 - seems better.

Beautifully said, everyone has a family member that was lost in at least one of the wars to remember.
I got a Mystery Pie and a mention of a food fight??
It's International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers.Brush off the dust on the medals and spit shine the boots for a day of show who wore this uniform. And that would be me a long time ago now. :)
Well said Mama Bear ...we owe so much to those wonderful Armed Forces personnel who put everything on the line to keep us safe! 💝
And yes, I am "seriously green" with envy as well ...no matter what the troubles, I have always been drawn to the mystery and marvels of Egypt. I would love to take such a wonderful trip and sail down the Nile where the past and the present still exist together! 🌅 ⛵
I see ancient and present times mix here every day, and its amazing to watch. I am still amazed and drawn to the history, ancient ruins, and the mysteries of life here.
Lucky girl ...the exotic land of dreams where Apple and Osiris live side by side! 😸 ❤
The pies are "seriously" flying today and Anonymous got me smack dab in the noggin. First a cookie and now a pie. (Thank goodness for faux calories!) I am thinking that our Mystery Pastry Chef has a bit of a sweet tooth! :)
