I love your idea of a new plot/war to re-release. I don't care HOW it is done so much as I care THAT it is done.
I have taken part in many events on the site so I have a rough idea -- but I will take your word for it about the war being the hardest ever event to earn points at. That there weren't enough prizes released to begin with or that the shop prices were originally too high only makes a re-release that much more important.
The fact that there have been new training tools and improvements introduced (some even since I have been battling) does not justify withholding needed weapons from newer battlers. Seriously, I've never even used auto-training. It's not that big of a deal.
Give me a choice between taking longer to train up a pet and being able to actually get the weapons I need versus training more quickly/cheaply and not having access to the weapons I need to be successful: I know what I will choose.
The first method may take longer, but it is really the only path to success. You can keep the stat boosters and auto-training. Give me the godlies.
It wasn't the hardest event ever, because a pet with stats in the 500 could easily beat all of the challengers but the top one. I know I did beat everyone up to Matlal, including him.
However, it demanded time. And it was boring.
I ended up with 11K points and I stopped because I was too bored.
I don't care about weapons, but I'd definitely love a chance to get the hibiscus barrettes. I'm all about hair flowers.
An oracles staff sold for 3.5bil. So lets just say thats a fair price (idk whether it is or not, but lets just say it is for arguments sake), would you pay that for a SoSS or WoK?
I've seen posts on the threads things like:
You currently have 2,018,346,409 sP! You are the 20th richest user on Subeta.
And you're talking about a price of almost double that amount. In other words, to buy even just ONE of the three weapons you list, I would probably have to be one of the 10 richest users on the site.
I can't afford that. I just spent six months saving for a weapon that cost 10% of that amount. This is why I am spending less and less time on this site and more time battling on other sites. No, I would not spend that amount for any weapon. I simply don't have it and I'm not likely to ever have that amount. It's not even a choice. It isn't even in the realm of possibility.
For what it's worth, the two god weapons from the Omen Islands plot are mostly just expensive novelties these days. Natasha and Manifesting Weapon are very much on par with those two god weapons but are much more obtainable.

Comment/sMail me if selling.
You guys already get so many easy-to-earn godly alternatives, most of which are really not that much different in battle vs. the original ones. They're all also seasonal or permanent, so you can work your way up to them at some point. So anyone that would rather have the original gods over the existing alternatives would just want them as collectors items mostly, which is why they should be left alone. They are definitely obtainable from other users if you know the owners and you manage to tempt them if you don't want to wait months for some to show up in trades. Getting the 3 or so bil is the easy part if you really put the effort in over time. Don't spend, sell expensive plot prizes, sell unused wardrobe junk worth tens of millions etc if a godly means more to you than what you sell off. If you really just can't make it, then it wasn't meant for you. This isn't a reason for re-release.
You're all lucky that the BAs are even making alternatives for you because I remember how unexpected the release of the ME was, which was the first alternative, and how excited everyone was. A couple later and some people just go "Nice. Can't wait for the ice godly." Is that not enough?
If you want the weapons because of their item images just use Close enough.
That sword looks like a ghost butter knife. D:
The items have the same color scheme but the Keeto sword is just hideous. Especially the blade. Like I said, fancy butter knife.
Meanwhile, the orb looks actually perfect.
but that's kind of the point. They cant just give them out like candy or at a price that everyone can afford. It's supposed to be exclusive.
So, IF (big and unlikely IF) they rerelease it, it has to be at a price that is hard to get, perhaps even at a higher price than if an owner were to sell it.
NIghtrage/MrCool already mentioned Natasha and M-weapon are significantly cheaper options. You cant have it all.
... in my mind i had looking like a SoSS, ehhh not as close as i thought.
Double check my math on this, but isn't 3.5 billion sP about 70,000 CSC or $700.00 real money…
Am I the only one here who thinks that is SERIOUSLY whacked?
Your math is correct if you assume a constant 5mil to 100csc ratio. Which, if you were to sell that many at once, no one is gonna pay the full 5mil/100, but thats another story.
Secondly, let's say I already have 4 billion SP (which i dont.. i have wayy more, jk not serious). I cant go and buy 80,000 csc and trade it in for $800. Which means if i buy the item, it doesnt mean im "spending/wasting" 800$ since i cant get $ from sp. Im just trading 3.5bil in sp to 3.5bil in value of an item.
Third, yeah someone might say buy 70k csc/$700 worth. But that is all relatively. Yes, to an average person that is a lot of money, but to X it might not? I have a friend who makes 50k a year if he were to NOT work a single day of the year (lucky little shit). Everyday he does work, he gets hundreds to thousands in day rates/food, company truck, gas, etc. At the same time, to a college student, $700 is a few months worth of food. It's all relative.
Fourth, you cannot put a standardized price what someone is willing to pay for entertainment value/happiness (if that is what this site is to them) or time (since you can technically make sp over time). College students spend that much money in a few weeks on alcohol/parties/drugs. IMO, happiness is invaluable.
I agree with you about it all being relative. I think $700.00 is exactly why more college kids aren't battling. For that kind of investment, I can buy a computer and a sword to stab it with. It is simply too much for most (all but 10) users. I don't just mean in monetary terms -- the amount of time and effort to hoard that much is daunting to most people. I would really like to see the numbers on how many users drop out of battling at each tier. Have you ever seen any stats on that? Idk, but maybe it could shed some light on this debate…
Battlers are an amazing group of wonderful people. They are encouraging and supportive and I can't say enough good things about them. I don't blame someone for paying or even asking for 3.5 bil if that's what the market will bear. I think most anyone would ask for what they can get. But the system is majorly messed up and I think the weapon prices prove that. I also think if prices were reasonable, there would be many more battlers. It makes me sad to think of how closed the community is becoming. So I say re-release the godlies, make things more affordable and let some new blood in.
Why does everything have to be re-released and purchased with huge amounts of sP?
These items were earned through a plot. I don't understand why users would have to pay huge amounts for these items. Example: I believe was an Islander plot prize. It's currently priced at around 38 mill in shop search. Even if it was dropped by 10 mill making it 28 mill, it's still a ridiculous price to pay for something like that. If Islander/Pirate prizes were re-released by staff and priced for sP (let's say it was priced at 28 mill to make it cheaper than what's in user shops currently), I stand by my feelings of it being a ridiculous price to pay.
I'd love to see another plot but that could combine both Islander and Pirate prizes into one prize shop along with some new items, enabling users to earn enough points to buy everything their hearts are wanting from the prize shop. I just wish that everything that was once part of an event/plot could be re-released again in a plot instead of always sP sinks (the current 10 mill hairstyles that were from the Cruise event that were originally 10,000 sP/style when the cruise was on, for example. Shouldn't've been more than 1 mill, honestly.). Either that or for more reasonable amounts of sP instead of crazy huge amounts.

@ bonita For what it's worth I mostly agree with your line of thinking. However I don't think subeta currently has the active userbase to apply to it. It would be far more justifiable if there was say thousands of battlers rather than hundreds (I'm not talking about the few thousand that participate in events, but daily thousands doing BQs, competing for boosters, high score lists etc.). At that point the amount of godlies would be overly disproportionate and only relevant to a time when subeta was smaller. As it stands now, that day is not going to come in the near future. We just have to accept the slightly worse substitutes (or some comparably better depending on the opponent). Obviously there are not enough viable substitutes yet, but this isn't something that should ever be done all at once, or things will either become worthless or just as expensive, solving nothing. Progress is being made on this specific issue, it is what is is.
That being said, if there's one thing I'd want on subeta it's an event where I can rack up points spending all my free time beating up opponents in the BC and then spend them on the top, useful prizes.
@ wolf_spirit A successful online game economy like this absolutely requires sP sinks. 10m/hair style is nothing, 28m for a flower is nothing. Try shelling out 750m for a natasha 400m for an ether and 450m for some ornamented hook swords. If you don't understand why sP sinks are necessary as much as possible and in meaningful ways, I suggest you google a guide on online game economies, I'm certain there are plenty out there. Also if an item isn't worth 28m to you, don't buy it, but if it is, and you do want it, then do buy it, that's a general rule for buying anything, it's a fundamental principle of economics...
PLEASE TELL ME WHERE YOU FIND THE 50M NATASHAS.
(I totally know you meant 750M, it was just hilarious to me)
the 7, x and z keys on my laptop are on their way out XD. Though I did actually buy a natasha for 50m at one point ;)
While everyone only seems to be concerned about the god weapons.
Over the island & pirate stores combined: 13 plushies 2 stickers 14 minions 8 books 60 wearables (62 if you count the godlies)
Just let me buy everything already.

I have to say, I agree that 28m for a hair flower is excessive (though, why would one assume that it would cost 28m to begin with?). I mean, yeah it's meant to be an sP sink but there's no point if no one wants to pay that price.
