Alaska is pretty wonderful, especially when there are no mosquitoes. And the native cultures are really beautiful. I go to a school that has a lot of kids from different villages and it is SO interesting to hear what their different cultures are like.

It really is! A lot of them bring bead work that either they did, or their mom or grandmother did, and it is so beautiful. I have to admit, however, some of the foods they eat gross me out.

Oh my goodness? That would be really scary. I'm glad we don't have that up here- they're just really annoying and come in large groups, lol. Last summer I vacuumed (?) my walls every night before bed so that they wouldn't wake me up CX

Hello! I'm Rowan. Nice to meet you! How are you? :-) Thank you! Lol! We get them in abundance in the summer, but for about seven months it's too cold for them. In the winter, we usually stay in the -60 to -30 range for most of the time where I live!

Good morning everyone. I saw the new Mad Max last night. Wow it was so good.

I'm doing wonderful! It's the last week of school, and we aren't doing anything, so I'm rather happy. Thank you! :-) If you don't mind me asking, what's Mad Max about?

Hmm it's pretty simple but also hard to explain. It's set in a dystopian future where a bunch of guys with crazy weaponized cars are chasing after the title character (Max) and some women trying to escape from them.

It's kind of one long car chase, which makes it sound horrible, but it's just so well done with good actors, props, stunts and scenery and it's a lot of fun to watch. It was definitely worth the trip to the theater and even the extra cost of seeing it in 3D.

I have a "physical" later (I put it in quotes because technically it's not a physical grumbles something about doctor) but my mom is trying to get my doctor to do blood tests for me because I'm turning 26 in a month and will no longer be on my parents insurance and not sure what coverage I will have, so I'm fasting as to not mess up with the tests (though I kinda cheated and drank a glass of water when I woke up, but it's still several hours until the appointment so I don't think it'll fuck up with the results much).

Anyway, so I'm hungry, but can't eat until after my appointment which is around 2pm.

Depending on how my appointment ends up going, I may have to rant in the rant thread, because my doctor doesn't doctor well.

Oh! That sounds interesting. I hadn't heard of it before lol. Hmm, I may have to take a drive into town sometime to see it. Cx Ooh, I'm sorry. xc I HATE having to fast for medical things. Last time I couldn't eat or drink for twelve hours beforehand, but they pushed the appointment back so far that it ended up being twenty-four o.o Is there a possibility of switching doctors? Or is it too late for that?

It's not that it's too late it's just that finding a doctor is rather difficult because a lot of doctors don't take on new patients etc.. etc.. but like my doctor is always saying that because I'm young they only need to do blood tests every 5 years or whatnot, but honestly, they're just being either lazy or not wanting to spend money or something. I don't know. I mean my doctor is not available for even scheduling a "physical appointment" until January. Like really? So I had to schedule a "15-min checkup". I just have many issues with my doctor so I really need to find a new one. I could probably rant forever about my doctor but I'll save it for later because we'll have to see if she actually does blood tests for me today.

Yeah. I mean don't get me wrong I hate getting blood tests, but they do them to check on my health and my doctor has been pushing it off for so long that I feel like it has been more than 5 years since I got the full tests anyway. I think she's done like blood sugar tests a bit more often but I think there are more to be done (cholesterol HDL, etc..). So I'd rather just get all the tests that are necessary done now before I'm off my parent's health insurance because like I said, I don't know what kind of coverage I will get with my next insurance. I mean my state mandates that everyone has health insurance so it's not like I'll be uninsured, but I'm sure the coverage will be different.
