Maybe it IS as simple as random when turning in amulets, regardless of reward.

I know I am late but the idea of battling the Tooth Fairy for Morostide would be awesome. I actual think that to have a host of challengers that dealt with the idea of candy would be cute and then to have the Tooth Fairy as the Boss would be so EPIC!!!

I thought the rainbow one couldn't be turned in to the Mage. Isn't it just a fancy wearable?

I thought maybe you needed to have a graveyard potion and visit the Mage but nope.

and I can de-confirm the "have all 9 amulets when visiting the mage" theory; no dice.

We need someone to sacrifice an ice amulet and get a shard or tome. I've got a wind shard. Maybe we have to have one shard of all 9 in our inventory, then visit the mage?

I tried completing a quest while wearing the Rainbow Mage Amulet but no dice.

I am so glad you guys are thinking of different ways to unlock the mage....my mind is not co-operating and not letting me think of ways, except the amulets or the shards in inventory or it being completely random.

Wait ... Wait... What if you need to have ALL the CS challengers to unlock the Mage? We are missing 2 elements right now...

If that was the case, why would they release him as a challenger now?
