Alright. I'm going out on a limb here, and quickly gather some thoughts on an idea I'm going to probably suggest on the suggestions forum. It's controversial at best, but hey, why not get the community thinkin':

Custom weapons. Think of it like custom wearables, but obviously for battling purposes.

Yay or nay? Why or why not? Pros and cons behind it? Yadda yadda yadda. I want to hear/read as many perspectives and arguments about the hypothetical idea of custom weapons and what impact it would bring to the battle community and overall site, for better or for worse.

I can't find that item anywhere in your account! Unicorn Horn goes for more than 4mil... let me ponder this decision... I guess I could make the spacial scroll and replace the delusional scroll another time. Okay, that might work better. Why are unicorn horns so expensive. WHY???? lol.

I would agree to maybe being able to purchase/submit artwork.

aka if someone really wanted a bow weapon, they can purchase and submit the art, BUT everything after that (ie stats and distribution) is in the hand of the BAs/staff.

If you wanted something like a custom weapon, I feel like best case scenario you could ask for would be to submit a picture, and turn in a copy of the normal weapon, and then you get a custom copy of the art.

For example, if I absolutely hated the way my SoSS looked and was named, I could turn in X CSC, a copy of SoSS, a new custom name, and a custom image, and get back out an item that would be "Chris's Super Awesome Bow" that has the exact stats of SoSS.

But then that would be an absolute nightmare for resale of that item (for the seller), etc. You could potentially set up scams, ect.

Custom weapons are probably just a bad idea.

I thinking having a contest for people to draw battle challengers and the loot that goes with it seems like it could really help get more challengers out there. The artists/users draw up the art the BAs set the stats/mods/ect to the loot. I remember Keith mentioning that he wanted to have more challengers out there but the art was the biggest set back. I did suggest a contest idea... it would really allow more people to take part and probably get more users into battling maybe?

Well he never got back to me on it, guess it's not that good of an idea but I tried. :D [edit] Alright got my battle set rearranged and changed up for my tier 9. I've been meaning to get his battles in sooner but I got side tracked. Hopefully when he's done he'll be only a handful of stats from tier 10.

Boo. when did rift staff become so undesirable I remember it being a nice little weapon.

What is this "easier" concept you talk about ? I have a hard time imagining thing getting any easier, which sits just fine with my lazy butt right now

My 7s still use mine. It's one of very few attackers at that tier that heal. The icons aren't ideal, but I think it has a low chance to freeze -- which is always nice. It's probably just a case of newer battlers, who could use one, simply not knowing about the weapon.

If I had pets in Tier 7-9, I would probably just have my default set be set to the Reborn Iceland of doom + Trident, most battles you are doing in that range probably don't benefit a ton from better weapons in those tiers.

It's not going to be optimal for each battle, but it will probably be enough to knock out most battles you would want to attempt in those tiers if you need to do a lot of battles with a lot of pets, ect.

Would love a battle week. :P Mostly because I wanna battle more old plot challengers. Maybe when the Islanders/Pirates shop items become available we might get a chance to battle those challengers for a short time.

Funny how you mention the Rift Staff, I still have mine in fact my tier 9 has been using it for a little while now. Granted once he hits tier 10 I might not use it at all but for now it does have its uses. :D

Speaking of battles though...

Tier 9 just finished up with the easy and medium challengers 10x each. Gonna clear my inventory, use up those eggs on Torne and then go take on the hard challengers.

The newer battlers coming up aren't likely to have or be able to buy the trident. I agree it's a wonderful weapon -- I love mine, but it's not widely available or affordable. I was WAY past T7 when I finally got mine. Now I don't want to change it from blessed (losing the mods) and re-mod it for my 7s, so other things have to do.
