There's no uneven playing field. The new battlers will get new weapons that allow them to defeat the same opponents in battle. As far as battling goes, no one needs the old godlies.
I'll ask about it. I just tried and it looks like I'll lose on level 70-something... not a Red Cosmic Blush and Glitter to be seen.
EDIT: Ah I found one. The Subeautique is different now! (Clearly I haven't done much lately that hasn't involved battling.)
At least with a Red Cosmic Blush and Glitter, you can have an invite and buy it from the makeup section in Subeatique. I lost on 70+ level with Chase, he wanted a ducky plushie . I hate that bunny.

While I am not happy to be unable to purchase those 2 weapons, which are on my wishlist, Cranberry said "we're going with the same point-to-SP ratio on the weapons as on everything else in the prize shops" so at least the other items are not super cheap, either.
I think I am disappointed by the Core. The Mecha is a staple but it lasts for much longer...
"Separate but equal" isn't much of a justification. The issue is equal access.
I don't battle because the things I win will someday be worth a fortune. I battle because of the community, the people -- the sense of having a good time. I like being able to beat a foe I couldn't beat before. I like feeling like I am getting somewhere. I like comparing notes with other battlers about weapons, strategies, and so on. I like seeing new people join the group and I LOVE watching their progress and their excitement and joy as they progress.
To tell me to just wait and someday I'll be rich too completely misses my point. It also belittles me and my concerns.
Anytime I say I don't think things are fair, I get told I am a baby, or that I don't know the meaning of hard work. I do work hard -- like lots of others. So please quit telling me I have to move to the back of the bus. I respect that those who have gone before worked hard to get where they are at -- I don't deny them the fruits of their labors. I just think it's wrong to close off the orchard.
How is it unfair that we can't all own a wrath? How does it change anyone's enjoyment of battling?
It's way faster to either look at the Games > Item Hunt section of the forum, or have a staff do it in "test mode" (if it exists) for the upper levels without necessary having to buy something, just seeing what it asks for.
I tried IH during mid-Feb and took only 1 attempt to complete it. Never was I as anxious like the attempts before I completed it in 2010, because the unbuyable items tend to come from retired collections. On the other hand, I didn't make a profit at all since Swashies are buyable on shop search now, and that's pretty much what I spent to complete it.
Now I want a wrath. LOL.
Wonders how much it will cost.
Can't have them all...

I don’t think we are playing favorites at all in rereleasing all old plot prizes. We are giving users who weren’t around for specific plots/events (reading drive, pirate vs islanders, the digging one with stone challengers idk) a chance to get the items they missed. Maybe someone wasn’t a user during one of those events. Maybe they had IRL obligations and weren’t around during the month we had EPICon. Ariel and I specifically say on the announcement board a bit ago that we want to get these items out (along with figuring out how to get other old old items out) again so people can finish their collections (because right now they are pretty much impossible).
We (BAs, Ariel and I, programmers who have access to stats such as how many points people still have from this particular plot) talked and discussed what should be the point to sP ratio. We’ve all agreed on one that will, I think, make people very pleased. Some items are going to be really expensive, like godlies, because you have to think in terms of hey this used to be a plot item and it was for doing the most, for being super active, etc. People worked really hard for those points and we don’t want to snub them by making a book worth 750 points as something as little as 5mil. It isn’t really fair.
Like I said, some items are going to be expensive. But they’ll be staying forever in that shop so you can work towards it. Right now a lot of people have complained about not having goals or things to work towards and at least this will give them a good idea of how much sP they need to save to actually do things like collections again.
Also -- what unretired ingredients are you talking about? I can look into that and see about bringing them back :)
- I'm just glad that all those books are going to be somewhat available, they are far more useful to me than the Wrath and SoSS. And I don't mind if those items keep their value, that plot was a debacle, and earning points was really hard, I traded two cheaper islanders shop items, and all the sP on my account at the time to get the Three Headed Monkey, and even though it was only a TC item, I do not regret getting it, and if it comes back and it is cheaper than what I initially paid for it... I'll just buy another one :P That event was so long ago, and those items have been more or less completely out of circulation for so long that I don't even think it matters what price they come back at, they will get bought. The rich will profit and the peons while continue to pine, I've come to expect that from subeta now.
What we really could use is another restocking war, everyone starts on equal footing, and the new users can get an appreciation of how hard you have to work to earn the points to buy those big items. The wrath and SoSS were what 50000 points each? I earned about 150 in those two weeks, and I wasn't even working that summer.
We really do need to get rid of those retired items from the scroll ingredients though, that's just total BS. I bet the R99 spell ingredients would maintain their value better if the rest of the ingredients for the scrolls were actually obtainable so that the R99s would be getting used.
Now the Swashbuckle issue is something I call unfair! A lucky streak is possible for one or two users, but having multiples of the weapon in shopsearch for less than a 4th of it's normal price, is definitely broken. The irony is, I never use that weapon, I prefer the Trident. Come to think of it, this kind of went through the same unfair price drop in the end - even worse, the cheapest sold for only 20mio. But maybe Swahies come down to that as well, since nobody in charge seems to care. I mean, those cheap ones could at least have been bought up by "Subeta Team". Hey, time we saw them again, btw ;)
We didn't tell you either of these things. There has been not belittling whatsoever
You will get just as far in battle as anyone even without old god weapons. Please, come sit at the front of the bus with me. Just be careful where you step, those diamond seats can be a little hard for your back at first ;)

Tell Amber there which scroll ingredients are retired and she'll look into it!
This is the first thing that springs to mind.
[item2=Bottled Hatred]
I understand your argument, but 6 billion? The implication was that these weapons are going to cost more sP than most users can earn in a couple of years, which makes them inaccessible for many users. While I like the idea and laud the effort to be fair, I am concerned about the actual implementation and how that affects the average user. Anyway, I said my piece so I'll shut up now.
EDIT: hugs Your humor is what I love most about you! ❤ (The baby & working references were on other threads at other times & I figured If I brought it up, no one would feel the need to make that point with me again as is usual. You, and other battlers, have always been respectful of me & I appreciate it.)
Uh, I don’t know who said an item will be 6billion but that’s not happening.
I’ll look into bringing Bottled Hatred and some others back, though! This is after all the perfect month to do this all (yay scared land theme).
Keep that hatred bottled, son!

- the other that I am aware of is the I'm not sure if there are others.
YES! You've managed to find all the pieces to my bracelet! To thank you for this, I am giving you one of my very special items! I'm so pleased that you've finished this quest that I've decided to give you another item. Lucky you!
