Excuse my annoying newbie-ness, but I just saw the spells and potions sections when I'm battling. At tier 4, am I supposed to be using anythng? :/

Also, is there any way to combat the Mysterious Jollin's sticky fingers?I've only been able to beat him 2-3 times, I can't remember. From then he wipes me out by stealing my Phoenix quill and most useful weapons. OTL For anyone willing to throw me a bone, this is what my current weapon and scroll lineup looks like:

The gorgun is perfect. The best way to beat him is to freeze him so he can't steal. (That's what worked for my t5s anyway.)

A good scroll to add if you can is it's a low chance freezer but if you use that while he's already frozen you could freeze again. Basically making it so you have two hits with your strongest attackers while he's undefended. That should take him down low enough (and keep him from stealing all of you stuff long enough) to where you could get a few more wins.

The longer the battle goes on, the more likely he is to steal anything/everything. Hit him hard -- like use bombs on your opening move to shorten the battle length. Use your scrolls to heal. Avoid equipping PQ if you can so he can't use it against you. That strategy worked for some of my littler pets, but I'm not sure I have any T4s to try it with… How much AP do you have?

Meanwhile… back at the ranch…

I got a grand total of 2 scales and one extra amulet battling CE with 8 different pets.

I'd recommend not bringing that quill into the battle so he can't use it and heal up. Do you use scrolls yet? You can use them for any healing you need.

- You just gotta get lucky and you can kill him before he steals everything. Modding your weapons with attack baguettes or critical strike mods might help get more damage before he takes you out. If you have it's a fun one to use against him, it heals you and doesn't take up the healer slot, plus it scales, so if he steals it and uses it against you it does less damage.

I've found with my 5s that a recycle blaster and soma tabs help a ton, like mrcool said in his guide slots spork for a filler is solid.

after reading some set advice threads, one common recommendation was , so i'll probably replace one of my bombs with that since i've heard bombs aren't that great. Are there any other changes to my set I should make?
