We do have Flamagia when it comes to challengers who steal with blessings disabled.

Though I think I'd rather not have more like Bandit. That kind of gimmick feels like cheap difficulty to me.

Envious of all you peeps getting scales. Seems like this was just not my year.

- I've gotten two in 50 battles, and 1 tome from 24 amulets, so it's not been a great fireside for me either. No FD scrolls either. Still have some pets to go through, but not getting my hopes up.

I just loaded up with 8 weapons and got my 6 strongest to 5 wins each with no problem at all.

I got the achievement last time but I would love to see them back, I got my wins with an emo spork and they were very cheap wins :p

I enjoy gimmicky challengers. They're not as simple as bash them over and over again until they die, it is more of a challenge and holds my attention longer

I forgot about flaminga (idc that's not its real name) Though I don't think it steals often enough to be too annoying. Mega fbj stole quite a bit and was annoying too.

- There is a difference between a challenge that holds my attention and a luck based battle that only takes a long time because you need to have everything go right in order to win. FBJ, Rouland, last year's Devoura, Sophie, those are the types of opponents in the former category, I have fun battling them, guys in the second category like Careaper(ier) are just plain annoying. Gimmicks are only fun to a point.

I got 50 battles in and really only notable thing was 2 spare amulets. Would love to have gotten a scale but hey that is life.

Yes of course, there is always next year. And who knows... I might have more pets when to go for the goal. Torne will be battle ready by then for sure.

- I just got 10 wins with Xsavio, whom I just started training last March, with daily auto-training, so totally doable to get a pet up to snuff for Effigy in under a year. He doesn't even have the AP to equip more than a TF scroll.

Torne is neatly at 700 in his stats and he's been with me since March as well. I do not auto train... I just can't afford it. This year mind you. Next year if the dollar gets better I might make a new pet and get that started. For now 6 battle pets is good enough for me. Congrats on your wins and your training and everything.

I don't enjoy fighting careapier and this is the same sort of gimmicky-ness yes, however I'll make a pass for this one because its a perfect fit for the lore behind it so far. +10 points to House Subeta.

Weapon advice for the bandit? I know truth serum is a huge help but what else especially now that freezing is out, haha the freezing is what got me 3 wins xD

What pet are you working with?

I used 8 weapons, no healers or blockers in case he steals them, and depended mostly on scrolls for healing. kbbob suggested 7 blockers and the TS I think.

My tier 5 pet Peppi, My set consists of shinwas temple shard,icy freezing wand of doom,ultimaplus tag,cruel fandango,malevolent grenade,bauble bomb,riptide,and iron fireside lantern. i also have replica minotaur knocker,all the forj tempered weapons,kt ring, and some other odds n ends that i kinda switch out to test to see what is best. I borrowed a truth serum briefly, any chance of doing it without the TS?
